My Creative Work… My creative work is often lyrical, inspired by the natural world, the darkness and beauty of the everyday and in search of women’s liberation. I’m currently working on my debut poetry pamphlet The Isolation Hospital (© LA@Mantimoon). This delves into themes such as isolation, feminine identity and exploration of our inner world. On occasion I’ll be posting from this upcoming pamphlet to give you sneak peeks of what I’ve been up to. Regular Features… I’ll be sharing features such as my ‘Haiku of the week’ and ‘Photo of the week’. Both are designed to inspire your own writing, aid quiet reflection and capture the joy of the present moment. You can also find my creative responses to weekly, creative challenges set and sent to my inbox by social enterprise 64 million artists: #TheWeeklyChallenge. We bring together the best of two worlds — advanced academic research in strategy and comprehensive expertise from business — to deliver customised training for industry leaders and help them address specific situations of strategic change. We form teams of strategy scholars and business experts who are best positioned to anticipate and understand critical shifts in an industry. Together they design a unique learning experience around a strategic problem that organisations in that industry are going to face. Then they deliver engaging sessions of collaborative learning that greatly improve participants’ strategic thinking. We can help you... Think ...to understand change As a leader, you deal with continuous change. You look at the ever new opportunities and challenges arising from technological innovation, from advancements in knowledge and science, from new trends in society, and from transformations in the natural environment. And you wonder. The history of business offers countless examples of dominant firms that have been wiped out by a change that they did not see coming. Understanding the nature and magnitude of change is key. It is the first step towards formulating a new strategy and designing a new role for your organisation. But problems are increasingly complex and interconnected. Traditional knowledge and standard ‘business school frameworks’ don’t always apply to these extraordinary situations. Through tailored, problem-based learning, we help you gain complete understanding of the changes to come. Learn ...to create a new vision Every minor shift in any industry has the potential to turn into that ‘big change’. The change that creates new scenarios of use, defines new business roles and relationships and gives rise to new leaders. To remain relevant, today’s leaders must gain a different understanding of strategy. We take you on a journey that will reframe your thinking. We help you ‘see’ today the impact that transformations in the business environment will have on your organisation tomorrow. Together we assess options, we travel pathways and we explore sinergies to find innovative solutions for the future. Together we create a new vision.

Stockton Sixth Form College

Stockton-on-Tees

Stockton Sixth Form College has built an exceptional reputation for academic achievement over many years and, as the only specialist sixth form college in Stockton on Tees, has over 40 years’ experience delivering A-level, BTEC and GCSE qualifications to students aged 16-19 from across the region. In 2016, we became the first sixth form college in 18 years to merge, when we formalised our working partnership with Prior Pursglove College. The merger helped safeguard sixth form college education in each respective borough and now enables us to move forward in a strong position to fulfil our vision of offering high quality education across a wide range of courses in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Ofsted judged Stockton Sixth Form to be a ‘Good’ college across all areas in its latest report, noting “high success rates across all levels of study” and “very effective support for students”. Inspectors commented on “lively and dynamic” learning facilitated by staff who “motivate students strongly to complete high quality work to fulfil their potential”. You can read the full report here. The college has a vibrant, diverse and friendly environment with around 600 students. We are committed to providing inspirational teaching led by staff who are specialists in their field. The small and inclusive nature of the college enables us to keep class sizes to a minimum – an average of 15 students per lesson – ensuring each student is given the individual support needed to excel. It is our focus on developing students into all-round individuals that enables students to secure their next step successfully. Ofsted recognised that the college “prepares students well for progression to their next steps” and that “all completing students had a positive destination to either further or higher education or employment”. Progression on to higher education from Stockton Sixth Form College bucks the national trend and we also offer a prestigious scholarship opportunity for students who achieve a place to study at Oxbridge.

Bournemouth Futsal Club

bournemouth futsal club

Poole

Futsal began in the South American countries of Uruguay and Brazil where, in the 1930’s, two versions of Small Sided Soccer were being played in the cities of Montevideo and Sao Paulo respectively. In Brazil, the large crowded cities and a shortage of playing pitches forced a soccer mad populace to play small sided soccer. A version began to develop on the streets of Sao Paulo, leading to the publishing of the first rules of the game in 1936 from the country that would soon become the masters of the game. Skills and techniques honed in Futsal soon began to become apparent in the performance of Brazil’s National Team – Pele, Rivelino and Zico all played the game at some time in their development. The adoption of the game by FIFA has led to its spread throughout the world. There are large numbers of registered players in Europe, South America and Asia. There are more than 50 national leagues and even Professional Futsal leagues in Brazil, Iran, Japan, Italy, Portugal, Spain & Russia. Futsal gets terrestrial TV coverage in Spain, Italy, Brazil, Croatia, Romania, Ukraine and Russia. Futsal is the fastest growing indoor sport in the world, and is the small sided football format that is officially recognised by both UEFA and FIFA. The nature of the game places a large emphasis on technical skill and ability in situations of high pressure, and is subsequently an excellent breeding ground for football competencies that can be translated into the 11-a-side format of the game. Futsal was the name chosen by FIFA, which is simply a combination of the Spanish words for ‘hall’ (Sala) and ‘football’ (Futbol): hence ‘Futsal’. Many of the top world class footballers played Futsal in their youth and credit it with supporting their footballing development; players of the calibre of Pele, Zico, Ronaldinho, Kaka and Lionel Messi to name but a few of the South American legends who all played and enjoyed Futsal. But Futsal has not just helped produce South American football stars. On the European stage Cristiano Ronaldo, Deco, Xavi and Fabregas, amongst many others, have played Futsal to develop their skills.
