We communicate to share information. But the problem is most of the people will not listen to the lengthy discussion. The purpose of the course is to guide you to apply the effective delivery of words. After completing the course, you will be able to control your voice as a musician controls his musical instruments.
In a matter of hours, you will see a radical change in the way you deliver words.
People study for years to qualify for their chosen profession and then gain experience in the work place. They can now be considered experts. However, there is something missing - none of us were taught a communication technique (set of rules) at school, we were simply taught to string words together.
The PSR Method changes your speech pattern from instinct to technique, enabling people to become more aware of the way they speak, learn how to control their voice and the way words are delivered.
Without a technique, we are left to use our instinct.

<li>Once you've gone through all the lessons, we ask you to practise for about a week, combining the lessons.</li>
<li>When you are happy with your progress, we ask you to record the same scripts you read before you started the course. 
Place these in the folder you created and where you placed your 'Before Recordings'.</li>
<li>Send the Before and After recordings to us and Steve will assess your progress.</li>
<li>If he is satisfied you have mastered what you've been taught, he will send you your Voicemaster Diploma.</li>

Detailed Information
The Balkan region is known for its rich and diverse musical heritage, which has been influenced by various cultures and traditions over the centuries. I am launching this new course to share the finer things about Balkan music. The correct notes can be played by any musician, but how often do I find myself in tears when listening to a great musician who gets it so wrong, simply because they did not have the opportunity to travel, listen, and learn from native masters? Instead, they might have learned it third-hand or from a piece of sheet music. Western classical music notation cannot fully capture the essence of other types of music, and a metronome can stifle the authentic phrasing of asymmetric Balkan rhythms. I am not a native Balkan music master either, but I feel very privileged that I had the opportunity to learn from several of them, and engage in endless, wild jam sessions. In this course, I aim to convey not only the right musical feel but also the fervour and passion for this music.

The weekly course primarily targets melodic instruments. Tunes will be taught by ear, initially using the voice (sheet music will be sent out beforehand), and then practiced on the instrument. Special attention will be devoted to phrasing, articulation, and, of course, the typical charisma of Balkan music to give it that truly magical sound. Whilst I am a violinist and will demonstrate and lead with the violin and voice, the course is suitable for any melodic instrument.

The level is aimed at intermediate to advanced players, although ambitious and diligent lower-intermediate players will also do well.

We will briefly cover accompaniment aspects, including chord progressions, rhythm patterns, and techniques. Dedicated workshops for chordal instruments and percussion will be offered as we progress.

The course will run weekly and continuously, with no regular sessions during usual UK school holidays. Booking will be in advance in 5-session units. Each unit can be booked individually, or you can sign up for an annual booking and pay in 6 instalments distributed over the whole year, receiving a 20% discount on the total course fee. Balkan Academy Jam Session: A music making session, 3 times a year (towards the end of each term), online and in person, where course participants and their friends can play the studied material with a full-on group, including rhythm section and vocals.

Chord Progressions and Accompaniment Special: A special workshop three times a year for guitars, accordions, pianos, bass players, and similar instruments, both online and in person. This workshop delves into the details of chord progressions and accompaniment patterns, including riffs and breaks. It will be co-hosted by an experienced guitarist.
Fee: £9 for course participants, £12 for others. Dates to be announced.
Balkan Percussion Special: A workshop designed for percussionists to study the rhythm patterns and techniques related to the course material. This workshop will be co-hosted by an experienced Balkan percussionist. It is tailored to friends and bandmates of the Balkan Melody Mastery course participants, allowing the pieces to be performed together in your own groups and jam sessions.

Hi! My name is Iain and I&rsquo;m a Guitar addict. I&rsquo;ve been learning since I was 10 years old and have fallen in love with playing Guitar over and over again over the last 30 (or more) years.
I started teaching Music in 2003. At the time I was doing a World Music degree at SOAS, studying everything from West African Blues to Indian Raga. My first teaching gig was at an after school club and I immediately loved teaching Music. After graduating I got a job as Music teacher at Carlton Primary School and over the next several years I taught Music and Guitar for Hackney and Camden Music services. This gave me the opportunity to work in many different schools, teaching whole classes, small groups and one to one lessons. Working in such a wide variety of settings was the best experience any young teacher could hope for.&nbsp;
In 2012 I got my teaching qualification form the University of East London and went to work for Beal High School in Ilford. I started as a Guitar/Music teacher and then moved into their Autistic provision as a class teacher. This really made me aware of the importance of teaching in a way that suits the individual&rsquo;s needs and avoiding a &lsquo;one size fits all&rsquo; approach to education.
In 2015 I started work as a Music teacher for Harmeny Education Trust in Edinburgh. Harmey provides for children who have experienced significant trauma in their early lives and takes a therapeutic approach to education. It&rsquo;s a great place to work and we&rsquo;re now working on expanding from just Music lessons to doing media projects as well &ndash; making Youtube videos and podcasts and exploring all sorts of ways to record and express ourselves.
I have always done small bits of private teaching alongside school work and in January 2020 I decided to start a proper Guitar teaching business. And then 2 months later the pandemic hit and lockdowns started! But, as they say, necessity is the mother of invention and I&rsquo;ve been lucky to find some wonderful students online who are learning via Zoom and also expand my Youtube channel along the way.
