2023 is a new beginning for VishwArt as there are many exciting things bubbling in the background. I am Tina Gajjar, and I am the paper quilling artist behind the brand VishwArt. I began my journey as a paper artist in Summer 2017 not really knowing where I was headed, just knew that I enjoyed working with paper. I am a self-taught Quiling Artist and work on commissioned art pieces for the baby nurseries and one of a kind statement art masterpieces for the home. I haven't always been a Paper Artist. I used to work in Aerospace Operations as a Program Manager and Customer Service Manager. Life has a way of changing your path .. for the greater good. As soon as you become attuned to it .. it starts working in miraculous ways. Over the years, I have become fond of teaching this art of paper quilling and I frequently host quilling workshops I like to call Quill 'n' Chill locally and online. It is so satisfying to see the calmness that the students feel when they start quilling and when they are able to see what their simple act of curling paper has turned into .. often a beautiful piece of art. AUDE is run by an executive committee of university directors of estates that provides strategic oversight to the organisation. They make recommendations on several of the association aspects such as subscription fees and the annual budget as well as managing the election of office holders. Members vote at the AGM to apply or amend recommendations, and elect the officers. The executive committee meets four times a year, discussing and responding to matters presented by the fellow directors (directly and through regional chairs), and by the executive director and staff team. The committee receives the executive director’s quarterly report, which contains updates from each of the topic-based working groups. The meetings are also used to discuss and act on the organisation’s financial performance throughout the year. Furthermore, the meetings provide a useful sounding board and guide to the executive director, Jane White, and the AUDE team in determining the services provided to members and projects undertaken. The team comprises of five members of staff employed on permanent contracts: Executive Director (1.0 FTE) Projects and Engagement Manager (1.0FTE) Events Manager (0.8 FTE) Communications Officer (0.5 FTE) Events and Projects Officer (0.8 FTE) AUDE is a not-for-profit organisation and receives its core funding from member institution subscriptions and training and development activities. She went to university and graduated in 2017 with a degree in Special Educational Needs and Inclusion. Charlotte worked for a children and young adults respite service where she progressed from Support Worker to Care Manager. It was here she gained opportunities to provide in-house training in various areas including moving and handling, PEG feeding and more. This is where she gained her passion for delivering training after sitting in many training sessions and completing various e-learning courses and finding many missing the mark.

Initially training as an electrical engineer, Anthony moved into domestic appliance repairs as a white goods field service engineer for Comet, working on cutting edge technology such as halogen, microwave and induction cookers. Following this, Anthony joined the Gerard Gamble Group and became a technical manager, trouble-shooting obscure faults and taking responsibility for training engineers nationwide for their gas qualifications and specialised equipment repairs. In particular, he worked with Garland, Frymaster and Houno products, as well as pressure boilers and ware-washing equipment. Anthony also assisted in developing containerised kitchens, where complete commercial kitchens were fitted into modified sea containers capable of being transported by lorry, providing temporary cooking facilities.

Chris Barson founded Positive About Autism in January 2009. Prior to that Chris was External Training Manager for the National Autistic Society. Chris has a long involvement with disability and autism. After studying drama at the Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff he started out as a drama tutor with Arts for Disabled People in Wales. Chris trained as a learning disabilities Nurse at University Hospital Wales. After qualifying Chris became a Community Nurse for people with learning disabilities. Moving from Community Nursing into a specialist setting, Chris gained experience in intensive support for people who present a severe challenge to services. Chris first joined the National Autistic Society (NAS) in 1996 as a Project Officer in Wales on a Children in Need project reviewing short term care provision. After working with the NAS Regional Development Team promoting service development throughout the UK. Chris went to work at the Royal College of General Practitioners, in 2000, where he managed Professional Development and Quality programmes. Chris rejoined NAS in 2004.Chris has contributed to the design and delivery of courses provided by Canterbury Christ Church University, and University of Cumbria. Chris is a contributing author to ‘The Autism Spectrum in the 21st Century:Exploring Psychology, Biology and Practice’ Jessica Kingsley Press 2010 (Highly Commended 2011 BMA Medical Book Awards)
