We were founded in 1880 as Prendergast Grammar School for Girls on a site in Catford provided by the Leathersellers’ Company, which then funded the school’s move to its current site in 1995. We are now part of the Leathersellers’ Federation of schools, a group of three secondary and two primary schools as well as Prendergast 6th Form. We are very fortunate to be part of the Federation and receive a lot of support from the Leathersellers’ Company, that helps our students succeed. We are very proud of our last Ofsted judgement of Outstanding in all areas, our third Outstanding judgement in a row. We are described in the most recent report as ‘exceptional’ and having ‘exemplary attitudes to learning’ across the school. We do achieve great academic results at Prendergast School (more information is on the website). However, as a parent or carer you also want to know that your child is happy and safe. This is very important to us and we pride ourselves that students feel confident in school and thrive under our care. It is important that when students leave after their time with us that they do so as well-rounded individuals who have had many different experiences, able to overcome challenges and most importantly to learn from their mistakes. It is important that students get involved in school life as much as possible. We have a wide range of extra-curricular activities and we do encourage all students to get involved. The story of Hadith of the Day (HOTD) began in 2009 with the simplest of visions: How to make Muslims connect and fall in love with their faith using the latest technology available which they use on a daily basis.The aim was to showcase and promote the beauty of Islam to a truly universal audienceFor people to be inspired by sacred text and by real life experiences of people whose lives were changed forever due to the sheer inspiration our beautiful faith offers. We wanted to make inspiration the footprint for our vision, and so the HOTD journey started, like many other success stories with humble beginnings. We started with one person, a piece of blank paper and a simple idea of the time was 1st July 2009. INSPIRING MILLIONS Our mission statement is to inspire. We inspire our members with daily drops of inspirational and educational knowledge. We have been endorsed by some of the world’s leading scholars such as Mufti Ismail Menk, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan, Shaykh Yusuf Badat, Shaykj Omar Sulemain, Yasmin Mogahed and many more.When we first started we had 100 members on our Facebook Page. Within 6 months we had 500,000 and in less than a year we had 1 million members. We’re now at over 15 million and growing Alhamdulillah. CONNECTING OUR GLOBAL UMMAH The strength of social media is that it connects millions of Muslims from different parts of the world together. With the generosity of one of our members, HOTD sent 10 members on an all expenses paid trip to Makkah and Madinah. Only low-income families were permitted to enter and when we made the phone calls to the winners, every single person broke down in tears. Some of the people who won could not afford applying for a passport so our donor also covered those costs.

NewVIc is a longstanding part of Newham community. Situated on a single-site campus in Plaistow, it is one of the largest sixth form colleges in London. We offer a wide range of courses, from Entry Level through to Level 3 including academic and vocational programmes. We are committed to playing an active and vital role in the area’s enhancement and economy by promoting social mobility and preparing students for life in modern Britain. We seek to work innovatively and collaboratively with the wider community to achieve this. We have an excellent record of our commitment in being responsive to all the needs of our students. We will continue to provide a broad curriculum and enrichment offer that will allow students the opportunity to choose what is best for their future. Encompassing personal, educational, social, and skills needs, we will strive to constantly improve so that these needs are continuously met. Our excellent Ofsted report (2019) is a testament to the on-going outstanding support we provide our students. Achieving a pass rate of 94% and high progression to positive destinations, including over 700 students to Higher Education in 2018.

Field Breaks started out in the Autumn of 2007 to provide a selection of professionally tutored illustration workshops in the Peak District. This followed the demise of similar workshops in the area and filled a much needed gap for people wanting short affordable art breaks in botanical illustration and landscape painting. Such was the demand for this provision that over the following years the programme has been extended to include a greater selection of courses and venues, along with a growing number of specialist professional tutors. 2020 and the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic saw great challenges to all small businesses, including Field Breaks, with courses rescheduled for safer times. This was an opportunity however for founder member Sue to think seriously about her achievements, goals and ambitions, and after some deliberation decided to pass the business on to fellow artist Hazel. Along with many happy memories of running Field Breaks, Sue is enjoying the opportunity to start new projects. With the handover, Hazel decided to revitalise the old website - "I'm re-dressing the shop window while it's quiet!" Following suggestions from her peers, this also gave her the opportunity to re-think and amend the name from "Field Breaks" to "Field Breaks Art", which lends more focus under the artwork umbrella. We hope you like it! After the extended lockdown, Hazel added a new range of on-line mini workshops in the Spring of 2021, which were a lovely way to keep connected with other artists and share ideas. From July 2021 we were once again able to offer in-person workshops so the focus was to deliver quality tutor-led courses while maintaining a level of safety, including reduced class numbers to enable social distancing. In 2022 we are pleased to be able to offer another full programme of workshops in drawing, painting, botanical illustration, natural history, landscape, abstract, and mixed media including textiles and craft workshops in batik, jewellery making, lacemaking and felting.
