Vicki is a qualified teacher with over 20 years’ experience in schools, colleges and universities. She worked as a secondary school teacher for a number of years before working with students with additional needs. After several years running programmes for young people and adults in the FE sector, Vicki undertook a Masters in Education, specialising in Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs), along with additional training to assess for dyslexia. She is also a qualified SENCO and worked for several years as an Advisory Teacher for the local authority. Vicki currently works part-time in a HE setting assessing and tutoring individuals with specific learning difficulties. NINE ARCHES PRESS was founded in 2008 and emerged from an awareness of the local literary landscape and a desire to provide a platform for new and emerging poets. As a result, Under the Radar magazine was set up first, and Nine Arches Press swiftly moved onto publishing pamphlets by October of that year. By the following year we had brought out our first two full-length poetry collections, and a further batch of poetry pamphlets and issues of the magazine. Since 2008, Nine Arches has continued onwards and upwards, publishing poetry and continuing to develop Under the Radar magazine. In 2010, two of our pamphlets (The Terrors by Tom Chivers and The Titanic Cafe closes its doors and hits the rocks by David Hart, both now out of print) were shortlisted for the Michael Marks Poetry Pamphlet prize. Next, Mark Goodwin's book Shod won the 2011 East Midlands Book Award. In 2017, All My Mad Mothers by Jacqueline Saphra was shortlisted for the TS Eliot Poetry Prize. Our titles have also been shortlisted for the Michael Murphy Prize, and in 2016 David Clarke's debut poems, Arc, was longlisted for the Polari Prize. To date we have now published over seventy poetry publications, and 20 issues of Under the Radar magazine (and counting). In addition to publishing, we are keen to participate in the wider creative community of writing, listening, reading and sharing. We run regular creative writing workshops, and offer workshops and masterclasses at a variety of festivals. We also co-run Leicester Shindig, a bi-monthly poetry open mic night, at The Western in Leicester, and are involved in a variety of live poetry events both regionally and nationally. Nine Arches Press places a high value on good, concise editing and in working closely with all of our authors and poets to ensure high-quality publications that we will both be proud to put our names to. Our status as an independent press gives us freedom to take risks and closely support the writers whose work we really believe in. Nine Arches’ aim is to publish bold, diverse and distinctive new writing, an invitation to an adventure in poetry for our readers. When looking for new writers to publish, the priority is always towards work that will excite, surprise or delight readers. With eclectic and wide-ranging tastes inspiring and informing Nine Arches Press, we do not believe in defining a 'type' or genre of work to publish, beyond saying that the main criteria is to select high-quality original work with a unique voice all of its own. We are also keen to increase the amount of poetry we consider and publish by writers from diverse backgrounds, and actively encourage submissions from writers who have been traditionally under-represented in poetry publishing in the UK. We are a friendly and approachable DMT and Trampoline club based at Cambourne Fitness and Sports Centre, Cambridgeshire, who welcome bouncers of all ages and abilities from beginners through to National Competitors. We are registered with British Gymnastics through whom all our coaches and committee are trained and are dedicated to providing positive trampolining opportunities for all within Cambridgeshire and the surrounding areas. How do we operate: Cambourne Comets is run by a committee of volunteers and we employ a number of coaches up to level 3. We believe in communication and accountability and are fully committed to the welfare of the children bouncing with us. Safeguarding: We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. To ensure the welfare and safety of our members the Club has adopted in full the British Gymnastics 'Health, Safety and Welfare' policy, Safeguarding and Protecting Children Policy and their 'Child protection Policy' We have appointed welfare officers who are fully involved in the running of the club and with whom issues can be raised. What days do we train? Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. We also offer Double Mini Trampoline (DMT) sessions on Thursdays at 5.30 pm and 6.30pm. How much does it cost? Sessions cost £5.50 and run for an hour. You will be invoiced at the beginning of each term. We are happy to allow the payments to be spread over the term but ask all accounts are cleared before the last week of the term. We will assume membership is continuing unless we are emailed to confirm cancellation. Payment is done by bank transfer of which details will be sent with invoice. How are the sessions run? Sessions have either 2 or 3 classes running at the same time and bouncers are allocated a coach to suit their skills and needs. We provide one-to-one coaching to ensure we meet the individual needs of the member. Bouncers will take part in a five minute floor warm up at the start of the session, followed by a warm up on the trampoline bed and then they are all set to train. What should you wear? Suitable sports clothing without buttons, zips, toggles, hoods etc that may get caught on the bed Trampoline shoes or socks are a must. Jewellery, watches, badges and anything else that may catch must be removed. Long hair must be tied back. Club Membership: Regular bouncers will be expected to become members of Cambourne Comets Trampoline Club and British Gymnastics (BG). Fees are payable monthly thereafter preferably by standing order. Recreational club membership costs £45 and includes affliation to Eastern Counties Gymnastic Association (ECGA). Taster sessions: We offer a taster session so that you can "try before you buy" where you can come along and meet the coaches and train with other members. There is no charge for the trial session if you decide not to join the club. Holiday sessions: Holiday sessions are handled on a pay as you go basis and must be booked and paid for in advance.

