All our children and teenagers on our books are current or former students of Dance Reality Studios therefore we know their training is excellent and we know the children really well so we can always put the best possible person forward to fit clients criteria. Queen Mary’s College has been in the forefront of the education of women ever since July 1914, when the Government of Madras instituted the Madras Women’s College. The initial intake of 33 students was housed in a modest building called ‘Capper House’. However, by 1915, the college premises were expanded through the government’s annexure of the area surrounding Capper House. At this stage it offered only Intermediate courses. In 1916 under graduate courses were offered in History and Economics. Eventually Intermediate courses in subjects like Geography, Indian Music, Physics, Chemistry and Home Science were introduced. Miss De La Hey was the first Principal of the college. The name of the college was changed to Queen Mary’s College in 1917. This college which was started on an experimental basis flourished and gained permanent status in 1918. By this time it had acquired fame and many young women who entered its portals for education, took wing after completing their courses.

Sergio & Sharon Withers Sergio & Sharon Withers Sergio & Ana Afonso Sergio & Ana Afonso Sergio Brilhante Qualified with both the ISTD and the IDTA, Sergio has extensive experience working with people from all backgrounds. In 2008 he decided to move to the UK to pursue his competitive career and become a full-time dance professional and teacher. His focus is on great technique, emotional connection with the music and of course have fun along the way. Sergio is currently in California, USA studying American Smooth and American Rhythm and will occasionally visit the studio for some coaching.Together they competed not only in Same-Sex events but were also the first and only all-male couple to participate in Professional events, challenging the notion that a couple needs to be consistent by a male and a female. As they explored the dynamics of leading and following, it felt only right to move on to the Professional field together, where they had competed for so many years. After all, if our society has developed to accept all sorts of partnerships why should in dancing be any different? They have enjoyed competing together at the most prestigious events in the UK, including the British Open that every year summons thousands of dancers across the world.

The Museum of English Rural Life is owned and managed by the University of Reading. We use our diverse and surprising collection to explore how the skills and experiences of farmers and craftspeople, past and present, can help shape our lives now and into the future. We work alongside rural people, local communities and specialist researchers to create displays and activities that engage with important debates about the future of food and the ongoing relevance of the countryside to all our lives. We were established by academics in the Department of Agriculture in 1951 to capture and record the rapidly changing countryside following World War II. The Museum is based on Redlands Road in a building originally designed by Sir Alfred Waterhouse in 1880 for local businessman Alfred Palmer, of the Huntley & Palmer biscuit company. The house then became St Andrews Hall of Residence in 1911, and in 2005 a modern extension was built onto the house for the Museum. The Museum was awarded £1.8million from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) in 2014 for the redevelopment of the galleries, reopening in October 2016. The redevelopment strengthens and renews our links with agriculture as well as enhancing our position in supporting engagement opportunities for students and academics across a wide variety of disciplines, nationally and internationally. The MERL and Reading Museum are currently in a strategic partnership as part of the Arts Council England National Portfolio 2018-2022. As Museums Partnership Reading we work together to provide cultural opportunities for Reading’s young people and diverse communities, through schools, volunteering, digital engagement and exhibitions. I would like to extend a very warm welcome to the Cox Green School website. It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself as the new Headteacher of Cox Green School from 1st January 2022. I have been part of the Senior Leadership Team at Cox Green School since 2018 and I am delighted to have been appointed to lead the school forward, working in partnership with parents and carers. As Headteacher, I will make it my duty to support our students and provide them with opportunities so that they can achieve the highest academic standards and develop their unique talents to the full. It is my belief that our students should be kind, respectful and aim for excellence in all that they do. This for me, characterises the “Cox Green Way”. The education we provide will be in line with these values and will develop your child’s knowledge, understanding and skill set so that they can become highly qualified, responsible citizens, able to participate fully in all parts of the community.
