Nottinghillcoach

I’m a hugely experienced Coach based in Holland Park. With many thousands of coaching hours under my belt, I pride myself on having a reputation for empathetic and effective coaching. Prior to coaching, I was the award-winning MD of a TV production company and worked all over the world on many types of show. My job history has also included roles as a secretary, restaurant manager, saleswoman and lady’s companion. I believe my varied work experience and eclectic cultural interests have helped make me a better coach. My clients are from many different sectors and the vast majority come through personal recommendation. I currently coach people working in digital media, marketing, music, science, broadcasting, law and town planning. I also coach students at Imperial College, London. Having trained in the UK and US, I use many different tools and techniques. I have a Diploma in Coaching from the Oxford & Cambridge Board and have completed Team Coaching and Clean Language Coaching courses. In addition, I’m a Master Practitioner of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). I enjoy working face-to-face with clients but am well-versed in coaching remotely, something I do regularly with my international clients. My style is challenging but supportive. I am equally comfortable and confident dealing with professional or personal issues. As a matter of course, I offer a free initial consultation session because I believe, as in any relationship, chemistry is essential for the work to be truly effective.

Our era is characterized by increasing globalization. Every day, technological advances that allow for the instant transmission of information change the way we communicate, the way we work, the way we learn and the way we live our lives. At the same time, international trade and tourism and worldwide media communication are expanding. Individuals, corporations, markets, and nation-states can reach around the world faster and more cheaply than ever before. Traditional boundaries between culture, commerce, technology, politics, and the environment are rapidly disappearing. National borders are no longer barriers to learning, living, and working. People may speak different languages, eat different foods, and worship in different ways, but we do not do so in isolation. The world today is a global village and we are all members of the same community. We know that advanced education is the key to making the most of its challenges and opportunities . We also know that a well-chosen course of academic study and a degree from a prestigious university are prerequisites for a successful career in this highly competitive environment. For this reason, at UNYP we pride ourselves on our academic collaboration with well-known international universities. We want to expand your global horizons Our aim is to provide you with the knowledge, experience, and multicultural perspective that will allow you to explore, learn, question, create, and thrive as productive members of a global society in your chosen careers.

Just Another Label (JAL) primarily works with production music and over nineteen years has focussed on supplying electronic, urban and pop music to many established Production Music Libraries. JAL entered into the music industry in 1992 and has since been involved in many ventures across the industry as a recording company, commercial publisher, production music library and third party administrator. We proudly received an Ivor Novello in 2003 for "Best Original Music For Television" for the Channel 4 production Feltham Sings From 2005, JAL slowed down their release of records and progressed into the production music industry. They have since supplied mainly electronic music to the production music libraries of companies including Extreme Music, Warner Bros, Universal and EMI. JAL has always had a keen interest in the community and has spent time volunteering to deliver music-related projects to young people alongside youth-groups and various local councils. JAL has also delivered musical and music industry themed workshops with tutors at further education colleges in addressing subjects including diversity, equal opportunities, prejudice and discrimination. We are currently expanding into multi-media productions to offer comprehensive services in the audio/visual industry. My Work Research Researching the stories we tell ourselves and other people; both historically and the present day – I delve into stories in academic research, the media, memoir, diaries, fiction, art as well as myths and fairy tales to understand the dominant narrative. Write Writing my own stories. I don’t ask other people to do anything I haven’t done myself, so my research includes autoethnographic or creative work of my own. Writing myself into my work is integral to understanding and shifting the narrative. I also work in creative collaboration with others. Facilitate Helping others tell their stories. My aim is to encourage diversity, complexity and specificity. There are no quick fixes, tidy endings, or moments of complete resolution in life and the stories we write and create will ideally represent this. Stories don’t need to be straightforward narratives, so I offer tips and techniques and make space for blends of different types of writing (eg poetry, lyric essays, journals or reflective writing) or other understandings of stories such as craft or visual representations. Curate Sharing stories. I aim to do all that I can to help little-heard stories shake the hearts and change the minds of policy makers and other people who keep the dominant narrative going. I do this by commissioning, editing and publishing stories of community and co-production on Ideas Hub; organising events; speaking at conferences; creating online archives; and writing and publishing articles about my work.
