The Bishop's Palace, Wells, SomersetThe site and buildings of The Bishop’s Palace and Gardens is owned by the Church Commissioners and operated by The Palace Trust, a registered charity which manages the site as a heritage visitor attraction. Our Purpose As stewards of this beautiful and historic place, our primary purpose is “to conserve The Bishop’s Palace and its story as a place of enjoyment and reflection for the benefit of all”. Our Vision To inspire and touch the lives of many by offering joy, healing, hope and wellbeing. Our Legacy The Palace Trust gets no statutory funding. The cost of maintaining the Palace is met entirely by grants from organisations like the National Lottery and Charitable Trusts, by Admission tickets, special events and our café. But this does not cover the entire cost of everyday maintenance, so donations to this aspect of our work are also always welcome. Likewise, the cost of conservation work cannot be met by admission fees etc. so we rely on voluntary donations to finance this aspect of our work. The annual costs vary between £400,000 and £500,000. So, this is an area where we welcome donations – large or small, regular or one-off – to enable us to carry out this vital work. The author of the courses, Gwynne Richards has over thirty-five years’ experience in warehouse management and logistics. He began his career with BRS a forerunner of Exel Logistics which later became part of DHL. He then went on to work for Dawson Group, Lane Group, Nedlloyd Districenters and DHL. Roles included Business Development Manager, Regional Manager, National Sales Manager, Customer Services and IT Manager. He founded his own logistics consultancy and training company in 2003. Gwynne works with companies through both training and consultancy to improve their logistics operations, benchmark performance and decide whether to outsource or not. His three-day face to face course on Warehouse Management is sponsored by the UKWA. The online Warehouse Management course available here is endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. (see below) He has recently co-written the Warehouse Manager’s Certificate of Professional Competence course which is accredited by the CILT and operated by the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA). He is a visiting lecturer in Supply Chain at Warwick University. He is the Course Director for the Diploma in Logistics Management which is provided through North Kent Colledge and Lloyd’s Maritime Academy. Gwynne has also lectured at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok and The Singapore Institute of Management. He runs courses in the UK, India, Malaysia, China, UAE, Africa and The Philippines. He has also produced on-line courses in Warehouse Management, Freight transport and warehousing and Logistics Outsourcing. He is a Fellow of both the CILT and the ITOL. He is a Practising Associate of the Academy of Experts. His book on Warehouse Management published by Kogan Page has sold over 20,000 copies worldwide. A fifth edition will be launched in 2025. The book has been translated into five other languages. A book on Logistics and Supply Chain tools was published in July 2016. It is also in its fourth edition. We speak to thousands of families each year, providing information and support on issues such as housing, finance, and emotional support. Our Helpline, 0800 254 0088, provides impartial information and support and is often the first port of call for families looking for help. If family members require more in-depth support, our Regional Family Support team is on hand throughout Scotland and can offer direct, 1:1 support until a positive outcome is reached.Families Outside Who we Are What we do Front Cover Our booklet entitled Who We Are & What We Do summarises the work of Families Outside and why we believe that it is so important. Award-winning conductor, pianist and composer, Claudio Di Meo has established himself internationally as an exceptional talent in orchestral and choral music, bringing clarity, integrity and dynamism to his interpretation of wide-ranging repertoire. Winner of the International Conducting Competition Westminster London with the London Classical Soloists, Claudio Di Meo began his musical life in Italy, where he studied piano, composition and conducting, winning First Prize at the Italian National Choir Conducting Competition in 2011 and First Prize at the Enrico Caruso International Competition in 2014. An ardent exponent of the music of Sibelius, Claudio is a member of the prestigious Sibelius Society Italia, whose Honorary President is Sir Antonio Pappano. Claudio Di Meo has performed regularly on the international stage, including appearances in Hungary (Olasz VendègKòrus Concert Hall, Budapest), Sri Lanka (A New Direction International Performing Arts Festival, Colombo), Mexico (Festival de las Almas, Valle de Bravo), Lebanon (Al Bustan Festival, Beirut), Singapore (The Silent Lines of Its Lips), Cyprus (Lefkoşa International Festival), France (La scene Parisienne), and the USA (2014 New Year Concert, St. John the Divine Cathedral, New York). This collection has also been published by Upper Esk Music, alongside Three Motets for the Virgin Mary, a collection of his choral music. Claudio Di Meo recognises the importance of music education and is highly skilled in developing the talent of young performers. Appointed Principal Conductor of Dacorum Youth Orchestra in September 2015, Claudio Di Meo continues to inspire a new generation of musicians with his infectious enthusiasm and commitment to achieving high levels of performance. We want as many kids to experience cricket as possible and, ultimately, go on play cricket as adults. In between, that means we have to develop a culture of excellence in building participation through mass outreach, working with local schools and the community, inspiring a lifelong love of cricket by identifying and nurturing talents and enabling the kids to develop as far as they can. By enjoying what they do and having fun. We have a track record of doing that over 15 years at Staplehurst Cricket & Tennis Club. Now, as Weald Coaching, we are commiting all our time and energies to building on it. We are intent on creating a series of programmes that cater appropriately for every child, whatever their current level of cricket capability, from complete beginner to high performance athlete. And attracting the dedicated resources and coaching capacity for that to happen. But it also means doing some things differently. Our approach pre-dated the development of ECB national programmes and we think we have more experience and knowledge to deliver an all round offer to kids at the youngest ages without the constraints of weekly coaching schedules and some session plans which ignore the kids’ levels of awareness of what cricket is. Similarly, we have created a competitive cricket offer at ages 8 through to 16 which accommodates the kids’ capabilities, not simply their age. Where the emphasis is on participation and development and not the strongest cricketers or simply winning. Yet, we intend delivering more appropriate playing opportunities, week-on-week, than has been possible previously.
