The company was founded in June 2011 by Buzz Bury, Sharon Phillips and Steve Burns after several months of discussions and business planning. The idea had been spurred on by significant cuts to public spending and the shift in emphasis for young people and community services to the development of social enterprise. Think Forward C.I.C. was created as the vehicle to provide services which benefit the local community, particularly young people and community groups.  The Team Steve Burns Steve has enjoyed a wonderful and challenging career in education for the last 22 years spanning the voluntary sector, social services, youth & community work, further education, and working with young people excluded from mainstream schools. His experience includes four years within a managerial position in a pupil referral unit in Blackpool. Steve is committed to life-long learning and has so far undertaken a MEd in special education, a post-graduate diploma in youth & community work and certificates in counselling, careers guidance, life-coaching and a Master Practitioner qualification in NLP. Buzz Bury Buzz is a qualified Youth and Community Worker with more than 28 years of experience ranging from club and issue-based work to management and staff development. He has significant experience in project management, particularly specialising in supporting art and creatively based activities and is an established and valued European Youth Work Trainer within the “Youth in Action” programme of the European Union. He has demonstrated innovative training delivery in the fields of “Youth Participation” and “Global Citizenship” as well as supporting international volunteer initiatives. Sharon Phillips Sharon has 16 years of experience working in services for young people, both in career guidance and in a leadership role for Integrated Youth Services provision. In her previous role at Blackpool Council she was the strategic and operational lead for training, development & accreditation for Blackpool Young People’s Services. Being passionately committed to youth workforce development, she is enjoying being back at the coal face delivering training and in her spare time (ha ha) is in the middle of studying for her Masters Degree in Youth and Community Work.

Richard started playing the electric guitar at age eight after being inspired by a Spanish guitarist on a family holiday in Menorca. Richard was privately taught up until age fifteen and continued his study of music through college and university after he left school. He performed regularly as a child gigging from age nine in social clubs and retirement homes, playing a variety of Shadows/Buddy Holly music. Richard has entered numerous competitions over the years, one of which he came second in at the Fry’s Club Search For A Star Competition. He has also performed at the Lakeside venue where the Darts are televised, winning a Fender guitar presented to him by Bruce Welch of The Shadows. He also played for five years in a successful pub/wedding, functions band called Outbreak. Richard continues to regularly involve himself in performances and has deputised for many local bands including Tundra & Obsidian. Richard also performs regularly with a six piece wedding/function band called Freeze. He is a full time professional musician, making a living from performing, teaching and studio session work. Richard has seven years teaching experience and has performed in thousands of venues all over the South West in the seventeen years he has been playing the guitar. He graduated with a BA Honours Degree in Professional Musicianship from the Bristol Institute Of Modern Music. He has been featured on their website under success stories. Take a read Here. He has been lucky enough to receive master classes from guitarists such as Greg Howe (Michael Jackson’s guitarist) Rene Woollard (Jessie J/Olly Murs/Cheryl Cole session guitarist) and has been taught by professional guitarists who regularly work for Guitarist, Total Guitar & Guitar Techniques magazines including Stuart Ryan & Jamie Humphries. Richard was also lucky enough to perform onstage with bassist Jet Harris from The Shadows. He has also featured in an interview on making a living as a professional guitarist in Total Guitar magazine, issue number #257. He has experience teaching in schools as part of the South Gloucestershire Music Hub, so he’s comfortable teaching in a group lesson environment.

Simon holds an Honour's degree in English Literature from Cardiff University, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Worcester, and a Master of Educational Studies degree from the University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia. In 2014, he was the recipient of the prestigious UNSW Dean's Leadership Award, and was honoured to become a fellow of the Project Zero Institute at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He is currently in the process of writing a book introducing a new framework for teaching and learning called Curiosity-Based-Learning. Educator - Facilitator - Change Agent Simon has enjoyed many years’ experience in senior educational leadership roles, working in both government and independent sectors in the UK and Australia. His first significant leadership role was as Head of English at Cleeve School in Cheltenham, UK. Following this, Simon spent ten years as Director of Teaching and Learning at Masada College in Sydney Australia, developing close connections with Dr. Ron Ritchhart and the Project Zero team at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In this role, Simon led the transformation of the school into a lighthouse school for Cultures of Thinking pedagogy and practice, and became a key influencer in the cultures of thinking movement in Australia. Simon’s most recent in-school role prior to becoming an independent educational consultant in 2016 was as Regional Principal for an international network of independent schools. In 2017, Simon became a founding member of the Project Zero Sydney Network, and continues his work with this not-for-profit organisation designed to share Harvard Project Zero ideas with the educational community. In 2018, Simon and his family moved from Sydney to Cheltenham in the UK, and he continues to work closely with partner schools in the UK, Australia and around the world. Back in early 2013, on the coast in North Devon the idea for Moo Music was born. Musician and entrepreneur Ant Parker, and his wife Jess with their two very young girls, were getting tired of the usual nursery rhymes going round and round in their heads. Both had a passion for music and a wish to teach their children about everything that comes with daily life and beyond; eating healthily, making friends, feelings, the wider world, keeping fit … and all most importantly through MUSIC, FUN and PLAY! At the same time Ant’s sister Ali, who loves to sing and has worked as a nanny, was looking for a flexible and affordable business that allowed her more time with her own small family. She asked Ant to have a look at a few other music franchises (with his entrepreneur hat on) but he soon realised that you got very little original content, were bound by many rules, and paid an extortionate amount for the privilege. This got Ant thinking – one of his best friends is a songwriter who has a very special ability in writing fantastic children’s songs that adults can enjoy too. Another friend is an artist who has illustrated many TV classics such as Bod and Pigeon Street. So Ant thought “why not commission the songwriter to write some songs, the artist to design some characters, Ali to use the combination to start her own business and then once established, licence the material to others. The rest, as they say, is history! Ali started trialling the sessions towards the end of 2013 and we launched as a licensed business opportunity in April 2014. In the first year there were just short of 100 licensees covering much of the UK. Over the next few years the remaining viable areas of the UK were covered, existing licensees expanded into larger areas and we now have 176 licensees covering 1433 postcode districts across the majority of the UK. The master licence for Australia sold in 2016, The Republic of Ireland in 2019, Korea in 2020 and the United States in 2021.

