The programme has been designed to help young people aged 15 – 24 improve their chances of employment by offering them coaching support and bespoke activities in order to build skills and confidence and ultimately put them on the right path to a successful future. We specialise in supporting 19 – 24 year olds currently from our head office in Leamington Spa and offer outreach locations in Rugby and Stratford-upon-Avon. Welcome  Welcome to Maple Leaf Counselling and Training Centre. We are an independent NCPS accredited centre [https://nationalcounsellingsociety.org/] delivering a range of counselling and psychotherapeutic training courses from level 2 through to level 6. We also have a comprehensive range of CPD events.    Overview / History of ML Maple leaf was the brainchild of our Director Gail Roberts, who wanted to set up a training centre that specialised in counselling. She didn’t want it to be like a traditional school, as she wanted to focus on the vocational side of the work, so she included a number of private practitioner rooms as well so that the centre is a working therapeutic base as well.  Her aim was to be accessible to people from the wider society and we are currently working on how we access external funding to make the centre even more accessible.  We have great respect for anyone who has decided that they would like to train to be a counsellor. And as a specialist centre that only trains counsellor and psychotherapeutic therapists, we have a unique insight into the industry.  We recognise that people bring a wide range of different skills to the table from previous careers and experiences. Generally, we suggest that anyone looking at training to be a therapist begins at level 2 as this gives a good grounding some of the modalities and theories that you will be building on as you continue your training.  On occasion, dependant on your previous experience you maybe able to use some of your prior learning and start at a different point. This is usually only possible if there has been as aspect of counselling either in your work or in other education i.e. Psychology degree with a counselling module.  If you are unsure which level is suitable for you then please click the button below and book in for a chat.  It is generally accepted that your Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (or equivalent) is required level to work as a counsellor. This is the level of qualification that is expected by all main ethical bodies such as the NCPS [https://nationalcounsellingsociety.org/] and BACP [https://www.bacp.co.uk/].     Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) & National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)   CPCAB [https://www.cpcab.co.uk/about] are our awarding body and they are currently the UK’s leading awarding body specialised in counselling. They pride themselves on being built on a premise of counsellors and practitioners training counsellors and practitioners. This means that all of our tutors have to be in supervised practice whilst working with you on the courses they teach. This is a wonderful base to come from as it means that we have a large body of different experiences from counselling children and young people to sex therapists, psychodynamic, gestalt and more. This means that we offer a rich base to do your training from. We also encourage all of our team to join whichever ethical body they feel suits them as we hold a firm stance that it is unethical to ‘force’ someone to join a particular ethical body.  CPCAB are regulated by The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual), The Council for the Curriculum, Examinations & Assessment (CCEA) and Qualifications Wales. These are the public bodies responsible for regulating qualifications in England, Northern Ireland and Wales respectively. (CPCAB 2024) Maple Leaf are a NCPS accredited centre and NCPS oversee our course content and training alongside CPCAB. NCPS audit on a yearly basis and CPCAB come in 2 -3 times a year to make sure that we are all running safe and ethical courses. The business first operated from premises in the small village of Knowle in Solihull but moved into larger premises in July 2012 to accommodate the larger tile projects that they were being requested to supply. The new premises within Century Park, Birmingham, offered better access for hauliers due to its locality to Birmingham Airport and the major motorway network as well as offering a much larger warehousing capacity. A real success story, more recently the business has expanded its operation even further by opening a state of the art eco-friendly architectural showroom based in Meriden between Birmingham and Coventry. The showroom offers and extensive range of unique and innovative collections on display, with access to thousands of samples. The showroom offers modern meeting spaces and a state of the art office space all under one roof. We can provide onsite CPD training and various types of technical testing. The directors are supported in their day to day business operations by an experienced and talented back office team who cover administration, warehousing, finance and sales. They are currently looking to further expand this team in order to manage the additional demand and retain their reputation for excellent customer service, something with which they have become known for. The company is particularly proud of the clients that they have accumulated over the years who include many household names both in the UK and abroad. Over the past four years the company has also exhibited at shows such as 100% Design and Surface while featuring in FX Magazine and IDFX Magazine as well as being members of the TTA. The Directors have visited Cersaie in Italy each year since the company’s inception to meet with suppliers and further cement their relationships guaranteeing their clients access to the latest and most technologically advanced tile ranges. With turnover increasing year on year the company has ambitious plans for progressive growth as well as continuing to innovate within the tile sector by further streamlining the tile specification process. ABOUT ANNE WORDSWORTH Anne has a wealth of experience having worked in five accountancy practices in East Anglia and the Midlands. Starting as a trainee accountant when she left school in 1994, she worked her way up to a Business Services Manager where she maintained a large portfolio of clients. Anne has dealt with all aspects of clients’ financial affairs and a range of business sectors and sizes ranging from micro business start-ups through to businesses with a multi million pound turnover. In 2013 she headed up the accounting function for a medium sized business with an annual turnover of almost £25 million. This provided Anne with a great insight into the day to day aspects of running a successful business, and an experience that has been useful for both herself and her clients. Having worked in accountancy for more than 25 years, Anne is a fellow member of both Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and for the last 10 years has held an Accountancy Practising Certificate. Anne loves nothing more than helping and supporting Cube’s clients in the planning and strategic side of their business, but away from the office, Anne would rather be at Wimbledon watching the tennis, enjoying a walk or by the sea!

Established in 1968, now with over 1000 students and 70 full-time staff, we have evolved into one of the leading Law Schools in the UK. Our teaching standards and research quality consistently receive high ratings, and we maintain a strong research culture with all staff actively researching in their preferred areas. Over the last 40 years we have developed a contextual approach to legal education which avoids treating the law as if it can be separated from other aspects of society. Students examine the impact of economic, cultural and political change on law and consider how it affects life beyond the court-room and the lawyer's office, as well as studying legal judgments and statutes. We also pride ourselves on providing excellent teaching. A significant number of colleagues have received a Warwick Award for Teaching Excellence – Dallal Stevens in 2011, James Harrison in 2011, Gary Watt in 2009 and Paul Raffield in 2008; in addition, Philip Kaisary and Jane Bryan received commendations in 2015 and 2014 respectively, and James Harrison received the Butterworth Award for Teaching Excellence in 2011. A number of our postgraduate research students have also received the equivalent award – Tim Dodsworth in 2013 and Adam Slavny (now an Assistant Professor) in 2012, with Natalie Byrom being commended in 2014. A number of colleagues are fellows of the national Higher Education AcademyLink opens in a new window (HEA). The HEA has also awarded National Teaching Fellowships (NFT) to Paul Raffield and Gary Watt in recognition of their outstanding achievements in teaching. Since there are only 500 NTFs across the UK as a whole, and 9 at Warwick, we are proud to host two of them. We encourage a comparative and international perspective on law which influences our undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Our staff and student body reflects this perspective, with students from twenty or more countries studying here at any one time, and teaching staff with varied backgrounds and extensive international experience or research interests.
