My Story My journey towards being a brand strategist and coach dates back to my university days. While at university, I realised friends and family would often use me as the sounding board for their projects and ideas. The more problems I was able to help them solve, the stronger my desire to learn about what it takes to build a sustainable brand was. I also discovered I was very good at branding. I started designing posters, flyers, and logos and got self-taught in the use of colours, appropriate fonts, text alignment among other branding design skills. In addition to my natural innate creative ability, I received my bachelor’s degree in Business Studies and Music from the university of Liverpool. It’s time to show up, step up and build a brand that you are passionate about. - THE DIGITAL BRAND BOSS Fast forward a few years later, I took on the volunteer role of team lead for the media and production department of a charity (my local church) of about 200 members. It was then that my desire to build brands for a living grew and took root. This drive led me to get certified as a brand strategist and coach. The more I learned, the more I realised the power of strategic branding in bringing clarity, direction and growth to businesses. As someone who has always experienced the world through creating, I started my first business during my first year at university on a part-time basis, in 2012. So, believe me when I tell you I understand what starting a business from scratch requires. Some of the businesses I launched during this period included a catering business, a clothing line and a luxury design card company. Like most business owners who are just starting out, I wasn’t sure how to build my brand and grow my business. Instead, I was focused on having pretty colours, a logo and a social media page, which from experience I learnt are not adequate in getting you the required results from your business. It was only after I started really diving into learning how to successfully build a solid and sustainable brand, that I started seeing real results. I went from feeling disjointed and confused to starting a business that I absolutely love and I’m passionate about.

I am a Healer, a Mastery Facilitator and trained as a Life Coach Practitioner and Professional Stress Management Consultant so my approach is rooted in more deep dive coaching approaches around mindset shifting and (energy) healing. I use a variety of modalities to help people heal themselves in creative ways. I genuinely want to offer not just my skills as far as my training is concerned but most importantly my life experience. I now feel that I want to be able to share this with others to help them heal themselves. My approach is about getting to the root cause of the problem through building on fundamentals that involve radical self love, forgiveness, acceptance and compassion. What I offer is a more bespoke process, working with clients with several modalities to help them unlock their own dynamic and creative solutions within themselves. My focus is always results driven, and I usually assess clients closely to see that it's a good match and that the client is ready to do the work and change. If they are not, that is okay too, but I will usually invite them to return another time where they are in a better position to do the work. I have been on a healing journey myself having lived with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)for many years undiagnosed until a few years back, when I was finally diagnosed and started therapy. Therapy made me feel worse. In the middle of my therapy journey I got diagnosed with Leukemia and what followed was several gruelling months of chemotherapy. I am thankfully now in cancer remission and fully recovered from PTSD. It was my determination and willingness to heal and thrive from what felt like a life sentence of a chronic mental health condition and a serious physical illness that led me to undertake the journey to get better and that led me to do the work I am doing now: helping others to access their own healing abilities and not just overcome and heal, but thrive too. I have always been someone that tried out various modalities (from Energy Healing to Neuroscience)at different points of my recovery and I use this same approach in my coaching practice too. I work with clients that are looking for a different approach to healing themselves. Many that are in therapy work with me alongside therapy to boost and supplement their inner work and for those that choose not to be in therapy, my approach offers a lifeline of accessing untapped potentialities. My passion in life is to help people who are serious about making make real, permanent changes and help them get to the heart of their issues by following the path of effortless flow with life in a more creative way. The result is an embodiment of wholeness, joy, vibrancy and aliveness in their lives. I believe EVERYONE is creative however each of us accesses our imagination and creative process in very different and unique ways. Chef Monisha Bharadwaj is an award winning author, food historian and a food writer based in London, UK. Monisha is a qualified chef from the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Mumbai. She started Cooking With Monisha, situated in West London, in 2004. Today it is a successful school that attracts not only the home cook but also chefs who wish to learn Chef Monisha’s brand of simple authentic Indian cooking. Monisha has also created and taught her popular courses at the Ashburton Cookery School in Devon, The Bertinet Kitchen in Bath, Seasoned Cookery School, south Derbyshire and at Divertimenti in Knightsbridge. She is often invited to judge food events and has been a judge at the Guild of Fine Food’s ‘Great Taste Awards’ for the past several years. Monisha also holds a BA in Indian History and in 2013, she was invited to be Guest Lecturer at SOAS, University of London, to give a series of talks on ‘The History of India through its Food’. In 2017, she worked with Kew Gardens giving talks on healing Indian ingredients, and with the British Council on ‘How The British Fell in Love With Curry – a historical perspective from 1200-2017’. In 2018, Monisha was invited by the Wellcome Collection, London, to talk about Ayurvedic nutrition as part of their exhibition, ‘Ayurveda Man’ and opened the South Asian Spice Box residency at Borough Market, London, with a cookery demonstration of south Indian food. In 2019, she was invited to be a Guest Speaker on Indian food on a Cookery Legends cruise around the British Isles. She was awarded ‘Cookery Writer of the Year’ in 2003 by the Guild of Food Writers and her many books have been shortlisted for and won several prestigious international awards. In 2020, her book ‘Indian in 7- recipes using 7 ingredients or fewer’ won the Gourmand World Cookbook Award 2020 for the Best Indian Cookbook in the World. Growing up in India, Monisha was brought up on an Ayurvedic inspired diet, where food brought happiness and physical well being. Today, she brings her experience of and passion for ancient Ayurvedic wisdom to all the classes she teaches.

