We are carrying out some essential maintenance at Glasgow Hope St this week, including some upgrades to the male changing area commencing 13th December, reopening on 23rd December. The rest of the club will remain open but whilst we will make every effort to keep disruption to a minimum there will be members of our maintenance team in the gym throughout this period. We have opened access to all Glasgow clubs for members so for a workout there, please head over and use your QR code to enter. Stone Farm Study Centre is located on the edge of Dartmoor in the heart of the Devon countryside. Set in the foothills of the National Park, the site boasts 110 acres of organic park-land pasture and is an idyllic retreat for children to visit. Among 17th century listed buildings we have a traditional working farm where every morning and evening visiting groups can help with supervised farm jobs - complete with pigs, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, alpacas, a donkey, a pony, 'Hedwig' the African eagle owl and resident sheepdog Baloo there really is something for everyone! Stone Farm also has its own onsite lake where, if lucky, the children will be able to spot local birdlife including ducks, geese, moorhen and kingfishers. When taking a nature walk in the adjoining woodland we often see deer, foxes and badgers. First established in 1992 by two former teachers, Stone Farm Study Centre has welcomed schools for 30 years and we understand the educational, physical and emotional benefits school visits offer. We have attempted to create a Study Centre which we would want to visit ourselves and an environment in which every child can flourish and grow. We work closely with every school to ensure our on-site activities, and the excursions you choose in the local area, incorporate and complement the curriculum of each year group. Set up specifically and exclusively for primary schools, we welcome KS2 groups from across the country for 3 or 4 night visits.

edinburgh university cricket club

Our goal at Edinburgh University Cricket Club is to promote a passion for the game within the university and the wider community. We are a large and inclusive club of seven teams (four men’s, two women’s and a social XI) and compete in both indoor and outdoor competitions. We offer a diverse winter and busy summer schedule to suit any level of ability or commitment. We train three times a week, with specialist coaching available from Joe Kinghorn-Gray, Craig Yelverton and Aashiq Rhode. Our elite indoor squads have extra sessions to maintain our prowess in National Finals. Our Semester One Varsity Day, with both men’s and women’s matches against St Andrews, is always a day to remember that everyone gets involved in. We have a vibrant social scene, with socials and events throughout the semester, giving squads the chance to mix and friendships to blossom. Our annual Casino Night and Ball are some of the biggest nights of the year, and are a chance to dress up in the name of charity. There is also the opportunity to participate in various intramural sports, such as football, netball and hockey, if one sport isn’t enough for you! Our men’s and women’s 1st XI squads play at the highest standard in the BUCS Northern Premier divisions, while the rest of our squads play throughout Scotland. 2022 saw the exciting addition of a women’s 2nd XI and a Social XI, making our club even bigger and better than ever!
