When Pro Sport Coaching was created, the objective was to increase the amount of pupil participation in a number of different sports throughout the Ribble Valley and surrounding areas. We now work with many schools throughout Lancashire and have built an outstanding reputation amongst our customers. We are proud of the brand we have built, the reputation we have earned and the work we have done to support many schools, children and parents over the years. Our dedicated team work hard each day to maintain the relationships we have with existing customers and to create opportunities with new ones. Pro Sport Coaching is always looking to introduce unique and innovative programmes to enhance our offerings to schools and their pupils. Maths on the Move, PE Curriculum Support (PECS), Balanceability and Mini Me Yoga are just some of the programmes we offer alongside long-term programmes such as PPA cover and extracurricular clubs. We are also proud to work in partnership with the Charity ‘Kids Run Free’ to deliver their 'Marathon Kids’ programme. When schools are out, our Active Camps provide parents with a reliable, fun and affordable solution to help keep children active throughout school holidays. In 2014 we created Diddy Dribblers, our bespoke programme that enhances key fundamentals in pre-school children such as balance and coordination, whilst covering the EYFS seven learning outcomes. Our story began in 2001 when our search for an ideal film course led us to create our own boutique film school in a converted church in Fulham Broadway, London. London Film Academy is now internationally recognised as an innovative film school that offers more than just an education in film. From the Headteacher, Michael Scott May I extend a warm welcome to our website. Newport Girls’ High School offers an all-round education with considerable strengths both inside and beyond the classroom. We support students academically to achieve their potential, whilst also developing resilience and promoting emotional wellbeing. As a relatively small school, there is a real family-feel to NGHS and our house system affords students the chance to meet peers in other year groups and to participate in healthy competition in a wide range of disciplines. There is an extra-curricular activity to suit all tastes at NGHS and staff work exceptionally hard to provide these opportunities for our students. We also organise a number of key open events during the academic year and welcome visitors to see all that NGHS has to offer. Our curriculum is academically rigorous with all students studying two modern languages in KS3 and separate sciences at GCSE. Some students also study Further Maths as an additional equivalent GCSE. At A-level we offer a full range of subjects to enable progression to university, apprenticeship or employment. Significant support with UCAS applications is available to all. Our pastoral team, comprising both teaching Heads of Year, SENDCO and non-teaching support staff ensure that our students’ individual needs are met and we work closely with families and primary schools to ensure a smooth transfer from Year 6. Newport Girls’ High School was visited by Ofsted in October 2019 for a section 8 inspection. We are delighted to have retained our outstanding status as a result of this visit under the revised Ofsted framework.

WEST is a small charity with a big aim: to inspire girls and women to study and work in non-traditional trades and careers like engineering.Wendy Miller “I was the first full-time female student to study engineering at Sheffield College. After employment as a draughtsperson and engineering project manager, I have worked in education since 2004. I am now Learning and Teaching Lead at the AMRC Training Centre, run by the University of Sheffield, which delivers Engineering Apprenticeships from Advanced to Degree Level. I joined WEST because I believe passionately that we need to actively change women’s perception of STEM careers – and men’s perception of women in engineering! There is a world of opportunity out there for young women and we are missing a lot of talent.” Pat Morton (Chair) Pat Morton (Chair) “I spent 20 years in the construction industry as a surveyor and another 20 years in Higher Education working in equality – particularly gender equality – in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) and built environment. When Ros Wall died we wanted to do something active to remember her. She was a real activist so we decided to set up WEST and support a cause dear to Ros’s heart.” Saj Parveen Saj Parveen “I undertook a foundation course in engineering at Sheffield College / Sheffield Hallam University, followed by a degree in engineering, and then a postgraduate certificate. I’m now a senior lecturer in mechanical design engineering. I love developing and inspiring the next generation of engineers and especially keen to see more women becoming engineers, which is why I got involved with WEST.”
