Rainbow Out of School Clubs offer safe, stimulating and above all fun environment for children aged 4 and 11 years. The play environment allows the children to be offered a selection of structured activities and play opportunities which take place both in and outdoors weather permitting e.g. art & craft, board games, construction activities, role play, clay modelling, home corner, pool table, kwik-cricket, ball games and much more. The children are free to choose activities. Play opportunities are risk assessed and evaluated to ensure that the safety of the children is balanced with the enjoyment and fun element. Qualified and experienced and police checked playworkers understand the importance of play and how this impacts on the individual development needs of children. Playworkers receive ongoing training to ensure the quality of care is paramount. All clubs are registered with Ofsted (where legally required to do so), and inspected in accordance with the law & guidance surrounding the care of children in a play environment. Parents/Carers are issued with terms and conditions upon registration. A comprehensive list of policies which the club operates by are available at the clubs. You will be required to complete registration forms for your child prior to joining.

Meet Gehane Gordelier Education Consultant As an education consultant I provide on-site and remote/online guidance, support and training for headteachers, senior and middle leaders and practitioners at every level to help them to further improve their practice; this includes governors. Most of my work is currently in the South East and in Jersey. I support schools with school improvement, planning, self-evaluation, curriculum provision, the teaching of phonics and early reading as well as financial management and budgeting. As an HMI I reviewed the implementation of policies and practice in education. I inspected local authorities, initial teacher education as well as primary, secondary and special schools in the maintained and independent sectors. I have experience of reviewing a range of curriculum subjects for Ofsted and now undertake deep dives of subjects for schools. As HMI, I was the national lead for the inspection of information and communication technology in primary schools and the inspection of international schools in England. Areas of specialism include strengthening leadership and management and improving the teaching of phonics, early reading and writing, MFL, EAL and accelerating school improvement. I have a B.Ed. (Hons) in Education and French and an MA in IT and Special Educational Needs.

We started work here in New Cross in the year 2000 when we were set up as St James Family Learning Centre by the Southwark Diocese Board of Education and the London Borough of Lewisham to address issues of inequality in education South London. Since then we have we have supported hundreds of families to have better chances in life by providing high quality early education and family learning activities. Over the years we have worked in partnership with Children’s Centres, local schools and other voluntary organisations to provide activities that promote lifelong skills and a love for learning. Today we are called New Cross & Deptford Families First and we are a not for profit limited Company (Company No. 07645531). Teach Perfect was founded in 2016 to provide high quality, affordable educational support for students at every stage of the standard national curriculum. Our goal is simple – we want children to reach higher, maximising their talents to achieve the best start in life. Many adults, with the benefit of hindsight will often say the same thing; ‘I wish I had worked harder at school’. We are here to make sure that happens. The workplace is increasingly selective and every student needs to be ready to compete for the roles they want in life. Our founder, Sarah Eden-Ellis, is a passionate and driven teacher. Her discipline is English and she has had a long career as Head of English in Ofsted-rated outstanding schools and academies. She is also an expert examiner for Edexcel marking Key Stage 2 SAT papers, for AQA marking the new GCSE specifications in English and for Edexcel marking English Language IGCSE papers. She is a Specialist Leader of Education in the Poole area, providing coaching support for English departments in other secondary schools. Her own teaching standards have been rated as outstanding. Sarah is supported by a professional team who also have the same drive to enable students to achieve beyond their own expectations. As Teach Perfect matures, we will add more subjects to our learning programme and more teaching professionals will join us. However, we will never lose sight of our mission, which is to ensure every one of our students is taught by an exceptional tutor and their life chances are improved.