I was working with someone recently who held a very senior position in an organisation and he hadn’t been in a good place. He was terrified of an upcoming key note he had to deliver. At the end of our session he said: “I can’t believe it Jo but I’m really looking forward to it now. I’ve got the tools I need”. That is why I do what I do. We were backstage and you could hear this buzz of expectation from the audience outside. I’d used all the security resources available to put it on and here I was with my actors saying they wouldn’t go through with it” Jo Darby set up Voice in the Room in 2016 but the seeds for the business were planted many years before. As a teenager with a love of acting she attended the National Youth Theatre. “I saw how directors were trying to help us to get the message of the play across and make a connection with the audience. That’s what they facilitated and that was the bit I found really interesting. How do you support people in a really positive way to achieve that? That was the point when I decided I didn’t want to do acting, I wanted to direct. When I later had the opportunity to do that at University, I grabbed it with both hands. Directing was a hobby that became a job.” As a Theatre Director Jo began creating productions in the North East at Northern Stage and the Live Theatre. She went onto launch her own theatre company and travel overseas to direct for the Australian Theatre for Young People before later working at Pilot Theatre Company and Bristol Old Vic. One early experience creating a brand new play with inmates at Northallerton Young Offenders Institute was particularly influential. “I was left on my own with the group to get on with rehearsals when one day things all kicked off, a fight broke out, there were chairs flying, the lot. I never felt threatened. I knew it wasn’t aimed at me and I was able to reassure staff such that we were allowed to continue. I persuaded the governor we should put on the play in front of the whole prison – in the prison chapel. Looking back now this seems unbelievable but it’s true! Just before the play was due to start my group refused to go on. We were backstage and you could hear this buzz of expectation from the audience outside. I’d used all the security resources available to put it on and here I was with my actors saying they wouldn’t go through with it. So I had to give them a big pep talk about how this was their opportunity to be heard and express themselves, remind them that they felt no one ever listened to them and this was their big chance. Eventually, they went out and did it. Everyone cheered and it all turned out fine. I still think now, goodness know’s what would have happened if it hadn’t gone ahead!

W H O W E A R E Julia, coming from a non-dancing background, started dancing Cuban Salsa in 2009 and quickly became addicted and very much involved in the Edinburgh salsa scene. Soon she progressed from organising social salsa groups to co-teaching with some of the best local teachers and has continually improved her dancing skills by learning from the best of national and international teachers, at classes and conventions around Europe as well as in Cuba. While her dancing continues to improve, taking it to the stage and later on choreographing different dance groups, it is her strong business background and warm personality that brought success to Cuban Salsa School (went from zero to the biggest salsa school in town). During her time running the school, she built another passion on the back of it as a teacher. Continuously improving her teaching method, she then passed on her knowledge to her team of instructors (who now have gone and teach their own classes). Following her relocation, she is now managing Cuban Salsa School in the current format that allows her to continue working on it remotely. Col has also been dancing Cuban Salsa since 2009 and is known as one of the top Cuban style dancers in the Edinburgh scene. He then moved out of the country but still maintain his passion for Cuban Salsa wherever he goes even to this day. His experience includes: founding Salsa4Water Edinburgh, a group dedicated to raising money for Wateraid which soon became one of the most popular Cuban Salsa groups in the city; trained by the highly regarded Ballet Folklorico Cutumba and Raices Profunda, and also had private classes with former members of casino.com (Cuba’s most famous Rueda group) and profesoras de CFN (Conjucto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba) during his visits to Cuba; co-founded the successful Cuban Salsa School in Edinburgh; also at the moment Col belongs to Oye Timberos performance group in Warsaw, training and performing regularly. Col’s speciality is dancing with connection to the music and he draws on his extensive experience as a musician to help teach this to his students as well as developing the key techniques that allow someone from a non-dancing background to learn authentic Cuban body movement and style.

