The Collective was set up to help local artists and makers earn a living through sharing their creative skills and passions with others. Its name comes from Loch Arienas, a beautiful and remote spot in the Morvern area of the Scottish Highlands. We believe that engaging in creative activity is good for our health and wellbeing. Our workshops suit beginners, returners and those who want to challenge their own creative practice. Group sizes are kept small, so that our artists and makers can give you the help and support you need to get the most from your experience. Join us to release your inner creative and you will leave having learned new skills, made new friends, and with a finished piece we hope you will feel proud of. My name is Helen and I have been crafting since I was a child. Made by Me Workshops was born out of my love of crafting and sharing knowledge. I have spent recent years teaching various crafts and enjoy sharing all the positive benefits that being creative brings. Now more than ever being creative can help improve mood and wellbeing. From my own perspective crafting helps me deal with stress and provides relaxation in a busy world. I love spending time with like-minded people who enjoy the thrill of creating something that whilst not always perfect is perfect to them. Made by Me is more than just crafting workshops, it is about bringing people together. The aim is not just the experience of crafting but taking time away from daily stresses to relax, laugh, create, discover and enjoy some “me” time. At the end of the workshop you will have something you have made and hopefully have met some lovely fellow crafters. There are a range of activities available at my workshop located on the outskirts of Bradford on Avon (Bath side). If you don’t see what you are looking for do drop me a message as I will be arranging local tutors to extend what is available so whether it’s textile printing, glass work, macrame or crochet I will be aiming to accommodate your requests.

The word ‘tyro’ is the Latin word meaning ‘a beginner or a novice’ and at Tyro Studios we have created a space for all to learn without judgement or pressure to be anything but a beginner. TYRO Studios is a studio / retail space based in Shipley, West Yorkshire, where we host creative workshops and lifestyle events. It is also home to a curated range of gifts & lifestyle goods. At TYRO Studios we run different workshops and events from floral arranging, to modern calligraphy, water colour painting, macrame & much much more. Our spaces are inclusive and safe for all people. All our workshops are run by incredibly talented and passionate tutors and are perfect for beginners. Our tickets are fully inclusive, you will not need to buy anything from us when you arrive; this includes all your materials and refreshments - all you need to provide is enthusiasm. Our workshops are aimed at adults (18+) as we serve alcohol. Our classes are small (6-10 people) to ensure that everyone gets as much direct assistance from our tutors as possible and run from 1.5 hours to 3 hours maximum (please check your specific workshop for timings) We cannot wait to meet and host you! We are beyond excited about our first-ever Arienas Collective exhibition! The exhibition is taking place in the Scot-ART Gallery 1 on the 3rd floor of St Margaret’s House, 151 London Road, Edinburgh EH7 6AE from Saturday, 24 - Saturday, 31 May 2025 and is open from 11am-5pm each day. The exhibition is free to enter and you can find out more about our theme, who will be exhibiting, and opportunities to meet our creatives in person here. We will be exploring how creatives balance making art they love with art they earn a living from.