Tony Cotrupe brings over 30 years of experience in business valuations, investment banking, economic consulting, and private equity to Meliora Advisors. Tony began his career at Ernst & Young in its Financial Services Group, where he performed pre- and post-transaction valuations for companies in a variety of industries. He was also an economist in E&Y’s International Services Office, where he provided economic consulting services to multinational corporations for transfer pricing, strategic planning, cross-border transactions, and litigation support. From 2003 to 2006, Tony was a Director at Huron Consulting Group where he was responsible for Huron’s New York Financial Valuation Group. Tony led a team focusing on financial valuations for public and private companies. Tony then started and ran the Private Equity Group within JPM’s Global Private Bank, where he sourced, structured, and executed venture capital and buyout transactions for high net worth clients worldwide. Morgan, Tony joined Gerard Klauer Mattison (GKM) as a Private Equity Fund consultant, providing fundraising and fund management for a fund of funds focused on venture capital and buyout investments. In 2009, Tony formed Meliora Advisors, LLC, a corporate advisory and consulting firm. Meliora Advisors has successfully executed projects in a broad array of industries, including: Aerospace, Biotechnology, Business Services, Financial Services, Food and Beverage, Healthcare, Heavy Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals , Power/Electricity, Robotics HealthTech. Tony holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Economics, both from the University of Rochester. Photographer | Writer | Speaker | Teacher | Judge I dreamed of becoming a photographer when I was 15, but my mother wanted me to go to Oxford instead! I ended up reading English at Oxford and working as a strategy consultant for a few years before retiring at the age of 29. I then travelled round the world for seven years, doing four ski seasons and working on an internet start-up in San Francisco before finally returning to London in 2005. At that point, consulting work felt too stressful, so I decided to go 'quality of life'. I'm now a private tutor and international award-winning wildlife photographer. I became a tutor in 2009 when I happened to read an article in the paper called 'Ten Ways to Beat the Recession', and I started taking pictures again when I received a random email inviting me to go on safari and climb Mount Kenya. I've been a wildlife photographer since 2013, taking pictures in 26 countries on all seven continents and winning various awards including the Sunday Times/Audley Travel Big Shot. I spend a lot of time in Africa, and I’ve been on over 300 game drives and boat rides there. I’ve also worked as a Resident Photographer at various safari lodges: 2019: Klein’s Camp, Serengeti Under Canvas, Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp and Cottar’s 1920s Safari Camp 2020: Gabus Game Ranch and Etosha National Park in Namibia 2022: Ol Jogi in Kenya and Muchenje in Botswana. I'm always happy to answer questions from guests, whether it’s about camera settings, the rules of composition or just identifying all the different species of wildlife. Back at camp, I'll give the odd talk on camera technique, give feedback on their images and show them some of my own. Maybe I’ll see you out there…! Artist’s Statement I have a passion for wildlife, and I want to celebrate all its facets in my photography, including power, beauty, cuteness and humour. These are the qualities I want to share with people. I’m not a conservationist, so I don’t take pictures of endangered animals to put on posters for Greenpeace or Friends of the Earth. I take them because I love close encounters with the natural world, and I want to share the excitement, relaxation, tenderness and wonder they evoke. I started out taking 'portraits' of animals. That was all very well, and a lion might look beautiful sitting on the African savannah at sunset, but there isn't much energy in that sort of picture. What I try to do now is to focus on action shots. I still take portraits - and sometimes I don't have a choice! - but my ideal image is much more likely to be a cheetah chasing down a Thomson’s gazelle than a bird sitting on a branch! My favourite animals are the predators, and the advantage of a long lens is that it can create the impression of being right up close and personal with some pretty dangerous beasts. It’s that sense of excitement that I try to capture in my work, and I'm happy to use whatever technology I can find to do the job.
