Diss High is a friendly and popular school set on an attractive site at the north-eastern edge of the town. We are a “standalone” academy, with an excellent record of both academic and sporting achievement. Our examination results are consistently above the county and national average and each year the majority of Sixth Form students take up places at university. We aim to offer as broad and diverse a curriculum as possible, including vocational subjects such as Construction and Travel and Tourism, as well as Art, Design Technology, Music and Drama. Our facilities include a good library and resource centre, 2 drama studios, 2 music suites (with a state-of-the-art recording studio), three art studios, four workshops, eight laboratories, two cookery rooms, six computer rooms and a media editing suite. Sixth form students also have a tutorial and social base, along with some teaching accommodation, in "Uplands House" - a large adapted Victorian House on the same site with its own Sixth Form Bistro.

Lessons are taught at our state of the art studio in Newcastle, minutes from the city centre and easy to access with free parking on site. The studio also benefits from a waiting area for parents / siblings etc. Lessons are student led and whether your goal is to learn your favourite songs, learn more about music, pass a graded exam or become a professional musician, we can help you achieve your goals. Tom has vast knowledge of both Trinity College syllabus’ as well as RSL (Rockschool) and has entered multiple students from debut grades all the way to 8, with a 100% pass rate. The studio is packed with drums, as well as many other tools which aid in learning. Students are often invited to various events and we host our own showcases at music venues in Newcastle, most recently at the Cluny, giving everyone the chance to show off their new skills.

My name is Trish and I started working in the fitness industry over 20 years ago qualifying as an Exercise to Music teacher. I continued my professional development by training with Modern Pilates and STOTT PILATES® including specialist Pilates equipment training. I presently teach several mat work classes a week as well as working with clients on a one to one basis in my private studio. I also enjoy teaching Fitness and Zumba classes l Love nothing more than moving to music working hard and having fun. Keeping myself fit and healthy has always been very impotant to me and I really enjoy helping other people to do the same. I have a particular interest in how people can be helped to integrate Pilates into their daily lives. I hope that my love and enthusiasm for this great method of exercise will help to inspire you and enable you to make changes within yourself so you too can experience the amazing benefits it can bring.

am a 27-year-old graduate of the MA Fashion Course at Central Saint Martins, specialising in Womenswear and Knitwear. I am a little bit older, with some more industry experience and I am currently running my own brand as well as tutoring for The Fashion School, and leading the Summer Fashion School. As I have studied Foundation, a BA and an MA courses at Ravensbourne and CSM, I have a lot of firsthand knowledge of the teaching styles and standard of work required at each level of education. I have a very fun youthful energy, and my work reflects themes of my own teen-hood and girlhood, with a strong influence on youth subculture. I love discussing my work and bouncing ideas of the teenagers to help them with their own projects, sharing music and laughing about current social media trends.

Bison Arts Collective is a community of artists who come together to make and share original work with audiences and to create opportunities for artists to practise & perform. Theatre is at the heart of Bison but, as well as staging short plays & new writing shows at fringe theatres, we also put on evenings of music, poetry & comedy, and we’ve produced the pilot episodes of indie film projects & audio dramas. We are currently running a monthly play reading group too, "Shakespeare Sessions” at the Theatre Deli bar & café at Leadenhall Street.
