Miss Scarlett is the owner and manager of Droxford Montessori, establishing the school in 2014. Miss Scarlett has over 15 years of experience in Early Years Education and her passion for Montessori began in 2005 after a work experience placement Certified with a full Montessori International Teaching Diploma and Early Years Teacher Status, Miss Scarlett is the school's special educational needs coordinator and leads all staff practice in safeguarding. Miss Scarlett is currently on maternity leave. Miss Helen Miss Helen is our Montessori School Manager and having lived in France for some years loves to share her love of France with the children. “I have worked in childcare and education for over 20 years qualifying in NVQ level 2 and 3, Montessori international diploma and a range of training including Senco. I have had varied roles including working in schools managing a baby room and caring for children with autism, physical disabilities and palliative care. I started working at Montessori in 2006 and fell in love with the ethos as well as my Montessori family. Every day is a learning experience not only for our children but me too.” Miss Lucie Miss Lucie is our Deputy Manager and vholds her Early Years Teacher Status achieved at Portsmouth University. She has previously run Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ early years setting’s and has worked at Droxford since 2015. Miss Lucie is a mummy of two little ones, both of whom have attended Droxford Montessori. Having previously trained in Food Hygiene Miss Lucie carries out our weekly cookery lessons using products from our allotment when possible as well as introducing a mindful approach to healthy happy eating. Miss Lucie is fabulous at being creative and loves gardening and spending time on the allotment with the children.. Miss Zoe Miss Zoe is an excellent dancer and loves throwing some moves with the children. “My daughter joined Miss Scarlett’s school in 2015 and totally embraced the Montessori ethos thoroughly enjoying her time in the setting. I thought the principle involved, in particular the child led activities, learning through play and nature were very beneficial. I have now taken this forward into my current NVQ training.” Miss Lorraine Miss Lorraine is our Resources Manager and has worked as a Montessori teacher for over 15 years. “I did my training alongside Miss Helen and we have worked together ever since. I too fell in love with the ethos and have enjoyed many years working alongside and learning from the most amazing and talented children. I was part of the team originally that helped set up and open Droxford school with Miss Scarlett and it has been lovely to watch it grow into the outstanding setting it has become. I decided to step back from full time teaching two years ago and now work in the role of resources management (basically making the classroom look beautiful and a fun learning environment). Outside of school I am Married with one son, I am a qualified French Cuisine Chef and my hobbies include: fitness and mud runs. I have a cockapoo called Zeus and 5 tortoises.” Miss Clio She is a mummy to one little boy called Bertie and a fluffy dog called Humphrey. Miss Clio is always smiling, she also holds her NVQ Level 3 and is currently working towards her Montessori Diploma. Miss Clio has excellent arty skills and the children love working with her. Miss Sophie Originally came to work at our Holiday Clubs. Falling in love with the ethos she decided to join us during term time whilst deferring university for a couple of years. Miss Sophie brings much enthusiasm to the classroom and is very much loved by all the children.

Matt WEston Matt WEston Education Consultant / Director Matt began his career working in industry using his attention to detail for quality assurance purposes, during this time he passed several courses on risk assessing and auditing. Matt has been involved in training, since early 2000s where he set up and provided training programs for individuals in industry. Since starting a teaching career Matt has trained, coached and provided CPD for both ITT and experienced teachers. Matt is a STEM Learning Facilitator and frequently works for Southampton University and St George’s SLP providing bespoke Chemistry and Teaching & Learning CPD for schools. More recently Matt has been working internationally, consulting with governments, industries and universities to develop national curriculums and schemes in Science, Technolog, Engineering and Maths (STEAM). Matt still enjoys tutoring students at KS3 and GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics helping students achieve a better understanding of the subjects and an increased confidence to apply themselves. One of the biggest comments from students is “thank you for making me believe I can do Science”. Matt has had a love of the outdoors all of his life and his spare time is spent enjoying bushcraft, hiking, canoeing and cycling. Matt has worked closely with BushcraftUK and Forest Knights and his passion is now to combine his love of teaching with his passion for the outdoors so that new generations can be taught relevant content whilst developing important personal skills including communication, leaderships, problem solving, mental health and resilience.

