Just another WordPress siteIn 2003 Laura & George Molloy set up Swimbabes, a
company dedicated to teaching babies to swim. It was a decision they made after
joining Aquababies in Manchester with their son Joshua were the benefits for
both Josh and Mum and Dad where clear to see. In fact Laura & George loved the
swimming lessons so much that they both decided to train as baby swim
instructors and in 2003 took the leap and set up Swimbabes just after the birth
of their second child, Eve. Laura states: “Giving up a job that I had done for
years was scary but I knew I needed to make changes in my life… Swimming had
been so rewarding for Joshua I decided to challenge myself and set up my own
business, and I am so glad I did”. In October 2003 Swimbabes ran their first
sessions at the Trinity Hydro pool in Huddersfield with just 11 little swimmers,
extending later that year to run classes in Sheffield too with over 150 swimmers
by the following summer. The business continued to grow and in 2005 opened the
Swimbabes shop to sell lots of the items that were used in the lessons. In 2007
Swimbabes looked to extend its team with our Office Managers joining and
continued to extend Swimbabes, adding our Swimstars programme in 2014. Swimbabes
now operate across Yorkshire and North Derbyshire with over 1800 little swimmers
attending classes each week.
