Welcome to East Cornwall Divers! Based at the Torpoint Mosquito Sailing Club, in Torpoint, Cornwall, we are an active branch of the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) who regularly dive in Devon, Cornwall and further afield. We have our own RIB, kept afloat on a pontoon in Torpoint Yacht Harbour. We also have a single axle, braked trailer which we can use to take the boat on dive trips further afield. The club meets socially on a Wednesday evening from around 8pm. Our informal club night is an ideal opportunity to meet new and existing members to plan dives, discuss training and enjoy the view from the clubhouse with a drink! From time to time we arrange guest speakers or informal training sessions on a variety of subjects. Those who have never dived before are made just as welcome as those with many years of diving under their belts. Our club has members who have qualified and trained with many different agencies, from Ocean Divers to Advanced Instructors. Being onsite with the sailing club and yacht harbour means we benefit from their excellent facilities including storage, changing rooms, showers, a fully licenced bar, restaurant and easy access to our boat! About Solent Boat Training - RYA Advanced Training Centre Solent Boat Training (SBT) in Southampton is a truly national training centre based in the famous English Solent with 20 years experience in delivering low student ratio training courses. We have students travelling from all over the UK and Europe to train with our approved RYA, HSE & MCA instructors. All the courses found on this website are run by our own instructors at our own training centre, we do not farm out courses to other centres. This is due to our amazing resources including our boat fleet, classrooms and instructor team whom the vast majority are full time staff. We are not a one man and a boat operation, unlike many other centres. We now have boats based in Southampton & Lymington. We offer courses & events all over the Solent. We specialise in low student/instructor ratio training at amazing pricing because we own our own fleet. With 15 assorted yachts, motorboats & ribs we have the complete flexibility to run courses for private individuals, companies and organisations. We offer training for all, from an absolute beginner to a Yachtmaster Ocean skipper. We also work alongside and are the training provider for Solent Boat Charters a large local sailing events company. We have 6 classrooms and a training workshop all within the marina together with free accommodation included with all sailing courses means your training will be to the highest standard. We offer RYA courses and own boat tuition all around the Solent including Southampton, Yarmouth, Hamble, Lymington & Cowes. Here is a summary of the guidelines: All Boxers are to have a medical before and after they box You must be aged 18 or over to compete All boxers train together to ensure fairly matched bouts Bouts contested over 3 rounds of 2 minutes with 1 minute intervals UWCB provide 16oz gloves to be worn on fight night Full UWCB headgear to be worn Groin protection compulsory for males, optional for females Scoring by referee Three standing eight counts in a round will result in referee stopping contest The referee can stop the bout and any stage if in their independent opinion, the safety of either boxer is compromised
