Ffynone House began life as St Winifrede’s Convent School in the latter part of the 19th Century. Pupils were taught by nuns of the Ursuline Order, who still retain a presence at Stella Maris Convent close by. Part of the school suffered bomb damage during the Second World War and a photograph of the bombed science laboratory can be seen at Swansea Museum. The Convent continued to provide education for boys and girls after the war, and in 1964, a new block was constructed with a purpose built hall, classrooms and laboratories. However, the opening of Bishop Vaughan Catholic School in 1966 enabled a larger number of students to be accommodated, and in 1969 the convent school closed. Today, reminders of the St Winifred’s can be seen in the stained glass window in the entrance hall, the old school crest in the refectory, and the cross on the front façade. Ffynone House Ffynone House School welcomed its first pupils in 1973 when the site was acquired to establish a new independent school, founded by local businessman Mr Marshall David, under the Headship of Mrs Audrey Jackson.

Freeweaver SAORI Studio is owned by Erna Janine, who has been involved with natural textiles for over 20 years. She studied hand spinning with animal and plant fibres, botanical dyes and Viking age textile construction: warp weighted looms, tablet weaving, nalbinding, etc. at the Icelandic College for traditional handcrafts in Reyjavik. For the last four years, Erna Janine has been visiting Japan regularly to study Saori freeweaving, a handweaving technique developed by Misao Jo. Unlike traditional textile techniques, which rely on repeating patterns, Saori Weaving is freestyle, personal to the weaver and so expressive that each cloth is unique, a work of art. In addition, over the last three years Erna Janine has travelled to India for textile residencies and conferences. She has block printed in Bagru, travelled around Odisha with the D.I.S.C The Art program, attended AWAKE 2 Khadi Conference in Ahmedabad and spent time in Assam for the Art as Food, Ritual and Offering program by the Assam State Museum in Guwahati. In the early months of 2020 she also made an appearance at the International Conference on the Globalisation of Khadi in Jaipur, Rajastan and spent time with the loinloom weavers in Nagaland, Assam and Megalaya.

Art in Flux CIC was founded in 2016 at Lights of Soho gallery in London by the artists Maria Almena, Olive Gingrich and Aphra Shemza. Art in Flux is a community interest company committed to furthering the development of the media arts in the UK. We have a specific focus on under-represented groups such as artists who identify as Neurodiverse, BAME, LGBTQIA+ and women in technology. As an artist-led forum, Art in Flux offers a space for collaboration and exchange as key artists and organisations come together to profile their work. By collaborating with major institutions such as; National Gallery X and the V&A Museum, Art in Flux creates talks, exhibitions, performances, workshops and bespoke digital art commissions to brings these ideas to the wider public, championing innovation in UK arts and culture. Art in Flux provides a fluid platform to discuss strategies, processes and collective themes within the media arts and is committed to the ever-changing needs of media artists working right NOW in the UK and will remain in a dynamic state of change in order to facilitate them. Lincoln School of Jewellery is the product of it's owner - Martin Drury. Martin has a desire to bring quality jewellery design and making to as broad and audience as possible. Martin first picked up a piercing saw in 1991 when he first started attending an evening class to build a portfolio enabling him to go to University. His passion quickly led to a 1st class honors degree in Silversmithing and Jewellery at Sheffield Hallam University followed by a Masters in Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery at the prestigious Royal College of Art in London. Since embarking on his professional career in 1998, Martin has taught at the University of the Creative Arts,Surrey, Loughborough College of Art and Design, The Royal College of Art and our very own University of Lincoln. He has worked for many jewellers and designers including Professor David Watkins, Wendy Ramshaw OBE, Onno Boekhoudt and Studio William Welch Ltd. He has won many design awards and has his work can be seen in many of the country's top museums and galleries, including the permanent Collection at the V&A museum, The Millenium Galleries, Sheffield and in the private collection of the Duke of Devonshire.

We deal in Contemporary and Traditional Pakistani Art. Our primary art business includes special exhibitions and private sales. Founder and Chairman Mr. Nasir Javed laid out the foundations of this gallery with an aim of not just to promote Art, but to promote Pakistan and its Art across the world. Crescent Art Gallery has curated the largest exhibition held in Pakistan and also among the largest in the world exhibiting 300 paintings at a single event. This event exhibited paintings of Master Pakistani Artists such as Tassaduq Sohail, Iqbal Hussain, Chitra Pritam and Ahmed Khan. Crescent Art Gallery is also the First art gallery in Pakistan’s history to have been granted a space at the National Museum of Pakistan in Karachi. This space has been allotted for the Master Artist, Late Tassaduq Sohail’s Art Gallery to offer such an Artist Tribute.

