We offer French classes for children aged 9 months to 12 years in nurseries, schools, independent local venues and private lessons in the home. We also offer classes via zoom for those children who don’t live locally or prefer this method of teaching, as well as online on demand classes. Background: The Little Language Academy was set up by Debbie Lomax in 2015, following parent requests for French classes once their children had left the Montessori school where she was Deputy Principal. After 6 years of combining nursery teaching and French classes, she decided to make the leap into focussing on building The Little Language Academy on a full time basis. We now teach over 40 classes per week across several counties, as well as offering holiday camps and workshops in the school holidays.

Hello, I am Rebecca Farmer, the Founder of Telling Our Tales. I am a Montessori teacher committed to the ‘follow the child’ philosophy, and part of my work is in Nigeria developing library projects for primary schools. It was there that the inspiration for Telling Our Tales was born. For our libraries we needed early literacy books for beginner readers in English. We wanted these books to reflect the children and the communities they lived in, and be fun, full-colour and vibrant, just like the children who would be reading them. We needed good quality levelled readers that would encourage reading for pleasure whilst also being educational. In every bookstore, the only levelled readers we could find were Keywords with Peter and Jane and other foreign publications—good books, but hardly reflective of Nigeria and its people. We wanted books set in Nigeria, with Nigerian children at the heart of every story, but the books we wanted did not exist, until now!

Our names are Leah & Molly, we’re the founders of Little Turtles. Both of us have worked with children for 6 years+, both worked in a creche followed by both becoming childminders and how we actually met each other! We have a huge passion working with children and thoroughly enjoy our jobs as childminders. We both knew we wanted to work with children and build something of our own, after months of thinking and eventually planning, we created Little Turtles, parent, baby and toddler classes! We are both fully qualified in Early Childhood Care & Education Level 5, whilst Leah is currently studying her QQI Level 6 Childcare with Montessori. We are both fully qualified in First Aid & Fire Safety Training, Manual Handling, Food Safety and Children First with Tusla. We love working with children and find it such a rewarding job, working as a childminder and watching the children you work with grow and learn every day is amazing. So we want to put all our love, energy and passion into opening these classes for your children, we want to create a fun and friendly environment for you all! After 36 years, of working with The Montessori Method, (with both parents and children), I am offering Conscious Parenting sessions online, to support parents who struggle to be present with their children. When we become parents... somehow over time, (with all the best intentions in the world), fall into the trap of endless routines; unreal expectations, and bucket loads of control, never considering the effect we are having on our children's self esteem and well being. Add to this the endless stream of social media overload, un-vetted (and often inaccurate) advice, peer pressure and expectations, it's no wonder parents get lost in it all... Childhood is a very short ‘hood’ and in the blink of an eye our children are into teenage ‘hood’ and adult ‘hood‘ and we are left wondering, where the time has gone. All we truly have is the present moment.
