Bath Sword Club, established in 1948 has been a part of the local community for the last 70 years. The club encourages fencers of all abilities and ambitions, and prides itself on its inclusive and friendly atmosphere. We enjoy fencing and promoting all 3 weapons and have a senior club member as a mentor in each weapon to help new members participate in club nights and competitions as they like. Coaching is provided by professional, qualified coaches. Bath Sword Club is a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) run by a Committee of volunteers. We employ highly qualified professional coaches catering for all levels, from beginners to potential Olympians and from juniors beginning their journey in fencing to veteran fencers (some of whom are also beginning their journey into fencing!). Our youngest member is 8 and our oldest member still regularly competing is in his 70s. Our club members have a wide range of ability, from those just beginning fencing to those competing at international and world championship level. All are welcome and catered for, fencing is a fantastic sport to engage children and adults alike. Our motto is LEARN, TRAIN, COMPETE – FENCE The club has a tradition of hosting innovative events for the fencing community – the popular Excalibur competition – an annual inter -county competition. Hosting BYC events and this this year introducing a junior Excalibur competition the UK’s only inter-county competition for juniors.

I'm a father of three teenagers, a partner, an ex-partner, a brither, a son, an uncle, a friend but work wise, a qualified Social Worker and a professional and personal coach. One thing I can be sure of, I absolutely love supporting people to get the most out of themselves. I hold an advanced certificate in executive coaching along with many other training courses. I am also a qualified Social Worker. I have a background of over 18 years in children's social care, with over 10 years of those as a Social Worker, and manager. I've worked with 100s of people who have struggled in their lives in some way shape or form. I'm a straight-talking coach, kind and empathetic, but not here to be a friend. The only child of his parents, he grew up in Sutton, Surrey. He first attended Blue Firs nursery and then on to Collingwood School in Wallington, Surrey. Tobi, as he was known to his friends, excelled at Collingwood making many friends and participating in all aspects of school life. He learnt how to play a variety of musical instruments including the recorder, piano, drums and the cello. He participated in several school concerts at venues such as Fairfield in Croydon and The Royal Albert Hall, London. He then went on to Whitgift School for boys, South Croydon for his secondary school education. He excelled academically obtaining 6 A stars and 5 A’s for his O levels. From an early age he had an aptitude for numbers, he subsequently became an excellent mathematician achieving A star in GCSE Mathematics a year early. Whitgift School gave him the opportunity to further develop his musical skills. He studied music for GCSE and continued playing both the Cello and Drums. He was a member of the Whitgift school String Symphonia and other groups. He represented the school on many occasions in concerts. He was working towards his Grade 7 in Drums and Grade 5 in Cello at the time of his early departure.
