From afternoon tea-dances in the art-deco surroundings of Sheffield City Hall to swimming in the Olympic Pool at Ponds Forge, our venues welcome over 4 million people every year. Our open to all philosophy ensures that our activities and facilities provide for everyone in our communities across the city.

We are proud to have a team of over 25 coaches some of them former International gymnasts, European, World or Olympic Champions in gymnastics and feel confident they will pass their expertise to new generations. We also have volunteer coaches that are currently ongoing their training to becoming qualified coaches. We are always on the lookout for new coaches that are keen to get involved so if you are interested in becoming a gymnastics coach or even just a volunteer please get in touch. All our coaches and volunteers over 16 have DBS clearance and are trained in safeguarding children as well as certified and insured through British Gymnastics. We also have Youth Leaders that you see in the gym learning to assist and develop their skills as a future coach and a young leader, gaining valuable work experience in a professional environment.

Our vision is to see east London’s young people thrive and businesses grow thanks to the work that we do together.  Situated right in the heart of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the space is part of the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC)’s plan to make sure businesses are tapping into local talent. The LLDC teamed up with A New Direction who run the Hub and bring this initiative to life for both young people and employers.  Young people can take advantage of the paid opportunities we publicise, the support we give for freelancers and start-ups, and industry connections we help foster through mentoring and networking, as well as sector specific careers advice and coaching. At the Good Growth Hub, all internship opportunities pay at least the London Living Wage of £11.95 per hour – but we strive for higher.  For businesses, the Good Growth Hub is an excellent resource to establish good working standards and to become more inclusive. Employers are able to both nurture and draw from a talent pipeline that’s eager to show what they can do. We’re always on the lookout for like-minded businesses to partner with us as mentors, speakers and advisors.  So, whether you’re a business, a young person or just someone who shares our passion for Good Growth, we’d love to have you involved.

Since 2004 Wonderstruck science shows and workshops have been all about inspiring wonder in the world around us. We work with children and adults in formal and informal settings to explore science in a hands-on, creative and spectacular way. The last 18 years have been a wild ride. Wonderstruck science shows and workshops have spread the sciencey goodness to hundreds of schools across the UK with groups from year R to post-16. We’ve run workshops and shows for 10 children and we’ve run them for just under a thousand. We’ve performed shows at the Royal Institution, Cheltenham Science Festival, the Abu Dhabi Science Festival, the Bradford Science Festival and quite a few others. We’ve even ‘warmed up’ for Alesha Dixon at the huge Make the Future Live event at the Olympic Park, Stratford in 2017.

Chase Woodruff (CJ) and Colbi Bruce are the co-founders of the FTA program. Both CJ and Colbi have extensive fitness backgrounds with many successes and some failures along the way. This practical experience as well as being well versed in the science of the human body heavily influences how we have created our course curriculum. Even though we have partnered with NASM to ensure students get the best personal training certification in the industry, make no mistake, FTA is not just an NASM exam prep course. We took the NASM curriculum and injected 95% more nutrition content, created lecture content that emphasizes practical application and have a one of a kind hands on in gym curriculum. Our hands on curriculum allows students to build confidence leading and creating workouts, understand correct session workflows, learn non-traditional training methods (Olympic Lifting, Suspension Training, Ect.) and more…
