Tracy Benton MDPF has been in the industry for over 25 years; after passing basic floristry qualifications she started up her own business whilst raising her two children. Once they started in full time education, Tracy went back to college and after that there was no stopping her! She achieved the L3 Advanced National Certificate in Floristry, L4 Higher Diploma in Floristry and the Certificate in Education within 5 years whilst running her own retail florist shop in Kent. Tracy then completed the Master Diploma in January 2014; the highest qualification you can receive in the UK with Distinction and also received the highest grade throughout the UK for the practical exam. Furthermore, She also attends numerous CPD courses to ensure she retains her position in the industry. Tracy understands what a vital tool CPD is and has had the opportunity to attend the House of Commons on behalf of Institute for Learning Skills Council to talk about her own subject specialism and how it enhances the industry. Invited to launch Institute of Professional Floristry in the Houses of Commons (2015). Tracy then went on to complete a gruelling 2-year training programme to become a member of the UK Floristry Judges Guild so that her highest professional standards filter down into a professional industry.Tracy also has had the pleasure of being a Consultant to City & Guilds for several years re-writing the level 2 & level 3 qualifications so that they are current, commercial and in-line with what the florist needs and is now Principal Moderator for C&G Technical qualifications.Tracy Benton is now the Principal of Blooms of Benton Floral Academy after being a full-time lecturer at Hadlow College for over 15 years, she takes pride in teaching the importance of fine workmanship and always strives to maintain high standards in the industry.

IH Bristol was started in 1987 as The Language Project by Val, while studying for her PhD. The school has been teaching students ever since and it is the biggest remaining family owned and operated language school in Bristol. We joined the International House global network of affiliated language schools in 2009 and are proud to be members of such a highly regarded, diverse and vibrant organisation. Over the course of the years we expanded into two beautiful period buildings in the Clifton distric and diversified into teacher training, exams, junior summer - and winter - school and foreign languages. In 2019-2020 we added a new custom-built student common room to our Queens Avenue building, furthering our ambition to always put the student experience first. IH Bristol aims to give back to the community: we have taught many refugee classes in Bristol and have been involved in development projects in Cuba, Angola and Vietnam. We adapter our buildings for Covid very early so that we could facilitate English exams for medical professionals needed by the NHS. And let's not forget our free exercises and our Phrase of the Day videos, which can help students worldwide to increase their knowledge on a daily basis. We are working towards making our operation more environmentally sustainable and have so far installed 100s of ultra low energy light fittings and fixtures and sophisticated heating controls. Capital of Cycling was born in 2017 out of a coalition of cycling organisations in Bradford. It was formed to bring together all the wonderful work being done to promote cycling in Bradford. We are a small team of 7 employees, most of whom work part time.We have access to a workshop area where we teach maintenance classes, teach skills to volunteers, do up bikes for community groups and run drop-in sessions for members of the public to fix their own bikes. Our indoor track is used by other community organisations to offer weather proof cycling activity and for us to run cycle lessons in the dry.
