“Anyone for table tennis?” was an article published in the East Lothian Courier in November 2002. It resulted in an agreement by six local enthusiasts to start a club, playing in the Corn Exchange. In 2015 the Club embarked on a 5-year plan to boost the numbers at all ages playing table tennis across East Lothian. Providing opportunities for young people to take up the sport through schools and community centres and establishing table tennis as a regular form of exercise for people of all ages, including as a therapy for dementia. We run coaching sessions for juniors and seniors twice weekly as part of our club nights, playing on 10 tournament standard tables. In 2015 the Club secured 4-year funding from Sportscotland for a part-time Development Officer. As a result the Club has launched Table Tennis East Lothian in partnership with Active Schools and with sponsorship support from Hab Fab Ltd and EDF Energy. The club leant tables and equipment to primary schools to promote and develop table tennis. As a result of this several hundred pupils each week across East Lothian will be playing table tennis. In 2016, Haddington Table Tennis Club were named ‘East Lothian Sports Club of the Year’. Richard Yule, Chief Operating Officer of Table Tennis Scotland, adds: “Haddington Table Tennis Club are regarded by Table Tennis Scotland as one of our most progressive clubs and a role model for others across Scotland. Their progress is particularly impressive for such a relatively new club.”

Policies and Procedures are scrutinised by our auditors Jelf Risk Management, and provide our Health & Safety Management services. Our Youth Staff on an evening carry current DBS checks, safe guarding training, first aid and fire marshal competence. All staff receive personal health and safety booklets annually for which they sign for as read, and risk assessments as well as operational standard procedures are undertaken for activities and basic duties reviewed by the internal IOSH trained Managing Safely Officer and externally by Jelf Risk Management. Accident forms and incident forms are completed for all those reported on site and held accordingly. Health & Safety and Environmental statements are reviewed annually and are on display to the centre’s users. Club polices including; safe guarding and child protection, harassment, grievance, bullying, drugs and alcohol are held on site and reviewed/managed by our Welfare Officer. Club rules and procedures, including GDPR privacy notices are written on membership forms and displayed in all prominent areas of the centre.CCTV surveillance on site supports the security of the building, its staff, volunteers and users/members. Any concerns in relation to the use of Richmond Park, including anti-social behaviour, drugs and alcohol use (adjacent to our Club) should be reported to the local authorities (Police and Council). Hinckley Club For Young People have no authority or responsibility in events that take place outside of its perimeter.

We have been serving the football community for 18 years and are specialists in youth development. Led by Ben Tadmor & Andy McAllen, the FCF coaching programs focus very much on the individual and as it is our belief that every child should excel in possession and combinations in all areas of the pitch. At FCF, no matter what level of session your child is in, we create a fun and educational football environment - providing the highest standard of coaching at all times. Our welfare officer ensures that all coaches are CRC checked and regularly attend courses in order to keep up to date with all the emergency first aid & safeguarding measures.

The swale media arts centre is a volunteer led community centre based in a former shop in Sittingbourne high street. We have been running activities and workshops for the local community.
