Myra gained her first degree as a mature student in Scotland and went on to complete her Master’s degree while working full-time for one of the most successful global multidisciplinary consultancies at that time. Two decades on, she has gained her stripes and professional acumen while committing wholeheartedly to the UK’s two leading professional safety organisations. She became a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CFIOSH) in 2021, and also became a Fellow of the Association for Project Safety (FaPS) in the same year. Myra is a banner-waving, passionate advocate for creating positive safety cultures within businesses. Established in early 2016 the company was founded by Managing Director Graeme Rundle, to provide professional quality medical staff to events whatever the requirements, from First Aiders to Doctors and other Health Care Professionals whether this be on foot, car, ambulance or cycles. Graeme’s aim was to focus on quality, reliabilty and friendliness of staff and felt that his teams where needed should be part of and involved in the event and not just in the background waiting to be called up on and as part of the event prevent incidents occuring. He flew, trained, reared, bread, hunted and displayed Birds of prey from the tender young age of 8. Having volunteered in many falconry centres every spare minute he build up a deep understanding and desire for this ancient craft. The diversity of this business means you will sometimes catch Gino at a wedding with his Owl ring bearers dressed to impress and be seen or dressed in camouflage hidden carrying out his pest control. After much success on the field in Rugby union and joining the Armed forces as a REME Recovery mechanic, Gino sort to begin his own venture in Falconry and Pest Control. Gaining his BPCA/ RSPH Level 2 in Pest Management qualification the business began. The initial desire was to create a business around Falconry with displays in mind. This is still the roots of the business but expansion has lead to utilising Birds of prey to their full extent. Bird control with Birds of prey is an environmentally successful means of control on sites such as Hospitals, Schools, Landfills, Shopping centres, Airfields, Sports stadium and so on. This venture required a pest control qualification that allows GCB Falconry & Pest Solutions covers wasp nest treatment and removal, honey bee removal, bird control, rodent control, mice control, insect control, rabbit control, fox control, fumigation and Covid-19 fogging. Noise Academy was created in 2015 by Joe Townsley who is a midlands based DJ and Music producer. Joe studied Music production at Access Creative College in Lincoln and felt inspired by the innovation of the sessions and how engaged he became through the use of music technology. After completing the course, Joe went into organising Dance music events in the club scene whilst playing at many other live DJ events and festivals. Joe came across the opportunity to do some work experience with ‘Jeff Rich’ who was the main drummer for the famous ‘Status Quo’. He helped Jeff set up several Drumming workshops in primary schools across the UK and this opened Joe’s eyes to a whole new world. He felt so inspired by the workshops and a light bulb moment occurred. Dj skills in schools? This could work really well… Joe found out about the Prince’s Trust enterprise scheme and approached them with his idea. He was offered a place on the course, and with their support and guidance, Noise Academy was born. Building up from just one school, Noise Academy now work with over 50 schools every week along with facilitating holiday clubs across Christmas, Easter and Summer. Noise Academy have since been supported by Youth Music to help develop their own educational hub alongside receiving numerous awards including; CO-OP Community Champions and The AIM Local Hero Awards (BBC Music introducing) #makesomenoise “I am so lucky to have found my niche, and to be able to do something that I love every day.