Hello and welcome – thanks for dropping in. My name is Adrian Lloyd although those that know me well find that Ade is what I answer to best. I am a full-time designer, maker and teacher and am passionate about traditional handcrafts. I live and work in North West Cumbria in a tiny farming hamlet nestled mid-way between the northernmost edge of the Lake District National Park and the Solway Coast. Most of my making and teaching takes place in an original threshing barn, one of several historic outbuildings, which, along with our 300-year-old farmhouse, surround a cobbled courtyard. I specialise in creating beautiful, functional, traditional hand-crafted items from green wood (that is wood that looks like a freshly felled tree and still contains all of its moisture) using traditional methods and razor-sharp hand tools like axes and knives. My craft is for everyday use in the kitchen and around the home, it is designed to be used hard and for a long time, hopefully by generations of the same family. I developed my passion for handcraft from a very young age and thrive when being able to ignite a new passion for creativity in others. After a design-based university education, I then spent nearly the next twenty years teaching children and adults in both formal and informal education settings, indoors and out. However, I then took the decision to pursue craft on a full-time basis and now earn my living from all things Slöjd! I have been carving on and off for the best part of probably thirty years and have added turning, furniture making, basket weaving and anything else green wood along the way. I also do some blacksmithing, bladesmithing and tool making and make all of my own bowl turning tools. I can normally be found somewhere along or between the length and breadth of this great island teaching some aspect of this wonderful craft we call greenwood, or holed up bothering some wood in my farmhouse workshop in Cumbria. I try to use only locally sourced British hardwoods in my craft that are harvested from either wind-blown trees or from sustainably managed woodland as part of a natural thinning and woodland regeneration process. I have favourite woods for specific purposes but will generally use any wood that is suitable for the function and form of the piece being worked on. I have a real interest in the way our relationships with the natural environment develop and have studied for qualifications in bushcraft leadership, practical ethnobotany and plant identification, wildlife identification and tracking and woodland management, including the identification and management of veteran trees. I draw on this knowledge and experience to ensure my teaching provides rich, holistic and rewarding learning opportunities. I graduated from the University of Southampton with a BA in Philosophy and Politics and a Master’s degree in International Relations and Development Studies. During my post-graduate degree, I was employed by the Politics Department as an undergraduate group tutor. After this, I worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Bournemouth until I made the decision to leave academia and work in the charity sector. I spent years working in the charity sector until I was diagnosed with a chronic illness that limited my mobility for almost a decade. During this time, I realised I needed to think creatively about work and that’s when my entrepreneurial side sparked and I decided to start my own business, working from home. I completed multiple courses in teaching English as a second language (ESL) as well as a Cambridge English course on how to coach people for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam. From 2016 to 2022 I successfully tutored in ESL, IELTS and GCSE English language and later public speaking skills for teens (from 2019). During this time, I also joined Toastmasters International and that’s when my speaking career took off. Winning multiple awards at Toastmaster speech contests at local, regional and even national levels, I learned an incredible lesson; that the skill of public speaking isn’t something you’re born with, it’s a skill you learn, a skill everyone can learn. I experienced first-hand that becoming a confident speaker isn’t like any other skill in life. It’s a skill that transforms your life on many levels. When the fear of public speaking is no longer a feature in your life you feel freer without it hanging over you. Being confident in front of a crowd also means you feel more confident in other areas of your life and this naturally gives you a sense of wellbeing. Going through this amazing transformation myself, I soon developed a passion for helping others be the confident speakers they want to be. Now I run my own business in presentation skills for both online and offline platforms and have a range of programmes. I have a 7-week course for business owners who want to speak with confidence on camera for videos that attract their ideal clients. I also run three online group coaching speakers’ clubs for those who want more long-term, regular support: For university students and young adults who want to develop their presentation and interview skills. For non-native English speakers who want to develop their presentation skills and confidence in delivering talks in their second language. For business owners who want to develop a range of speaking skills for their business such as pitching, storytelling, selling on webinars and delivering training and online courses. I truly believe that being able to engage, persuade and simply amaze your audience is one of the single most powerful skills you can have in life and in business. I also believe that everyone can break through their fear and be the confident speaker they want to be. I believe everyone can breakthrough their fear of public speaking, find their voice, master presentation skills and speak with impact to persuade, inspire and lead.

