We are a global team of coaches and advisors, who specialize in transforming leadership at three levels: leading change, leading people, and leading your own life. boas started as a one-woman business back in 1987, and has since blossomed into a thriving community of peers, working worldwide to support an ethos of co-creation. Present. Open. Honest. Astute. A professional coach challenges your behaviour and thinking, whilst accepting you unconditionally as a person. With a boas coach, the process is more than just a powerful conversation. We make the learning holistic by combining mindfulness, movement, and being at one with nature. This awakens new awareness and possibilities within yourself. The result is a fresh outlook. Healthy team dynamics. Effective working practices. Renewal of the very spirit of your organization. Based on the boas tools for transformation, we design innovative programs in response to your needs. From the minute you take your place in a boas meeting - whether in person or online - you experience how deep listening, transparent sharing, and fresh insight give rise to conscious and lasting change. Please connect with us and feel free to ask about anything from a single mentor coaching session to a global corporate program. We would love you to experience the different forms of our work and how they all come together in our signature service: Leading From Within®. Join the collective journey and discover what it means for you. boas... transforming leadership since 1987

Dance Movement Psychotherapy, Goldsmiths, University of London

dance movement psychotherapy, goldsmiths, university of london

Your learning will be underpinned by the principles and practices of psychodynamic psychotherapy within the social, political and multicultural context of mental health care and educational settings. Study is informed by contemporary dance practice, Laban Movement Analysis (LMA) and somatic bodywork. Through theoretical studies, movement observation studies, dance practice workshops, clinical work and experiential learning, you integrate cognitive understanding and practical experience with a developing awareness of self and other. The nature of the therapeutic relationship is explored in depth through movement and dance and you have the opportunity to put your learning into practice through at least 90 days of supervised placements. This gives you the opportunity to relate your practical experience to your theoretical studies. You'll be encouraged to develop your own dance/movement practice and to situate your work in relation to your development as a therapist, to contemporary dance and movement practice. You're required to be in personal therapy throughout the programme (please note that this is at your own cost). On graduation you are eligible to become a registered professional member of the Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy (ADMP UK). Follow us on Facebook for more about the MA, including photos of our graduate show. Short courses We offer a Dance Movement Psychotherapy short course, along with other therapeutic short courses. Visit our short course pages to find out more. Contact the department If you have specific questions about the degree, contact the Department of Social, Therapeutic, and Community Studies.

The Composers Desktop Project

Devon

A Composers' Viewpoint CDP members are deeply involved in the current huge shifts in music-making. As an organisation we place the emphasis on sound transformation in creative musical contexts. Our aim is to provide new computer tools for sound design, in which the emphasis is on a detailed and flexible access to the inner features of sounds. Our goal is to help composers work with sounds. To this end, numerous programs are semi-algorithmic in nature, such as the segmentation routines and the Texture Set, which shape whole multi-event passages of music – 'semi-algorithmic' in this context means ways to adjust both individual parameters and multiple events over time.) In other words, CDP is not just focused on 'DSP' functions (digital signal processing), nor on sequencing or audio editing, and not at all with sound synthesis: other software handles these things nicely. CDP focuses on transforming existing sounds (musique concrète) and how they might be shaped over time to create anything from a single complex sound or gesture, to an extended soundscape or composition. In doing this, we mainly adopt the composer's viewpoint and seek to create a mutually supportive environment in which practising composers can help each other, both in designing software tools and in using them effectively. We believe in and depend on the crucial importance of the composer's ability to hear music not only before it is written, but even before the means to produce it are available.

EuCAN is a Community Interest Company (CIC) working in the UK and other countries of Europe to involve more people and communities in the conservation management of their local environment, by providing training and practical experience for young graduates, potential volunteers and therapeutic groups, in nature conservation and in sustainable land management and food production enterprises. EuCAN CIC started life in 2007 as the European Conservation Action Network, a project linked to The Kingcombe Centre in west Dorset, and funded entirely by the Leonardo da Vinci strand of the EU Lifelong Learning Programme. Since 2007, The European Conservation Action Network has set up 23 different two-week placements and enabled nearly 300 volunteers to visit 11 partner organisations in the EU. In 2011, when The Kingcombe Trust was wound up, EuCAN became established as an independent Community Interest Company through which, in addition to promoting placements with our other EU partners, we have organised several conservation projects in Dorset and Somerset, are undertaking an increasing number of habitat management contracts using professionals and trainees working together, and have run training courses each year in botanical and lepidoptera identification and ecology, bumblebee conservation and id and other subjects. The CIC now acts as a hub for the wide network of volunteers, organisations and other contacts that EuCAN has cultivated since 2007. Have a look at our Flickr site to get an idea of the range of activities we have been involved with!