I bet you’ve landed here because your dog's prey drive is driving you mad. You’ve probably asked everybody you know plus the gurus of Facebook – that’s what I did with my first high prey drive dog – and are no closer to answers than you were at the start. Do you know what? It doesn’t have to be hard. All you need is a bit of know how and I can give that to you no problem. I love high prey drive dogs. Prey drive is part of the template for a dog - AND our domestic dogs have been selectively bred to enhance some parts of it. I am on a mission to help you understand your dog's prey drive - and learn to see how you can work with it to make both of your lives better. In fact, I chose the breed of my first dog in large part because they are meant to have a low prey drive. It wasn't something I wanted to deal with. I avoided hounds, terriers, herding breeds, gundog breeds - and instead got myself a Bullmastiff. Do you know what? It didn't work. He would chase deer for long distances and he would kill and eat rabbits. And then he became aggressive toward other dogs. I started learning. I became a Tellington TTouch Practitioner and I spent 5 years at Bishop Burton College doing a BSc (hons) in Canine Behaviour and Training. My dog was transformed. No more chasing wildlife and no more being aggressive toward other dogs. So . . . A blonde collie cross dog stands in deep snow, looking at the camera. enter Cuillin. I was done with behaviour problems and wanted a dog who was going to be better at heelwork to music than my Bullmastiffs. Cuillin was a Collie cross and I had big plans for us. Until he reached a year or so old and started hunting. And then disappearing for hours at a time. There were lots of tears from me when that started happening. So I started learning again. I worked at it until I understood how to work with Cuillin so that he could do what he loved and I wasn't left waiting around for hours. I was hooked. A black and tan Cocker Spaniel sits in a wild spot surrounded by cotton grass. I went back to Bishop Burton to study again. This time for an MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Training. I was lucky that during first year of the course, Serendipity the cocker spaniel came into my life. I spent my time studying and carrying out research into prey drive in dogs while also practicing every single day with my glorious young high prey drive dog. I passed my MSc with distinction and a fire to share my wealth of knowledge about reward-based, effective and kind training for high prey drive dogs. Ethics in dog training are a key part of my business. Many years ago - long before I ever had dogs - I spent 4 years at Glasgow University getting an honours degree in Philosophy. That time helped me to see that ethics are so important.

This brief history tells how the RAF Air Cadets was formed. As an essential part of the RAF, supplying better-trained and experienced personnel during times of war, it has evolved into the largest air cadet organisation in the world. The first cadets In 1859 several schools around the country began forming armed, uniformed units of adults and older boys with the purpose of protecting Britain in the event of an attack from overseas. By the turn of the century there were units in more than 100 schools and, in 1908, the units were re-titled the Officer Training Corps (OTC). Many ex-cadets and officers served with distinction during the First World War. By the 1930s the beginnings of today’s CCF (RAF) appeared in the form of OTC Air Sections. In Army uniform, but with an RAF armband, they trained very much like today. Air Commodore Chamier, the Air League and the ADCC It was a simple enough idea. The Second World War was on the horizon and if aircraft were to be used as a major combat strength, then the RAF would need a serious amount of combat-ready pilots and competent support crew to keep them in the air. That idea came from Air Commodore J A Chamier, now known as the father of the air cadets. He served in the army, the Royal Flying Corps and the RAF in 1919 (not long after it formed). With his love for aviation, he was determined to get British people aware of the RAF and its vital role in any future war. He wanted to establish an air cadet corps, encouraging young people to consider a career in aviation - pretty exciting at a time when very few people ever got the chance to fly. His experience in World War I, where training time was very limited, convinced him that the sooner training began the better prepared and experienced a person would be in combat. So, in 1938 the Air Defence Cadet Corps (ADCC) was founded by Air Commodore Chamier who was then Secretary-General of the Air League – an organisation made up of people who wanted to make the British public aware of the importance of military aviation. Demand for places was high and squadrons were set up in as many towns around the UK as possible. Local people ran them and each squadron aimed to prepare cadets for joining the RAF or the Fleet Air Arm (the Royal Navy's aircraft division). They also helped form the diverse programme of activities that our cadets enjoy today. During World War II, with many instructors being drafted into the RAF and squadron buildings being used by the military, cadets were sent to work on RAF stations. They carried messages, handled aircraft and moved equipment. They filled thousands of sandbags and loaded miles of belts of ammunition. They were invaluable. By the end of the war, in just 7 years since the formation of the ADCC, almost 100,000 cadets had joined the RAF. The ATC and CCF Towards the end of 1940, the government realised the value of the cadet force and took control of the ADCC. It reorganised and renamed it, and on the 5th February 1941 the Air Training Corps was officially established with King George VI as the Air Commodore-in-Chief.
