The journey started in 2013 with the vision to create a psychologically healthier and safe space for nationals and residents in Qatar to heal, grow, and flourish. The initial idea was to create an integrated psychological well-being focused center in Qatar. After over fifteen years in the corporate world, the systemic gaps that existed were crystal clear, but the road was steeper than expected. It took over six years and the pandemic to turn this around into Flourishing Minds! Flourishing minds is a social enterprise focused on increasing awareness around mental health, improving access to mental health services, advocating an integrated and whole system approach to health care and well-being, and promoting a psychologically healthy and safe workplace. With a foundation built on safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment; Flourishing Minds strives to engage with individuals, families, communities, and organizations – to motivate, inspire, nurture, develop, and sustain healing and growth. (If you wonder: "What is arts-based research?" - we do too) We are committed to nurturing a constructive discourse about human values* at play in the interconnected, technologically-augmented world. We believe that the switch of the moral compass is needed today more than ever: from assessing what we want and feel — towards establishing why exactly we want and feel something, and why certain things, ideas and practices happen to be more important to us than others. We are particularly interested in exploring how the ethical dilemmas of modern life can be “solved” when the different configurations of values are co-activated.

Creative Futures believes in the transformative power of creativity and the arts. We work with brilliant artist-educators, and with communities across London and the Southeast, to devise and deliver programmes which can have lasting and positive impacts on those involved. Our work covers all art forms, and across many different settings: Community Halls, Children’s Centres, Nurseries, Schools and Youth Centres. As well as focussing on the children and young people involved, we also work closely with parents (especially in our Early Years programmes) and with professionals: teachers, carers, nursery workers, and volunteers. Running since 2011, Creative Futures has a compact management team which oversees all its programmes with care and professionalism, and a growing roster of brilliant artist-educators whom we engage and nurture. Although primarily London-based at present, with some programmes operating in the Southeast, we have bold ambitions to support children and young people across the country and ensure that creativity and the arts is a part of every child’s early life.

The London Institute of Photography was founded by award-winning advertising photographer Holger Pooten in London’s dynamic Shoreditch district. At LIoP we look to nurture the creative talent of each and every student, a talent built on sound technical skills. Our courses look to take you to a professional level in the shortest possible time. Our students come from diverse backgrounds and from around the world; they are united by an aspiration to take better, more creative photos. As well as the Professional Photography Course, we offer 12 Individual Courses. We also offer Taster Workshops, covering 4 key areas of photography. LIoP is about helping our community of photographers explore and evolve their photography during and after their course. As revered US landscape photographer Ansel Adams said: “You don’t take a photograph, you make it.” And to ’make’ a photograph, the learning never stops.
