Like many people in our profession, I didn’t exactly grow up dreaming of working in ELT, but what made me fall in love with it was two main things: ❤ The opportunity to work directly with people and help them to help themselves change their lives for the better. ❤ The great colleagues I got to work with, as a teacher, teacher trainer, manager and materials writer. Working as a business and mindset coach with ELT freelance professionals enables me to combine both those things, and to use the skills and experience I have to have a real impact. One of the things I don’t like about ELT is the way that so many excellent professionals are underpaid, undervalued and scraping by. I also far too often see people working themselves into the ground. This might be OK when we’re in our early twenties with no responsibilities, but it’s no way to run a sustainable and enjoyable professional career.

Indigo Art Exchange is an Art Company based in the UK, the company’s belief is individuality. Developing and creating bespoke prints, using Indigo Dye as the signature to create new products. Our ethos is to use natural dyes and natural materials. The Company Indigo: is the colour that is represented in my work, the love for the pigment and the historical context to my heritage. Art: Primarily fibre art and relief print is my medium from block, screen and batik using indigenous patterns from the world’s pallet and creating them into my own designs and art pieces. The work also features handmade paper and felt making. Recently I have been experimenting with botanical dying and increasing my practice into Shibori. Exchange: The Company supports other visual artists through their practice and development, by offering project management and a platform to highlight their work.

We are a UK Film & TV Agency specialising in “on the move” filming. This ranges from a routes library of film-friendly driving routes, consultancy services, training and a talent agency service. For each route through our library, we offer 4K dash cam footage (front & rear footage in day and night views), a digital map and supporting documents for the locations team on the day. We are innovating the way in which we scout for “on the move” locations. We hope to also increase the training offered & level of knowledge in this area among film crew Oliver Laurenson-Gore – Location Manager & Scout set up Location Routes in early 2022 after his experience of working on PIRATES (BFI/BBC Films) back in 2019 & 2020. This roadtrip from North to Central London involving a car being the central aspect of the film. made him understand the challenges of “filming on the move”. He often found from his own experience that it was challenging to show Directors and other creatives involved suitable roads without recording the route. There was also a number of times in his career that he had to change the route last minute which has caused additional stress and wasted shooting time. Why offer this service and is it needed? Think of how many Film & TV shows that have any form of vehicles driving or stunt scenes on roads…it’s most shows! Roads are getting more difficult to find with more lane reduction programmes and cycle lanes in cities and towns across the UK. Throughout his 30 year IT career, John has been privileged to visit many different industrial, commercial, government and military sites including steel works, car manufacturers, factories, offices, power stations, petro-chemical, and electrical, gas and water utility installations. He has completed projects throughout Europe (The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Luxembourg and Switzerland) India, and the Asia Pacific Region (Cambodia, and Australia). His career started as a British Telecom apprentice in the 1980’s in the City of London and he has worked in many city financial institutions. In 1989 he left to join J.O. Grant & Taylor as a junior project manager, in 1990 he joined Electrical Installations Ltd as a project and bid manager in the structured data and voice cabling sector and worked on projects such as British Steel Scunthorpe and Redcar, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, and Cranfield Institute of Technology. Working for himself in 1996, he installed servers, switches and desktops into UK Job Centres nationwide. 1997, saw him join Computacenter as a Systems Engineer and he worked at some notable clients including Lloyds TSB, HFC Bank, Mecca Bingo, HSBC, British Energy, Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Severn Trent Water to name a few. 'I set up Carbon³ IT in 2009, my own sustainable IT consultancy, providing information, products and services to clients looking to reduce energy costs and to reduce their IT impact on the environment. I wanted to take all my years of experience in other roles and incorporate it into something I was passionate about. Alongside this I did a BSc (Honours) in Technology with Environment and Development with the Open University, graduating in 2010. I am on the BCS Green IT and Data Centre specialist group committees and have taken the Foundation Certificate in Green IT, the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres, PRINCE 2 Practitioner and ITIL Foundation qualifications. I am currently part way through my Chartered IT Professional qualification. I regularly speak at events on the topic of Green IT & Data Centres and I am well known throughout the Data Centre Industry as a Sustainability Expert. Since December 2011, I have been the lead Assessor on the BCS CEEDA (Certified Data Centre Energy Efficiency Award) programme and since September 2012, I have been the reviewer of applications to become participants on the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres.'

Baginton Fields School, Coventry admits secondary aged students with severe and complex SEND. The school commissioned Links Therapy Company to provide specific advice, support and expertise to further develop a newly implemented curriculum for students with ASD. Links Therapy provided a bespoke support programme including student observations and assessments, staff tutorials and feedback sessions that focused on personalising best practice for individual students within the context of the emerging curriculum. Staff expertise was enhanced considerably as a result of mutual professional respect and aspiration to provide optimum opportunity for student progression. I was particularly impressed by the extensive expertise demonstrated by Links Therapy colleagues who were flexible and professional throughout their time at Baginton Fields.