Getting to study in the only Island city of England was a great experience. Being an Interior Design student with a love for History and Architecture, I was overwhelmed with curiosity to explore the place with so much of histories, its ancient art and architecture around the city. The beaches there, is another thing to be mentioned that was just at walking distance from the city. Getting to study and explore at the same time actually brightened up my stay in the city. I met Hetal at the beginning of my academy, she was a great support and actually the person who inspired me to get to explore the place around. I know I did not make wrong choice on selecting my University. It was worth it!

Sometimes it is stressful to see some dogs listening to their owners when yours is not concentrating or barking at other dogs and pulling on the lead when taking your daily walk. Or you don’t understand why your dog does not come back to you when you call them, 5 times, 8 times, 10 times…… I feel your pain! Hi, my name is Tracey Ordish and I am the Owner/Head Trainer at Dishy K9 Care & Train. My family and I have all found a love of dogs through our own furry friend, a black Labrador named Joey whom we have had since he was a puppy. My husband Mike, (Dish or Dishy to his friends) has also had dogs in his family growing up and states that no home is complete without a furry companion! So True! We enjoyed learning with Joey at Puppy Classes and had the basic training covered…….or so we thought!! No-one told us that in a few months, Joey would be a teenage hoodlum!! Chewing carpets, not listening to the basic training we had learned together and literally turning our lives upside down! Were we wrong to bring a puppy into our lives?? Of course not, although it felt it at the time believe me! How my business was born - In late 2015 I needed to leave my admin job of 17 years to concentrate on helping my son with his anxiety and schooling issues. However, I needed to work to bring in some money. I needed to find a job from home so that I could continue helping him. After hearing a family member talk about Dog Day Care, a lightbulb moment happened! My son had stated that if it wasn’t for our dog, Joey, he didn’t know where he would be. So, what better way to help both our situations than bring more dogs into our home! So, I enrolled onto the Level 2 Dog Care Course with Progress Dog Training and Dishys K9 Care was born. Day care, walking and then Dog Boarding! Ever since starting the business in 2017, we have loved everything that dogs show us and how we need to understand them more. Don’t get me wrong, we have experienced lots of stressful issues with multi household dogs within our dog boarding service. Here are some examples. Can you relate?: 1. Barking and lunging towards other dogs or people whilst on lead! 2. Pulling so hard whilst on a walk that your arm feels sore and you feel that you have been taken for a walk, not the dog! 3. Growling or lashing out at other dogs or people, including most of the members of my family, when they have food or toys! 4. Jumping up to food on the sideboard in the kitchen and trying (or succeeding in) stealing the food! 5. Barking at every noise they can hear! These issues made me think in the beginning that they were just being naughty dogs. I was so wrong! Having this experience and having been on a journey of discovery into the world of dog training, I have realised how amazing dogs are and how we need to understand what they are telling us! We can help them achieve so much with kindness, understanding and positivity. Emotions, such as anxiety, are behind a lot of our dog’s behaviour’s therefore, just as I have with my son, we need to help them in their day to day lives . I enrolled with the Dunbar Academy and the Dog Training College in 2020 and I learned so much from the experts on their courses that I felt an overwhelming need to become a dog trainer!!! In September 2021 I graduated an intense 6 month course to become a Certified Dog Trainer with the Dog Training College and I took the brave step to focus on training full time! In February 2022, I passed all the assessments following a 3 month course with the Pet Professional Network and I am now a Distinctive Dog Trainer! Art in the Barn is a twice yearly creative arts week held in the Spring and Autumn, enabling you to choose from a range of workshops, to develop and explore your artistic skills. Our workshops are held in an inspirational setting beneath the South Downs, at Meon Springs Long Barn in Hampshire Art in the Barn is a collaboration between artists Alison Butler (Blooming Designs) and Liz Wellby, who met at Loughborough University whilst studying for degrees in Textiles and Sculpture in the late 1980’s. The Location - a beautiful rural setting in the upper Meon Valley in Hampshire (Meon Springs). The Venue - an inspirational C18th thatched barn, that lends itself to art workshops. It is spacious, with beautiful exposed beams, excellent natural light and superb views over the South Downs. It is a real treat to retreat from day to day life. Our Facilitators - are qualified and experienced artists and teachers, who love what they do. Our Workshops - are suitable for all abilities, be you a beginner or a more experienced artist, allowing you to work together whilst exploring your creativity and developing new skills.
