We are a College of Further Education, providing and delivering BTEC Level 2 & 3 extended National Diplomas in Sport (Rugby). Our campus is based at Sedgley Park RUFC, a National Level 2 North Rugby Union club, in Whitefield, Greater Manchester. This is the first college of its kind to be based in a working rugby club, using the ethos and values of the game to help teach and mould the future generations playing, coaching and running this wonderful game of rugby. The advantages to our students are many, such as the opportunity to observe, first hand, how a semi-professional club runs and operates and how multi-discipline services are delivered. Our teams will compete in the AOC Colleges Leagues, competing regionally and nationally in both league and cup competitions. Our courses place the essential ethos, disciplines and philosophies of rugby as central to our core delivery. We firmly believe that these values will equip our young people to make the most of their particular skill sets and personal attributes, in order to positively progress into their chosen professional lives. Watertrain is the predominant provider of high-quality technical training and qualification programmes to the water sector. Watertrain has been the leading provider of apprenticeships and other qualifications to the water utility sector since 2007. Watertrain sees its role as helping employers find effective solutions to immediate training needs and longer term staff development – whether through knowledge and/or competency qualifications or bespoke training interventions. Watertrain are experts in the development of nationally accredited qualifications that have been designed and written following consultation with sector employers to ensure that the resultant qualification is fit for purpose and meets their organisational needs. In conjunction with CABWI, the water sector awarding body, Watertrain developed the Level 4 Diploma in Water Industry Operations and Management. This provides an excellent grounding for graduate entrants to the sector as well as an effective progression route for those individuals that maybe in their first line management role and need to gain more knowledge and understanding at a higher and wider level. Watertrain has also now developed, again in conjunction with CABWI and wide consultation with employers, 5 new Level 3 combined qualifications. The evidence portfolio Watertrain has designed for each qualification can also be used to generate the competency and knowledge evidence to achieve the 70% required for End Point Assessment in the Water Process Technician Apprenticeship Standard. Watertrain also has an excellent competency assessment tool that can help identify current weaknesses in the level of knowledge being applied by operational teams across your business. This assessment process provides a very effective Training Needs Analysis which then optimises budget spend and targets training interventions.
