Waterwise was borne from a passion to deliver first class training to a broad spectrum of clients.Principal Dave Williams and Chief Instructor Jono Garton have worked together for 18 years in the RYA Training sector, their easy-going but professional approach to delivering training as seen them respected as two of the best instructors in the industry. With experience which ranges from Windsurfing to time served with the RNLI they have a wealth of experience that provides the skills to teach to the highest standard. Waterwise was borne from a passion to deliver first class training to a broad spectrum of clients. Originally based on the Menai Straits the decision was made in 2018 to relocate the training centre to Madog Boat Yard, in Porthmadog. In 2021 we added a fleet of new Sea Doo Sparks, GTI & GTX to our fleet along with a drive on Aqua Dock for running PWC Jet Ski Courses. We now replace this fleet annually.
Chieftain Training is a trading name/brand used by two separate Not For Profit organisations, Southampton Boat Club Ltd. and STCW Ltd. Southampton Boat Club has existed informally for several decades and was originally a small group of local sailors, power boaters and sea fishermen operating on the River Itchen. In 2018 the members formalised their group’s status into a Limited Company. The Club organises training courses for leisure boaters and those seeking work within the recreational boating industry. Courses are run from Bitterne Park, Southampton and Dumbarton, Scotland. STCW Ltd. is also a training centre and focuses on the provision of training for commercial seafarers. Courses are run from Willments Shipyard, Southampton. Neither organisation has any share holders. Any profit we make is ploughed back into the organisations to ensure we continue working towards our key objectives.
