Maleficent Things

maleficent things

I created Maleficent Things in 2016 out of my love of movies and fondness for fairytales. I began by making a collection of character themed charm bracelets representing princesses, heroines, villains and the misunderstood, from the likes of Cinderella to Hermione, the Evil Queen to Maleficent herself. Since then I have designed hundreds of items inspired by films, fairytales and literature. From quote pendants and pins to pin cushions and watercolour prints, Maleficent Things presents an enchanting collection of original film, fairytale and book inspired jewellery, stationery and gifts. I am delighted to also offer private workshops, jewellery making classes and parties for adults and children. All can be tailored to create the perfect bespoke package, so do get in touch if you would like to discuss ideas. When the pandemic made workshops and parties difficult, I created make-at-home craft kits to help people enjoy creative happy time at home, and so Charming Crafty Things was born. I now have a wide range of kits available here on this website, and you can find a handpicked selection on my Charming Crafty Things Etsy and Small and Beautiful shops too. I studied Art many moons ago and am delighted to once again have the opportunity to paint, design and create, alongside looking after my three delightful boys (superhero powers: sarcasm, hugs and sideblinding) and a huge fluffy dog (superhero power: mood enhancement). I thoroughly enjoy designing my Maleficent Things and creating crafty kits brimming with beautiful materials so that you can make your own lovely things too. I hope you enjoy your Crafty Charming Things as much as I do!

I worked with unique and historic craft techniques such as tambour beading and find much of my inspiration in materials. I found I had a love of innovative and experimental processes and this is a passion I now wish to share here at 35 Design Space! Check out my portfolio site at: www.dinafusi.co.uk

After about 20 years working in PR and communications, I began a long process of change. It started when I joined Samaritans as a listening volunteer and began a BSc in Psychology. After completing an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Supervision it has culminated in my working in private practice as an integrative psychotherapist and supervisor in private practice. I am lucky. I truly love my work and am privileged that people share their vulnerabilities with me as they heal emotional and psychological wounds. I work from a warm and welcoming space in my garden. My garden room is surrounded by mature trees. One of the things I love about being there is listening to the breeze, and even the wind, blowing through the leaves. The sound is soothing. I slow down when I hear it and often find myself looking up to see the tops of the trees. Giving something back has always been important to me. I have volunteered in all sorts of roles, including on the door of The Gate Theatre in Noting Hill and making ‘Complan Cocktails’ for oncology patients. I left Samaritans after about six years and now work as a supervisor with Cruse, a charity supporting bereaved people. I created Space for You because I recognise that whatever our story, whatever the pressures and stresses we face, we all need a space to be. A space where we can express ourselves and be heard, where we are noticed buy not judged. Space for You personal development workshops offer exactly that. I am a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP).

Xaverian College

Jesus Christ taught that God is at the centre of our lives and that the love of truth and concern for the needs of others must be fundamental to our way of living. Inspired by Jesus Christ and by the missionary zeal of their founder, Theodore James Ryken, the Xaverian Brothers are dedicated to the creation of schools and colleges as communities in which these truths are the guiding principles and in which the spiritual, moral and intellectual talents of their students are nurtured. A Xaverian college must provide opportunities for growth in the knowledge and practice of the Roman Catholic religion through prayer, worship, study and service to others in and beyond the college community. The obligation to help students to develop all their talents calls for a commitment on our part to good teaching, dedicated pastoral care and a readiness to relate to students both inside and outside the classroom. Through this commitment, the students will experience and respond to the good will and concern of their teachers. The cause of justice is an essential theme in the message of Christianity. In a Xaverian college, staff and students will be conscious of the demands of social justice in local, national and international issues and will seek to discover ways in which they can most appropriately respond as individuals and as a community. Our students are living in a secular society where persuasive forces influence them away from a spiritual view of life. In the same spirit of faith and hope which inspired our founder, we wish to commend to our students a way of life which is rooted in the love of God and our neighbour.

KFD Jewellery

As a young adult, my passion for the perfect pieces of jewellery for me saw me travelling to craft fairs and designer shows in the search for something just right. I rarely found what I wanted. In 1999, whilst I was a teacher of biology, I attended a local jewellery making evening class with the intention of making the collections that I really wanted to wear. That was the start of everything you will see on this site. My love affair with jewellery blossomed and I was inspired by that first evening to enroll on short specialist courses and I started to read books...lots and lots of books! I started to make and sell my jewellery on a part time basis, whilst still teaching. In 2002, I made two moves: I moved with my husband, two young children and labrador dog to the Cambridgeshire countryside whilst at the same time moving out of teaching and into making and selling my jewellery full time. From those beginnings, I'm proud to say that that I continue to personally design all the collections in the KFD Jewellery range, and they are all hand crafted in my Cambridgeshire workshop. For the past 20 plus years I've pursued my dream and passion of creating beautiful and elegant handcrafted jewellery that ladies love. My wish is that every piece of jewellery I've created helps you feel unique, sophisticated and stylish whenever you wear it. My more recent collection are infused with meaning as well as looking beautiful. Jewellery that resonates with you is more likely to be jewellery that feels authentically you.

Toks Coker, Hands of Light

toks coker, hands of light

She cares for a diverse clientele from all over the world such as royalty, celebrities, entrepreneurs, mothers, property developers, and artists. People are needlessly suffering from anxiety, depression, loneliness, and a variety of ailments that deplete them physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. They feel lost inside them while putting up a mask of bravery, courage, and confidence…….. sometimes they do not even realise they are lost. After many years of caring for and seeing her clients she has come to the great realisation that saying Yes to Life is a choice each person has to make. A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. Toks has personally had to deal with the death and loss of her unborn children, partner, family members (mother, father, grandparents, uncles, aunts) and friends. Her life lessons have taught her the importance of self-reflection, honesty, and truth. Toks believes that life is like the vast ocean, looking calm on top, but in turmoil under. Surfing the waves of life is a wonderful challenge of facing your suffering, limiting beliefs, fears, negative emotions, thoughts, behaviour, etc. and transforming them to love, peace, joy, harmony, and happiness. This is what her Yes to Life is all about. When she shares her knowledge and insights she speaks from her vast experience, learnings, and training. Her ability to turn poison to medicine with her insights, wisdom, and mentoring is testimony to who she is at heart. “Toks you are so easy to love.” said a lady after 5 days with her. Happiness is available to everyone – Say Yes to Life.
