Second Floor Studios & Arts (SFSA) was established in 1997. It is a leading arts organisation providing affordable studio space for visual and fine artists' and craft and designer makers. Our core aim is providing best quality studios at monthly rental prices our studio members can afford and whom would otherwise struggle to find comparable studio workspace on the open commercial market. Aims: • to provide a supportive environment in which our members can flourish, allowing for the time and the space needed to research, develop, experiment and make their work. • to support continual professional development beyond the physical studio space for our community. Foster a vibrant environment of peer support, networking and collaboration. My name is Eva. I am a qualified and experienced counsellor based in Castlewellan, Co. Down. I have been a practising counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist since 2004. I studied in Coventry University from 1993 to 1996 and have a BA (Hons) in Applied Social Sciences. I have a post graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (2002- 2004) and I am a Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders and Obesity (National Centre for Eating Disorders 2007-2008). I am BACP Accredited so abide to their professional standards and ethical framework of good practice. Counselling is an excellent tool for discovering yourself. At Empower, it’s so important that clients see themselves as the people with the power and the ability to improve their quality of life as they grow. Testimony I struggled for years with anxiety and depression without really knowing why and always searching for the ‘fix’. When I started with Eva I wanted her to fix me. It was only with her support and guidance that I came to realise where my pain was coming from and how to learn from it and how to understand my feelings. It was a real journey of self discovery for me. Now I understand there is no magic cure, but there doesn’t need to be. Ive learned to accept myself and to allow the feelings to come and go without taking over my life. This really has been life changing for me. I feel strong for the first time and am ready to live the life I choose to live.

Our goal is simple – we want children to reach higher, maximising their talents to achieve the best start in life. Sarah is supported by a professional team who also have the same drive to enable students to achieve beyond their own expectations. As Teach Perfect matures, we will add more subjects to our learning programme and more teaching professionals will join us. However, we will never lose sight of our mission, which is to ensure every one of our students is taught by an exceptional tutor and their life chances are improved.

We want as many kids to experience cricket as possible and, ultimately, go on play cricket as adults. In between, that means we have to develop a culture of excellence in building participation through mass outreach, working with local schools and the community, inspiring a lifelong love of cricket by identifying and nurturing talents and enabling the kids to develop as far as they can. By enjoying what they do and having fun. We have a track record of doing that over 15 years at Staplehurst Cricket & Tennis Club. Now, as Weald Coaching, we are commiting all our time and energies to building on it. We are intent on creating a series of programmes that cater appropriately for every child, whatever their current level of cricket capability, from complete beginner to high performance athlete. And attracting the dedicated resources and coaching capacity for that to happen. But it also means doing some things differently. Our approach pre-dated the development of ECB national programmes and we think we have more experience and knowledge to deliver an all round offer to kids at the youngest ages without the constraints of weekly coaching schedules and some session plans which ignore the kids’ levels of awareness of what cricket is. Similarly, we have created a competitive cricket offer at ages 8 through to 16 which accommodates the kids’ capabilities, not simply their age. Where the emphasis is on participation and development and not the strongest cricketers or simply winning. Yet, we intend delivering more appropriate playing opportunities, week-on-week, than has been possible previously.

Blackrock Athletic Club was founded in 1944. From a small beginning during World War 2 it has developed into the biggest athletic club in the country. The club evolved from a volunteer military unit and started out with around 20 members, many of whom first came into contact with athletics through inter-service (army) competition. Joe Hodgins brought the first national title in 1950 and since then it has grown from strength. In the initial stages, it catered for men only. The main reason for the exclusion of women from athletics stemmed from the church’s opposition to them participating in a sport that demanded physical exertion. It was to take a further 25 years before there was a change in attitude in this respect, which allowed for the introduction of athletic competition for women. The club has benefitted immensely from this development. A few efforts were made to get juvenile athletics of the ground before the current junior section was established in 1980. It has continued to grow and expand and today there is a queue up of young children waiting to get in. A Fit4Life section was introduced to the club in 2013. This development allows runners and joggers to enjoy all the benefits of running in a social, safe and organised environment. The club has come a long way in that it can now cater for everyone, irrespective of their ability, that wants to run. The club’s training grounds is at the picturesque Carysfort Park, Blackrock where it has been in situ since 1994.
