berwick educational association
Berwick-upon-Tweed
A group of like-minded people met on the 29th April 2014 at the Berwick
Voluntary Centre building in Tweed Street to set up the BERWICK EDUCATIONAL
ASSOCIATION. The group planned to offer a full programme of classes and
excursions to local people on all kind of subjects ranging from local history
and archaeology to geology, art and literature. After over 30 years of
experience with the Workers’ Educational Association we branched out on our own,
with the freedom to set up the kind of classes, lectures and excursions that
local people want to attend and can fit into their busy lives. We are flexible
and open to new ideas so if you want to keep learning and enjoy a bit of
company, please get in touch. We would also love to hear from local people with
experience of delivering education in any field as we are always on the lookout
for new subjects to offer. In 2016 we were Runner Up for North Northumberland
Voluntary Forum’s Organisation Of The Year Award, and in 2019, we were the
winners of the Grassroots Award. Thank you to everyone involved for all their
hard work.
