Penny Parks Training is the authorised training provider of Parks Inner Child Therapy (PICT). Parks Inner Child Therapy provides rapid and painless resolution of trauma & childhood abuse to the many victims worldwide. Although originally devised in the late 1970s this therapy model has continually evolved to remain at the cutting edge of the resolution of trauma, childhood abuse & emotional challenges. It is probably the most effective model available with the most significant feature being that it can bring about change gently as there is no need to disclose any details of traumatic events. The rapidity of its effectiveness has been enhanced by the introduction, in 1996, of the PICT Quick Change model, devised originally to cater for clients from overseas; where resolution may be completed in a series of 5 consecutive days of 4 hour sessions. (The QC 4 hour sessions can also be offered in weekly, 2 or 3 day formats). Penny Parks Training also provides a valuable resource to clients, practitioners and health professionals, as well as anyone interested in the topic of childhood abuse and its related subjects. Penny Parks herself was consulted as an expert in the field by health professionals, the media and in legal cases. Whilst this site is a comprehensive resource in the field of Child Abuse (recognition, treatment & training), if you cannot find the information you require please contact us directly and we will endeavour to provide the help you are seeking. Interested in Therapy? – click on the “Find a Therapist” link on the “Quick Menu” to find a therapist in your area. By contacting them directly you can discuss your queries, needs and counselling format, of course, without obligation.

Earth Building Uk And Ireland

We are a registered charity working to foster earth building in all its diversity. In Lingala, a common language in Congo, EBUKI means 'I work, I dance'; we like that ... Where we started EBUKI started with a meeting, in 2007, of people and organisations interested in increasing and normalising earth in construction. To make earth building normal requires more research, more teaching and training, more standards, more assessment, more information, more networking, more built examples, more experienced professionals, in other words more of lots of different activities! So, we agreed that an organisation, which fostered the use of earth as a building material in all its forms was essential. We have had a great deal of success and continue to grow our organisation from strength to strength. What we do increase awareness about earth building keep our website and social media resources updated on a range of earth building topics provide expert speakers and workshop leaders at our National events arrange information gathering and dissemination work with National and International partners to write, publish and set new standards for earth building techniques develop accredited standards in training for earth builders send earth builders, trainers and assessors for accredited training work to develop a library of information about materials and techniques work to develop a mapping facility of UK and Irish earth buildings act as an umbrella for research, development and practice funding applications participate actively in a European earth building network pursue a range of agendas, which make the use of earth much easier encourage similar earth building organisations in Africa coordinate with joint research (Currently exploring opportunities in India)

Control Shift

control shift

Bristol

Control Shift celebrates computational arts that explore the messy spaces in-between humans, nature and machines. We bring people together to re-imagine our relationships with technology through dialogue and arts. We live in a world where machines increasingly collect information about us, reducing our bodies and the things around us to streams of data. In turn the digital realm can feel abstract, and out of our control. The stuff of computers and digital infrastructure is often hidden out of sight and huge power imbalances exist around who is making technology and who benefits from it. Yet the impact of our interactions with machines and technologies are very much rooted in the body, materials, and emotions. Through workshops, discussions, installations and screenings Control Shift brings creative and critical approaches to technology. Control Shift 2020 was curated by Becca Rose, Martha King and Rod Dickinson, and you can visit the archive to find out more about the programme. In 2019 we produced ‘You Make the Rules’ which was part of Processing Community Day (a global celebration of ‘art, code and diversity’ initiated by the Processing Foundation). Control Shift Community The Control Shift network is a collective of digital artists, educators, producers, and technologists from Bristol (UK) and working internationally. If you are interested in joining the network or finding out more sign up to our newsletter sign up to our newsletter. We have an extended network of partners, funders, supporters and mentors including Knowle West Media Centre, Arnolfini, Watershed, Furtherfield, Aksioma, and Processing Foundation. We want our events to be welcoming and inclusive and we use the Berlin Code of Conduct as our guide.

As Christmas approaches, many of us find ourselves wondering how best to balance our budget and sustainability consciousness with the consumerist expectations promoted through the media. And this Christmas those concerns feel as real as ever. In the wake of Covid, and with the huge challenges of the cost-of-living crisis, young people across Devon are suffering from more mental health issues than ever before. “In the last three years, the likelihood of young people having a mental health problem has increased by 50%. Now, five children in a classroom of 30 are likely to have a mental health problem.” The Children’s Society Meanwhile, schools have their purse strings tightened weekly. Access to the arts is often one of the first priorities to be cut in school, even while children are known to benefit from it now, as much as ever. “I had a parent nearly in tears the next morning, as she spoke about how much her child had loved it and how it had boosted her confidence. This makes a huge difference to our families.” Assistant Head, Exeter Your donation supports Daisi’s continuing work with young people in schools and communities across Devon. From workshops in schools which offer children a practical experience with an artform they may never have previously tried, to longer projects that make a real difference to children’s lives, your contribution will help us to bring creative and inspirational experiences to children who need it. To receive your (pdf) certificate by email and sign up to Daisi’s mailing list, please complete the form below after making your donation, and before Tuesday 20 December.

Louise Worthy Artist & Printmaker

louise worthy artist & printmaker

I am an artist and printmaker living in Sutherland in the Scottish Highlands. I am fashion and textiles trained (Bath Spa University and Manchester Polytechnic) which is where my love of printmaking started. I worked in the fashion industry for over 20 years as a designer. When I moved to Sutherland in 2005 I had the chance to be more hands-on creative and re-kindle my love of printmaking that had been simmering on the back burner since the early days of college. I take inspiration from my surroundings in the Scottish Highlands with its abundance of wildlife and vast range of contrasting landscapes, from the moors and mountains, waterfalls and lochs to the turquoise waters and white sands of the beautiful beaches. For a number of years I used a converted ACME mangle for producing my prints but then in 2012 I treated myself to a proper traditional etching press which is fabulous and much easier to use! My work includes various methods of printmaking; monoprint, drypoint etching, collagraph and lino cut and I also love mixed media techniques. I love the process of creating prints using different methods especially monoprints, where part of the fun is not knowing what the end result will be until the last minute. It can take hours of manipulating ink on the printing plate before they go through the press. I love experimenting and each finished piece is unique. I exhibit regularly in the Scottish Highlands including local galleries and my work is included in private collections in the UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand. I also teach workshops for individuals and small groups in various printmaking techniques.

An independent art studio where artists of all ages can develop their creativity and gain self-confidence through visual art. Join our email list > "My daughter is enjoying art class very much and thus I am happy and satisfied. :) She actually said it helped her calm down on a day where she had gotten angry with her brother - now that's some good stuff! Thank you for inspiring them, and for all that you do!" Kyrie Shomaker, MD When she was a little girl, Melanie Cramer wanted to be an artist/ballerina/teacher/mommy. Apparently "ballerina" was code for business owner because now she teaches art in her own studio. Her path included earning an art degree from High Point College (now university), many years spent as an art director for print media, and many more teaching preschool locally. She founded Outside the Lines Art Studio in 2011 to share her belief in the transformative power of visual art with her community. Meet the Owner: Melanie Cramer IMG_2835.jpg At Outside the Lines Art Studio, we believe the process of creating is far more valuable that the resulting creation. An artist who has spent time exploring an art medium thoroughly may or may not produce a masterpiece worthy of professional framing and prominent display, but they will certainly produce something they are proud of, independent of others’ opinions. They will have expressed themselves to their own satisfaction. They will have experienced something new and learned from it. They will feel more self-assured and confident. Those are products you can’t hang on the wall, or even the fridge.
