Redwood Scholars Tuition are independent educational centres where a friendly team of qualified and experienced teachers provide support to students who need help to become independent and successful learners, whatever their age and aim. At Redwood Scholars we work with bespoke resources as well as carefully selected range of supplementary teaching materials to give our students the best learning experience during their 80 minute tutoring sessions, classes for home schooled students or Montessori workshops. All our resources are up-to-date and reflect current requirements of early years, primary and secondary school curriculum. To ensure success, our teachers explore psychology behind children - their behaviours, learning journeys as well as emotional and social development. Education and learning are an enormous entity which requires a great deal of skill to impart knowledge to others successfully. Manor Training & Resource Centre (MaTReC) is a voluntary-sector training organisation. Its legal status is that of a charitable company limited by guarantee. Founded in 1987 its primary aim is to empower the local community by delivering low cost training to equip people with the skills to re-enter and/or advance within the labour market. Manor Training & Resource Centre Ltd (MaTReC), evolved from Manor Employment Project (MEP), which began life in 1979. The MEP project was set up to provide premises for small local businesses. By the mid 80s the issue of training had become increasingly important, so MaTReC was established in April 1987, with the express aim of providing local people with the opportunities to obtain skills and qualifications. We now offer training to all the peopleof Sheffield and surrounding areas. MaTReC’s main site was converted from old shops using local labour. It was opened in 1989 by Richard Caborn MP. The charity is constantly updating its programme of courses so whether its Functional Skills Maths and English, GCSE Maths or English or other courses MaTReC will help find the right course for you. We help to re-engage adults furthest away from the job market by identifying and removing barriers to learning. We teach functional basic skills including English, Maths and basic ICT. We pride ourselves in supporting adults with specific learning difficulties to reach their potential to gain confidence and self esteem.

I have worked with children in various settings for almost twenty-five years. I trained as a teacher at University College Bretton Hall, graduating in 2000 with First Class Honours in Education and English with Qualified Teacher Status. Since then, I have continued to study and develop my professional practice. I gained Advanced Skill Teacher Status in 2005 and Primary Maths Specialist Teacher Status in 2010. In June 2017, I completed a course for Maths Mastery Leading Teachers. Professional roles have included a secondment to WMDC as Lead Facilitator for a Y6/7 transition project, Advanced Skills Teacher and Deputy Headteacher of a large primary school. I have held a life-long passion for learning and believe that all children deserve the best education possible. It is my aim to build on the work carried out in schools and deliver tailored, personalised learning in a friendly supportive environment, which develops confidence and enables children and young people to fulfil their potential, whatever their ability or barriers to learning. I firmly believe that education is the key that opens up opportunities for the future and want to use my extensive knowledge and experience to support all our pupils.
