Pilates and Yoga Therapies Glasgow

Glasgow

PY Therapies is an independent Pilates and Yoga studio. This means that as a teacher and therapist I can maintain the integrity of what I teach without recourse to "branded" models of Pilates and Yoga. I work closely with Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Physiotherapists and other Holistic Practitioners to provide a complete clinical referral system. PY Therapies Pilates Studio Having come to Pilates and Yoga more than 20 years ago via my own search for a rehabilitation programme following the births of my four children, I wanted to share this knowledge and provide a safe and nurturing environment where clients could exercise with dignity and improve their condition regardless of age or ability. The studio has been specifically designed and equipped to ensure comfort and safety as well as challenge you as you strengthen your body using, in the first instance, gentle yet powerful low range movement performed in alignment to address any issues and correct musculoskeletal imbalance. Therapeutic Pilates and Yoga Mat Bench classes are small (max 4) and are designed to teach concentration, control, centering, precision and slow, flowing movement in harmony with the breath to promote functional strength, improve posture and promote grace and balance. Each mat bench station (medical grade vinyl) has its own dedicated box of small equipment, which is sterilised after each use. Everyone is personally assessed by myself prior to taking part. In some cases, I may recommend one to one tuition in the first instance. Some of the services we offer include: Mat Bench Classes (max 4, small equipment). Duets, Trios and One to one personal training using larger equipment such as the Pilates Reformer, Pilates chair and Iyengar Yoga wall. Interactive live online classes and consultations. Ante and post-natal care are available to ensure you are in tip top condition to give birth and to assist return to fitness afterwards. Sports specific training to prevent and treat injury as well as enhance performance to ensure you derive optimum pleasure and results from your chosen sport. Carole Jacobs also delivers workshops designed to your requirements, corporate, teacher training or private. I am also a Reiki Master Practitioner and massage therapist and these therapies are also available to enhance your wellbeing and improve physical condition.

London

The LSSM started the first ever Sports Massage course in September 1989. Set up and taught by Mel Cash, this was based on the first ever book on Sports Massage that he wrote the year before. We were also the first massage school to be externally validated by BTEC (the main Government-backed awarding body in the UK). Ours is a ‘Customised Qualification’ which we design ourselves and operate in the way we believe is best. BTEC then independently assess this and they approved our first Sports Massage qualification with a Level 4 standard. BTEC annually carry out a thorough audit of our whole operation to ensure we maintain the high standard and quality of our training. We have carefully designed our course to meet the needs of mature (non-school leaver) students looking for a new career which is why we run part-time courses at weekend spread over a longer period of time. The weekend classes are devoted mostly to teaching hands-on practical skills which can only be learned properly in a classroom along with other students and experienced tutors. The underpinning theory is now taught online so students can fit this in with their lives better. But LSSM has always been more than just a school, we are also the pioneer of a new sector of modern healthcare. We are led by Mel and his close team of tutors who are all dedicated hands-on therapists that have constantly strived to better meet the needs of their clients. Developing from their Sports Massage roots they acquired higher skills in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of people suffering with pain and injury. This has also given them a much wider scope of practice and made it a much more stimulating and rewarding life-time career. Over the years we have integrated these new clinically proven skills into our training and our BTEC qualification is now Level 5, called Soft Tissue Therapy and takes about one-year. It still includes Sports Massage but is now much more focused treating musculoskeletal pain and injury with people from all walks of life. Our main training centre is in central London, at Regent’s University premises inside Regent’s Park, and we have another branch at Totton College near Southampton. Our administration office is in Willesden Green, NW London.

The European School Of Animal Osteopathy

the european school of animal osteopathy

What is Animal Osteopathy One of the definition of animal osteopathy job description, as given by the French Board of Veterinarian Surgeons, is as follows: The sole purpose of these manipulations is to prevent or treat functional disorders within the animal’s body, excluding organic pathologies which require therapeutic, medical, surgical, medicinal or physical intervention. These manipulations are musculoskeletal and myo-fascial, exclusively administered manually and externally. To assist in the management of these functional disorders, people performing animal osteopathy procedures perform non-instrumental, direct and indirect, non-forced manipulations and mobilisations. Animal osteopathy involves finding the cause of the animal’s disorder and discomfort. Each country has its own legislation concerning animal osteopathy: you may for example be called animal manual therapist using osteopathic techniques or you could be required to register (UK) with a vet or osteopaths professional bodies before you can start practicing. It is therefore important that you check the legal requirements in the country you wish to work in. A Day in the Life of an Animal Osteopath We can convey the daily life of a manual therapist based on the 6 essential professional skills of animal osteopathy. On a daily basis, the manual therapist is required to: Travel to meet the animals to be treated (cats, dogs, horses, cattle, exitoc pets). Evaluate the clinical situation, taking into account the animal as a whole. Establish an osteopathic diagnosis. Determine and implement the appropriate osteopathic manipulations. Identify the cases that must be treated, first and foremost, by a veterinarian. Manage a practice or your self-employed activity.

Continuing and enhancing the physiotherapy knowledge, the institute successfully began Post-Graduate course in physiotherapy in 2006 with specialities like Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Neuromuscular Physiotherapy, Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.Ph.D program commenced in 2012. Right from its inception the college is fortunate to have the services of well-qualified and dedicated teachers. For a college, more important than the building is the quality of teachers. It is not an exaggeration to say that to a very great extent it was the teachers who attracted the best among the bright students to this college for pursuing their Physiotherapy studies. The twin combination of inherent brilliance of students and guidance and advice of the dedicated teachers has brought about the best result. The prestige of the college has increased year by year. Many dedicated teachers, some of whom have resigned, have contributed to the progress of this institute. The students are the heart of the college and it is they who keep the college and campus pulsating with life and vigour. A.M.C. Medical Education Trust has taken up the responsibility of medical education since 2008. For taking up this function the people of city of Ahmedabad in general and the medical persons in particular owe a lot of gratitude to the corporation because even though Para Medical education is not one of the compulsory functions of the corporation but for this noble gesture, hundreds of physio’s would have been deprived of their chance to pursue Physiotherapy studies and obtain Physiotherapy degrees. Since 2008, administration of the college is managed by AMC Medical education trust.
