I’m a hugely experienced Coach based in Holland Park. With many thousands of coaching hours under my belt, I pride myself on having a reputation for empathetic and effective coaching. Prior to coaching, I was the award-winning MD of a TV production company and worked all over the world on many types of show. My job history has also included roles as a secretary, restaurant manager, saleswoman and lady’s companion. I believe my varied work experience and eclectic cultural interests have helped make me a better coach. My clients are from many different sectors and the vast majority come through personal recommendation. I currently coach people working in digital media, marketing, music, science, broadcasting, law and town planning. I also coach students at Imperial College, London. Having trained in the UK and US, I use many different tools and techniques. I have a Diploma in Coaching from the Oxford & Cambridge Board and have completed Team Coaching and Clean Language Coaching courses. In addition, I’m a Master Practitioner of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). I enjoy working face-to-face with clients but am well-versed in coaching remotely, something I do regularly with my international clients. My style is challenging but supportive. I am equally comfortable and confident dealing with professional or personal issues. As a matter of course, I offer a free initial consultation session because I believe, as in any relationship, chemistry is essential for the work to be truly effective.

We were so proud when we opened the first pilates equipment studio, not only in Chorlton, but the only Pilates Studio in Manchester back in 2009. Although Pilates started to really take off in the UK around 15 years ago, the traditional Pilates studio complete with its unique Pilates equipment has taken much longer to make an impact in the North of England. But matwork is only scratching the surface of the full Pilates experience, to really get the full system as Joseph intended you need to come and visit us in our small Chorlton studio where we work (and play!) on the full system. Joseph Pilates designed the equipment himself and his exercises for the mat have evolved from the reformer and the other big pieces of equipment such as the cadillac, chair and barrel. Once you experience the studio equipment for yourself you begin to understand more fully how to get the most out of each exercise and you can then apply that to your mat work. For example in a mat class I often say “imagine that you have spring attached to your arms” – on the reformer and the cadillac you are holding onto those springs! By using the springs for resistance throughout the session you will feel the whole of your body working and really challenge yourself. The use of springs doesn’t just act to make exercises harder, it also can support you and is especially beneficial when trying to master rolling work.

Alexandra was born in the USA and spent her formative years in London and Glasgow. Her musical abilities were recognised from a very young age and she began having regular piano and vocal lessons at the age of four. Alexandra had the honour of being the youngest singing student to be accepted at the prestigious Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. Whilst studying there, she benefited from singing lessons, vocal workshops and master-classes with both formidable voice teachers and visiting leading professionals. This early exposure to such a high standard of coaching was a great source of inspiration for an aspiring young soprano. Alexandra was invited to attend the Association Of Teachers Of Singing training course for four consecutive years, which provided her with a solid foundation for developing her own teaching technique which she loves to share in her own teaching lessons. Having always had a special love of Scotland, it seemed to be a natural progression for her to complete her studies at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Glasgow (now known as The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) where Alexandra was awarded her Bachelor of Music with Honours Degree. Now based in Central Scotland and accessible from Falkirk, Stirling, Glasgow amd Edinburgh, Alexandra enjoys working as a freelance singer (soprano) and singing teacher. She is currently delighted to be working with Music in Hospitals and Care (MiHC) with whom she has regular concert engagements and tours.

We all know science application in sports has advanced massively over the last decade, yet bodybuilding seems reluctant to catch on to the latest advancements. Examining the market it seems to be the same old information passed from trainer to client since the 70’s. Anything new seems to be dismissed without a second thought whilst a trainer’s body is referenced as knowledge not taken into account genetics or pharmaceutical enhancement. The opposite can also be true with too many arm chair scientists blindly following a study but not adjusting it to suit the individual’s needs. So with a gap in the market I have decided to combine practical experience with the latest in scientific research and using specificity for the individual I keep what produces the most efficient results. National Taekwondo Club (NTC) was established more than five decades ago by Master Hetherington, making it officially the UK’s longest-serving Taekwondo Club. In addition to Derby, we have three branches in Nottingham (Nottingham Central, Arnold and OMAC-UK in Gedling), Coventry, Liverpool, London, and Rotherham. National Taekwondo Club – Derby (NTC Derby) is a non for profit organisation whose objectives are: Taekwondo Promotion The advancement of the sport by promoting the game of Taekwondo for the benefits of the residents of Derby and its environs. Life Improvement The provision of facilities for the learning, teaching, and playing of Taekwondo for the benefits of the residents of Derby and its environs with object of improving the condition of life. Many Taekwondo instructors will tell you that Taekwondo is an Olympic sport, which is true, but not all will tell you that we are the only Taekwondo Club in the city of Derby that practices Olympic Taekwondo as developed and practiced in South Korea and the only group that is a full member of the official national governing body for Olympic Taekwondo, and that is British Taekwondo which’s functions include responsibility for the selection of National Teams to compete at International and Olympic level. We have trained British and European champions. We have also had a number of students selected to train with and represent Great Britain. We also have dedicated children’s classes throughout the week at school venues across the UK.