Karen is a Suffolk based Dance Artist specialising in contemporary and community dance. She trained at Roehampton University where she gained a BA (hons) in Dance Studies. Karen went on to complete a PGCE at University Campus Suffolk in 2014 and has worked in a range of educational settings in Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. She is currently teaching her own classes Stow Movers and Hadleigh Movers, movement classes for 55+ years, and her youth company Karen Louise Youth Dance which all run weekly. Alongside regular delivery, Karen has taught on many exciting projects including: –Big Dance 2016 (in conjunction with Akram Khan & People Dancing) -Big Dance Workshops 2016 (in conjunction with Anna Rowe Dance) -7 Schools 1 Town 2017 (DanceEast & Gecko Theatre) -The Inkwell 2017 including Arts Award (DanceEast) -KLD & Yodanga Arts Summer School 2018 & 2019 -Hadleigh Hullabaloo 2019 (DanceEast) –Dance From Home 2020 – Present (DanceEast) -Tell Your Story Project 2022 (ICEP & St Pancras Primary School) -Jubilant! 2022 (The Food Museum, Mendlesham Primary School & John Peel Centre) In 2018 Karen worked as Producer for Ipswich Choral Society on a large-scale community project commemorating WW1; Ipswich Remembers. She continues to enjoy these Producer roles and has produced several KLD projects in 2020. Most recently Karen works for Dance Network Association in Essex as their Dance Development Officer. She runs and delivers on programmes such as their Youth Company, Dancing with Dementia, RE:Generation Colchester and their Dancing with Parkinson’s classes. Karen was part of the 17/18 cohort for Overture, a professional development opportunity with ReBourne. She was 1 of 16 UK Dance Artists that took part in four residential weekends. She has also recently completed a Dementia Care Mapping course through Bradford Universirty supported by DanceEast, and also was a part of the Emerging Leaders programme with National Centre for Writing. Karen is also a keen performer, and has been a member of Kinetica Dance Collective (formerly Dance Unlimited), a performance group in Suffolk, for seven years now, and performs regularly in East Anglia.

Members of the Trust rescued the slipway and buildings from dereliction in the 1990s, with support from Bristol City Council, the Heritage Lottery Fund, the South West Regional Development Authority and volunteers. Following the restoration, the yard was set up as a working boatyard with tenants, including a number of start-up small enterprises. Underfall Yard is now home to many different maritime-related businesses, as well as several clubs and organisations focused around water activities. All income from the tenants and the slipway is put back into maintaining the yard and buildings. The Trust also takes a keen interest in Bristol Docks as a whole, and in maintaining Bristol’s maritime heritage. Underfall Yard Trust’s goals for the Heritage Lottery Fund project, delivered between 2014-2018, were: Preserving and restoring the historic buildings and machinery Retaining the unique character of the Underfall Yard keeping it as a working and productive place, not a working museum Improving public access, engagement, awareness and understanding of the yard including interpretation, with opportunities for learning and volunteering Nurturing and supporting maritime skills by providing workshops, with opportunities for training and learning Enhancing sustainability to ensure long-term viability The current chair of the Trust is Ian Wilkinson who can be contacted via the yard’s postal

Carole Smollan enjoys teaching, particularly beginners and children, “I encourage them to access their creative processes.” I find this fascinating and inspiring and with children I believe it sets them up for a lifelong advantage. Smollan began exhibiting her art work from the age of 17. As a lace and lingerie designer she became head of a public company, won a prize at the Cologne Fair and was elected “Young Business Woman of the Year. Subsequently she ran her ceramic studio for 20 years making large murals for public buildings – the proudest one being in the foyer of the Constitutional Court in Johannesburg. Creating ceramics for the blind in Gardens, Cape Town was an awe inspiring experience. For many years she did the critique for a distance learning Art Course. In 1996 she emigrated to England without her kilns and began to develop her textile work. Her love of cloth began in her grandfather’s tailoring room. Smollan specializes in Synagogue Art. She has been commissioned to produce artwork for synagogues all over the world, exhibited on many one-man shows and museums all over the world, recently with a show of 150 pieces at the Yeshiva University Museum in New York.
