ABOUT US The Boys' Brigade is one of the biggest Christian Youth Organisations in the UK & Republic of Ireland, committed to seeing lives enriched by supporting children and young people to reach their full potential by providing opportunities to meet together and engage in a range of fun and developmental activities and experiences. It was on 12th October 1885 that the twelve Glasgow Companies held a meeting to form the Glasgow Battalion. More than 139 years later Glasgow Battalion comprises 44 Companies operating in Glasgow and East Kilbride, the role of a Battalion is to promote the interests of the Brigade in its area by organising activities for members; by the provision of support, training and opportunities for fellowship for Leaders; and by seeking opportunities for development of the Brigade to fulfil its Object better.

I'm Leanne I grew up with a passion for dogs and horses and have been lucky enough over the years to train and compete both, I currently have six of my own dogs some are pictured below and six horses. My dogs all participate in agility and we also like to do trick training, obedience work, scent work and above all they all enjoy what they do and have fun. My house is busy with two now teenage children so I know what its like training and raising dogs with young children and can also give you guidance in this area, I also have my long suffering husband who now turns a blind eye when yet another four legged friend comes into our home!!

At the center we hold 10 week courses for Puppy and Adult dogs. The ten week dog training classes progressing to beginner, Intermediate and advanced levels. At the centre we have large indoor and outdoor facilities which include consultation rooms for private lessons. Here we can help you with dog behavioural problems individually. We also provide home visits to help you with your dogs behavioural problems that may exist at home. At Rockwood we train and supply animals for the film and TV Industry, including modelling, advertising, theatre and can provide Britains leading dog display team for outdoor events. Many of the dogs that we supply have come through our dog training centre. Some of the dogs work their way through our courses and go on to join the Rockwood Dog Display Team. The Team are ranked the UKs leading dog demonstration team and have performed all over the UK including Royal Events, Military Shows and Crufts. The Rockwood Dog Display Team have also work on corporate events and have had countless TV appearances. They impress the audience with their skills of Obedience, Agility, Man Work and tricks, all beautifully performed to music. It is particularly important with the nature of our work that all the dogs look in tip top condition. At our Grooming parlour in Llanbradach, Ellen Winfield insures that all the film dog are looking their best. Ellen is a City and guild qualified groomer and offers dog grooming and cat grooming for all breeds of dogs and cats at her salon. Ellen offers a high quality service, checking the dogs ears ,eyes and nails. Rockwood Grooming Parlor offers a pick up and delivery service.

We are an extended family-run business consisting of Myself, Andy, my fiance Lucy, our 2 wonderful children, Harry 8, Libby 5, and our 3 dogs, who are a great help with the socialising of the puppies, here at the Sheffield branch. Our Chorley branch is run by Lucy's sister, Laura, her husband, Tom and their 2 children who are 10 and 7 along with their own dog. How did Puppy Steps come about? I've been involved with animals all my life and have worked with dogs of all types in breeding, owning, and training many different breeds. From high drive German Shepherds for security and family protection through to laid back, large, golden retrievers and tiny terriers for family pets. Over the past 20 years, I have built up a wealth of knowledge and experience across a wide range of breeds which has allowed us to achieve the levels of training we do in such a short space of time. Back in 2017, we bred a litter of Sproddles from our Springer spaniel and local health-tested poodle stud. We had a fantastic litter with some going to friends and family. We decided to keep a couple of the puppies back to give them a foundation of basic training before making them available to the public. From this litter, the feedback and recommendations we received we were asked to find and train other puppies. Through word of mouth over the last 5 years we now have 2 branches which each train 2 or 3 puppies per month. With puppies going not only all over the UK and Europe but as far as the Caribbean. What do we do? We offer a range of services from one-to-one puppy training sessions, right through to finding and training a puppy ready for its new family. All of our puppies live in the family home with our dogs and children as part of the family, learning valuable socialisation skills at this key stage of their development. With our exclusive in-house training, we only have a few puppies at each branch to ensure we can give maximum time and attention to each puppy and achieve the standards we strive for. We currently have branches located in Sheffield, in South Yorkshire, and Chorley, in Lancashire. We crate train and house train the puppies during their stay with us. We also teach manners and basic obedience of sit, wait, recall, and lead walking. We ensure puppies are fully up to date with worming and vaccinations before leaving for their new home. The end result is a well-balanced and happy dog that you can enjoy from the very beginning.

Kasten’s Dog Training is a family run business that was founded to help you breathe life into your dog. After 18 years in the corporate world as Director of Operations for a local company, Steve Kasten felt inspired to take a leap of faith and start Contain-A-Pet by Kasten’s Dog Training, a company that uses electric fencing to protect thousands of pets allowing them to play safely in their yards. However, Steve soon realized that he wanted to do more for dogs and their owners. He decided to attend a nationally renowned school for dog training to enhance his existing knowledge of dogs and their behaviors and become a dog trainer who also installed electronic pet fencing. Steve has since attended many seminars and classes furthering his knowledge on dog training. In April 2016, the new Kasten’s Dog Training facility opened and after 11 years of selling, installing, and servicing electronic pet fences, Steve, after much thought and prayer, relinquished his Contain-A-Pet license and made another leap of faith into full time dog training. The new facility offers residency training, boarding, training classes, puppy preschool, and more. My name is Sarah and I am your local qualified level 5 behaviourist and trainer with over 7 years of experience working with dogs and their owners. I specialise in behavioural issues including reactivity, aggression, separation anxiety and resource guarding; however, I also love to work on the fun stuff too, both including puppies and general obedience. My methods revolve primarily around positive reinforcement and I want to offer advice that is effective and realistic. My clientele are those who want to work with their dog to understand their behaviour and truly address the deeper issues. This means that I won't promise you an overnight fix for 90% of problems because they don't exist without masking the problem. I relate dog training to weight loss. Quick fixes and fads may appear to work initially but eventually they create more problems or the problem re-emerges worse than ever. They just aren't sustainable and arguably unethical. Instead, if you follow a goal and work on changing habits, you'll get results long-term. I believe in rewarding dogs for good behaviour and I also believe in boundaries. I avoid use of prong and shock collars and aspire to set your dogs up for success. I have 3 dogs, a 7 year old tripawd German Shepherd called Bowser, a 5 year odl Rottweiler called Rosie and an 8 month old rescue German Shepherd called Pablo.
