My name is Joel Chapman. I am a dance instructor from York, England. I became inspired by Latin and Ballroom dancing at the age of 15 after watching the hit ballroom stage show 'Burn the Floor'. My first few years were spent training in Leeds, where I achieved distinctions in all of my exams and won the national UKA championships. As I became keener to grow and develop as a dancer, I began training at Semley Studios in London, considered to be the most prestigious Latin and Ballroom training centre in the world. Here, I was coached by some of the biggest names in the business, including Strictly come Dancing's Matt and Nicole Cutler. I have also been coached by World Ballroom Champions Kyle Taylor and Scott Draper. Whilst attaining successes in the competitive world, including the UK Quarter Finals and winning the Ballroom category at the Britain's Best Dancer awards, I wanted to invest my energies into teaching. After many years of hard work and determination, I am the go-to Latin and Ballroom teacher in York. Whether you are a couple training for competitions or a retired couple looking for social dance lessons, I can offer you classes to suit your needs. I also do group classes in many different styles, offering students the opportunity to perform regularly.

The Grafton Academy of Fashion Design was founded in 1938 by Pauline Elizabeth Keller Clotworthy. Born in 1912, Pauline was brought up in a large house in Glenageary, with several generations of family around her. Pauline showed a keen interest in sketching and writing and went on to study at Dublin's Metropolitan School of Art (now the National College of Art and Design). It was there that one of Pauline's tutors, artist Seán Keating cautioned her on turning her life drawing into fashion illustrations, this only encouraged Pauline who then went on to study the art of representing fabrics and textures using watercolour in Browns Paris School of Fashion in London. Upon her return to Dublin, Pauline was advised to further educate herself on how to realise her fashion drawings. Pauline returned to London to train at the British institute of Dress Designing. Pauline, understanding that she had benefited from an education that was not available in Ireland, decided she wanted to share the skills she had acquired. Shortly after graduating in 1938, Pauline established the Grafton Academy, Ireland's first design school and within a year it had staged its debut show. Early graduates from the college include Neilli Mulcahy, Ib Jorgensen and Clodagh Phillips, all of whom made a significant contribution in promoting Irish fashion culture, both home and abroad.

New Ashgate Gallery, a non-profit making trust, cultivates the pursuit of excellence in a marketplace environment, with support to emerging artists, by exhibiting work and through professional development. We promote the creative process for all communities through workshops, talks and outreach work. We provide an unparalleled resource in Farnham, Surrey and beyond. History In doing all this we have a direct line of continuity with our beginnings. Elizabeth Naydler, who founded the Gallery in 1959, had aspirations to bring quality art to Farnham, with the first provincial exhibitions of nationally and internationally known sculptors and artists such as Henry Moore, Anthony Caro, Elizabeth Frink, Barbara Hepworth, Picasso, Sandra Blow, Mary Fedden, Peter Blake, whilst at the same nurturing local talent and helping the careers of the next generation of artists and crafts people through exhibitions, sale of work and prizes and scholarships. The Gallery moved into Waggon Yard in 1966 - in 2016 the Trust celebrated its 50th anniversary in the 17th century Grade II building in in the centre of the Farnham Craft Town. During the years, the gallery has administered the profits from craft and art sales to create prizes and scholarships, and for the purchase of artworks for local and national museums. It was one of the first provincial galleries to show artists with an international reputation as well as supporting local talent.

Kasten’s Dog Training is a family run business that was founded to help you breathe life into your dog. After 18 years in the corporate world as Director of Operations for a local company, Steve Kasten felt inspired to take a leap of faith and start Contain-A-Pet by Kasten’s Dog Training, a company that uses electric fencing to protect thousands of pets allowing them to play safely in their yards. However, Steve soon realized that he wanted to do more for dogs and their owners. He decided to attend a nationally renowned school for dog training to enhance his existing knowledge of dogs and their behaviors and become a dog trainer who also installed electronic pet fencing. Steve has since attended many seminars and classes furthering his knowledge on dog training. In April 2016, the new Kasten’s Dog Training facility opened and after 11 years of selling, installing, and servicing electronic pet fences, Steve, after much thought and prayer, relinquished his Contain-A-Pet license and made another leap of faith into full time dog training. The new facility offers residency training, boarding, training classes, puppy preschool, and more. EAQ® - Home of Horse-based Learning and Education EAQ® (Equine Assisted Qualifications) sets and monitors quality standards for its equine assisted learning centres and provides training and qualifications for facilitators and others involved with equine assisted learning. There are a number of EAQ Approved Centres in the UK offering interaction with horses for children, young people and adults leading to nationally-recognised qualifications. Training for Facilitators EAQ offers a number of training programmes for facilitators including the Level 4 Certificate in Facilitating Equine Assisted Learning. The Level 4 Certificate is a national qualification which is regulated in the UK by Ofqual. Training is available for facilitators, horse professionals, tutors, assessors and practitioners of equine assisted learning. Courses run throughout the year. You need to take part in an online Introduction Day before enrolling on the facilitator training. Please check the Events page for the next Introduction Day. Training can be a mix of online and face to face sessions. EAQ Approved Centres EAQ Approved Centres have met quality standards including horse handling, the environment and staff qualifications. Their staff have been specially trained to offer equine assisted learning sessions to individuals and groups from all walks of life. Some centres specialise in certain areas, such as working with children and young people who are excluded from shcool.

Dr. Erica Colón is a National Board Certified Teacher with over twelve years of teaching experience in 6th-12th grade secondary science, including Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, and Marine Science. In 2008 Erica earned her Master’s in Educational Administration, but quickly realized her passion was working with science teachers. Erica returned to earn her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction in 2011, and through one of life’s unexpected turns, she founded Nitty Gritty Science, LLC and has reached tens of thousands of science teachers all around the globe! In 2020, a global pandemic changed the course of history, quickly changing our daily lives in all aspects, and in the scope of education it changed how teachers taught and how students learned. Everywhere educators faced pandemic-driven remote learning that they had to navigate on their own, practically overnight. Opening Up Cricket was formed in 2014 in response to the death of Sefton Park CC wicket keeper Alex Miller and a will to promote positive mental health in our sport. Alex took his own life in December 2012 and in the year that followed team mates supported the work of C.A.L.M to pay tribute. This has continued but as the season following his passing came to a close there was a thought to do something lasting and further reaching. As a result, the organisation was created with the aim of speaking to local cricketers about the experience of losing Alex in the hope that more conversations about this topic could prevent further tragedies. Now, in 2022, we have delivered over 400 sessions across the United Kingdom and Australia. The desire to get our message to the cricketing community remains as strong as ever. We are run by unpaid volunteers with help from the National Lottery Community Fund who have provided a grant for sessions costs so that groups can receive them without charge. We also owe a lot of thanks to the support provided by clubs, leagues and partners who have supported in many ways more to allow us to go further than the grant. Currently we are registered as a Community Interest Company but have now applied for registered charity status.
