We have an in-house testing facility of up to 800 tonne in both tensile, compressive and NDT services (non-destructive testing). ENGINEERING SITE SERVICES This includes lifting equipment repair, service, maintenance and LOLER/PUWER thorough examinations. New installations of overhead travelling cranes, swing jibs, gantrys and runway beams. LIFTING GEAR HIRE AND THE SUPPLY OF LIFTING GEAR We offer specialist lifting gear, ropes, rigging, custom made assemblies in webbing, wire and chains, together with a welding and fabrication design service in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium. With our Marine and Defence divisions we are able to supply specialist services to docks, ports and ships. We can offer general health and safety plus slinger/rigger training and product specific training at our own training facility or at our customer’s premises. We are members of the LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) with LEEA qualified engineers, full UK members of ERCA (European Ropes Course Association), members of CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme), a member of the British Safety Council, Safe Contractor, Achilles, BSI, ADS, and SSIP (Safety Schemes in procurement) and we run a Lloyds Registered quality system to ISO 9001:2015.

As a charitable training organization we took the difficult decision to close and remain closed to protect the health of both staff and students. ...Where do we go from here? At the time of writing, the Omicron variant is starting to affect many countries including the UK. We are hopeful that the outcome will not be as devastating or as dangerous to our health as previous outbreaks. With this in mind we are planning to start offering introductory courses in the very near future. Taking into consideration the difficulties that our school leavers have experienced over these last couple of years we have decided to lower the age of opportunity to learn to 16years upwards. What do we offer? We are a City & Guilds authorised training centre but at this time we will be offering introductory courses to domestic electrical installations, renewal energy, web design and basic car maintenance. By the end of the course you will have a very good idea just what is involved and if it would be the kind of career you would enjoy. We are hoping to re-open in March 2022 and so keep checking our web site for more information regarding the exact date we will be starting and application forms or simply to give us a call. UBUC was established during the 1960/61 academic year. Considering that scuba gear was invented in 1943 by Jacques Cousteau, much has changed in 50 years! The club ranges from new trainees to seasoned divers whose expertise is vital to the smooth running of UBUC. One of our main goals is to provide affordable scuba diving training. Every year we train around 30 divers and provide a number of internationally recognised qualifications from beginner to advanced diver levels. We are affiliated to the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC), and therefore issue qualifications according to BSAC standards. Over the last few years, we have gained a number of BSAC awards recognising our achievements in training. The club is overseen by 10 committee members. However, being such an active club means we rely on help from everyone to organise trips, help with equipment maintenance and assist with training. We especially encourage aspiring Dive Leaders to organise their own trips. We are also a friendly and sociable bunch! Our dedicated Social Secretaries runs most of our social events, including diving talks, boat pub crawls, trips, and much more! Anyone, however, can organise an event. BSAC Affiliation UBUC is a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club. We are branch number 9160. Scuba Diving Training We offer extensive training for SCUBA diving, anywhere from beginner to advanced diver levels. We teach using the standards of our diving agency BSAC.