Sarah Louise Dix Upholstery was formed in 2005 by Sarah Dix. The business comprises of the Couture Label, the Pink Label, SLD Upholstery Services and upholstery courses & workshops. The Couture Label evolved from fusion ideas and specialises in the design and upholstery of quality vintage furniture inspired by the construction and form of clothing. The label’s designs are part artwork part furniture creating highly individual finished pieces. Some designs physically incorporate a vintage garment creating a surreal air while others have structural elements such as corsetry, the Corset Chair, or tailoring. Sarah’s furniture was shown at the London menswear show Stitch in February 2010 on the Blaqua menswear stand and were stocked at their shops in Newburg Street W1 and Kings Road SW3. In November 2013 Sarah bought an antique chaise longue from Katherine Higgins on BBC Put your Money Where your Mouth Is and reupholstered it in red velvet and faux fur with a corset back. Then in February 2014 She sold the Corset Chaise to Jeff Salmon on the Channel 4 TV programme Four Rooms for £1200. 2010 saw the launch of the Pink Label. The Pink Label is the diffusion range and produces the Corset Chair at a more affordable price. The original Corset Chair design has been simplified, the frames are new exact copies of the original Victorian shape and are upholstered using modern materials. Sarah also sold the chairs at Follet in Petworth, Sussex in 2012. The Upholstery Courses were introduced in January 2012 and run for ten weeks. The first teaching venue was at The National Trust property the Barge Building Shed. Dapdune Wharf. Guildford. Sarah had a residency there and courses run throughout the year in stunning surroundings, on the banks of the River Wey. She also launched courses in the studio space at The Art Works in East Horsley. This was a unique space selling contemporary arts and crafts. Other course locations were in Farnham, Grayshott and Cranleigh Arts Centre. Once Sarah was able to take on her own space in Godalming, the courses ran inhouse from then on. The spaces include Studio 22 and Bargate House and the current property in Farncombe. The courses are very popular and often over subscribed. Sarah also runs Beginners Footstool day workshops once a month on a Saturday. The workshops give a great introduction to upholstery and helpful when considering undertaking a ten week course. SLD Upholstery Services offers a full reupholstery service for clients. This service has been running alongside the design side and courses from the beginning. The workroom now has four professional upholsterers working on various pieces of furniture for customers. This can range from a cushion cover to a three piece suit. The company has undertaken work from a variety of people such as titled Ladies, artists to royalty, Pop Stars (a pink latex bed for Nicki Minaj’s world tour 2018), partners in top London banks and Mrs Judge from around the corner. She gets to visit the most amazing houses including one once owned by Chris Evans and Mary Wondrausch's unique home crammed with her pottery. Sarah continues to expand the shop and fabric accounts with fabrics available from fabric houses such as Designers Guild, Romo, Osbourne & Little, Christian Lacroix.

We are looking at it as an enthusiastic learner looking in from the outside. Soon she progressed from organising social salsa groups to co-teaching with some of the best local teachers and has continually improved her dancing skills by learning from the best of national and international teachers, at classes and conventions around Europe as well as in Cuba. While her dancing continues to improve, taking it to the stage and later on choreographing different dance groups, it is her strong business background and warm personality that brought success to Cuban Salsa School (went from zero to the biggest salsa school in town). During her time running the school, she built another passion on the back of it as a teacher. Continuously improving her teaching method, she then passed on her knowledge to her team of instructors (who now have gone and teach their own classes). Following her relocation, she is now managing Cuban Salsa School in the current format that allows her to continue working on it remotely. Col has also been dancing Cuban Salsa since 2009 and is known as one of the top Cuban style dancers in the Edinburgh scene. He then moved out of the country but still maintain his passion for Cuban Salsa wherever he goes even to this day. His experience includes: founding Salsa4Water Edinburgh, a group dedicated to raising money for Wateraid which soon became one of the most popular Cuban Salsa groups in the city; trained by the highly regarded Ballet Folklorico Cutumba and Raices Profunda, and also had private classes with former members of casino.com (Cuba’s most famous Rueda group) and profesoras de CFN (Conjucto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba) during his visits to Cuba; co-founded the successful Cuban Salsa School in Edinburgh; also at the moment Col belongs to Oye Timberos performance group in Warsaw, training and performing regularly. Col’s speciality is dancing with connection to the music and he draws on his extensive experience as a musician to help teach this to his students as well as developing the key techniques that allow someone from a non-dancing background to learn authentic Cuban body movement and style.
