About Miss Vidler IT Our consultant Rachel Vidler is a qualified Primary school teacher, with a wealth of experience in both teaching and technology. Her teaching and ability to engage and inspire children through the use of technology, has been recognised, with her winning the prestigious Most Inspirational Teacher of the Year 2018 award. Her previous career in primary schools allows her to give support and guidance from all aspects of the profession, as she has been as a teacher, a coach and mentor, a member of senior leadership and a member of the governing body. She holds a first-class BEd (Hons) degree with QTS, alongside her NPQML qualification. Rachel was one of the first teachers to complete the DfE Subject Leader Expert qualification in 2015, working as an SLE for computing across the county. She now supports STEM Learning and the National Centre for Computing Education as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), working with schools across the East Midlands, East of England and East and South Yorkshire. Rachel also works alongside the NCCE nationally, as a Facilitator for their Teach Computing Primary Courses. Rachel proudly supports the Denbigh School Computing Hub working as their Primary Lead for Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire. She works alongside the Hub Lead to support schools in the area, boosting engagement in computing and hosting CPD for teachers.

The key objectives for the Confucius Institute for Scotland are: to help develop effective Sino-Scottish business, cultural and academic links to offer an extensive programme of Chinese language training to act as a bridge between Scotland and China, aiding understanding and facilitating engagement to be a major point of reference for Sino-Scottish relations in the areas of education, business and culture to work with other stakeholders to develop greater awareness of China in Scotland The Confucius Institute for Scotland also builds on existing links within the University of Edinburgh to various academic and cultural institutions in China. Thank you to Booterstown National School for giving us a spot to promote our Master Chess Club at their recent Winter Fair. It was a fantastic day, full of great fun and lots of chess! And, importantly we also raised much needed funds for the school. Thank you to all who stopped to say hello, to play chess and to make a donation. Looking forward to welcoming some new members to our Master Club! I have been sewing for as long as I can remember, starting with making dolls clothes as a child, and later progressing onto dressmaking and then quilting. I attended courses and over the years have developed my own style and designs. My aim is to give this traditional craft a contemporary twist with the use of vibrant colours and bold designs. I make all the quilts myself in my home studio. I have a flair for combining colours to create a strong visual impact The inspiration for many of my designs comes from the countryside and creatures which surround me, from pecking chickens, frisking horses and buzzing bees to poppy fields and beautiful garden flowers. My quilts are exhibited at national craft fairs throughout the UK and have been featured in 'Country Living' and 'Aspire magazines'. They are shipped worldwide. Quilting Workshops... Would you like to spend a relaxing and stress free day or weekend? Would you like to learn to quilt? Come along to one of my quilting workshops, run regularly across Herefordshire and Wales. ABC Paramedic Services was set up by our Training and Event Manager, Craig Gray. Craig spent fifteen years working in front line Emergency Services within the Scottish Ambulance Service in Edinburgh. The final six years of this was spent as a First Response Paramedic on a Rapid Response Vehicle dealing predominately with Class A / Red (i.e. potentially life threatening) emergencies. In 2011 Craig became the first Paramedic in the history of the Scottish Ambulance Service to be awarded ‘The Chief Executive’s Special Award’ for displaying the highest levels of commitment and professionalism in his job. Craig’s considerable knowledge and expertise extends to the private sector including delivering First Aid Training to Healthcare Professionals, courses at the Royal College of Surgeons, and providing Medical Cover at events such as ‘T in the Park’, ‘The Edinburgh Tattoo’ and the ‘Queen’s Garden Party’. In 2012, Craig provided Paramedic level cover as Chief Medical Officer at the ‘Urdd National Eisteddfod’ festival in Wales with over 100,000 spectators in attendance. Craig has also employed his medical skills for charitable causes, running a medical clinic in a remote part of North East India as well as being involved in a pioneering ‘out of hospital Cardiac Arrest’ study aimed at improving CPR skills. Craig takes a very personal, hands-on approach to the business and is actively involved in the strategic developments of all training, events, and projects.
