Becky Hi, I’m Becky, the Principal here at The Dance Zone. I began dancing at the age of 4, learning Freestyle, Ballroom and Latin American. At the age of 14 I became a Student Teacher and fell in love with teaching. I enjoy studying the theory side of dance and went on to take the Associate Teacher qualification in both Ballroom and Latin American with the IDTA; and Ballroom with the ISTD. I now have the pleasure of passing this knowledge on to any of our student teachers who wish to train to become qualified dance teachers and fulfil their own dance dreams. Quite some time ago, I discovered a love of authentic Street dance and still enjoy attending classes in this discipline. Over the years I have achieved qualifications to teach Zumba, Zumba Toning and Mash It Up Fitness, all great and fun exercise programs. I have had the pleasure of partnering students at competitions in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, something I will never forget. I do not have a favourite style, I just love to dance; even my holiday every year is at a dance convention! Yes, dance is my passion, but it’s more than that, it’s who I am. Amy Amy Hi, I’m Amy, and I’ve been dancing at The Dance Zone since it opened in 2011 but have been dancing for 13 years. I have been a student teacher since 2017, I also take lessons in Tap dancing elsewhere. I have loved growing up and spending time with the other amazing student teachers and getting to know all the kids. Going to dance just provides me with a good opportunity to have fun and learn something new at the same time. Beth Beth Hi, I’m Beth, and I have been dancing since I was 3 years old. I started off doing ballet then moved to The Dance Zone at the age of 6. Dance was always something that I have loved so it’s amazing I have been able to continue dancing my whole life. I competed in several competition as part of a Street dance crew. I have taught dance since I was 12, I love being able to share my passion with the kids and being able to teach and dance with them. It’s rewarding to see the kids perform knowing that you helped to lead and encourage them. My favourite style of dance is street as it’s fun and allows for you to add your own style to routines. I have grown up with The Dance Zone and had the opportunity to be taught by and dance with amazing people and have amazing memories.

This is a dream job for me as I studied a BA in Community Arts specialising in Music and Dance and also went on to Theatre School and became a qualified dance teacher. So I now get to indulge in my love of dance and music every day! I have been jingling with my son Fionn for the last 2 years, so as soon as the opportunity arose to become part of the the Jo Jingles Network it seemed like the perfect job for me.

I run two different classes depending on your child’s age. Jolly Babies is from newborn up to roughly 15 months and Music with Mummy classes which are from 15 months to pre school age. Jolly Babies is all about having a little fun. The songs we sing are usually original but there are also some well known ones in there too. All the songs are short and very sweet making them easy to learn. Babies love repetition so each song is sung usually at least twice. In each class, there is singing in the main, a short percussion section where the babies get to have a play with some basic instruments such as egg shakers, bells, hand drums etc. Finally, at the end of the class, there is a very short listening section where we turn the lights off and have a cuddle with their special grown up. I usually do bubbles during this part too which they love. Music with Mummy classes are very similar but we introduce a theme each half term as well as a basic musical concept, for example, loud and quiet, short and long etc. For this class the children need to be confident on their feet as it is a little more involved than Jolly Babies. Both classes are 30 minutes long and there is a maximum of 10 children per class.

We are located on the high street in the idyllic village of Chobham, Surrey. Our shop is inside a beautiful 16th century building with the most amazing baker’s ovens at the back! Yes we have ovens at the back of our shop not working I don’t think... anyways their listed part of the building and beautifully untouchable. Being built in the 16th century our shop has very low ceilings (be sure to duck) and many different parts to it, the shop goes back very far giving us a lot of working space and you a lot of browsing space. There has been a flower shop located on Chobham High Street for over 15 years it has been in the hands of what I believe to be 3 different florists, I (Lizzie) purchased Chobham Flowers in October 2019 and am so very grateful to have become a part of the most supportive and kind community that Chobham is. We are a beautiful fun loving group of florists, who love to chat away in the shop making beautiful bouquets for our wonderful customers sending them out all over surrey to be delivered to big smiley faces. Our styles are all unique but we all have one thing in common FLOWERS! Lots of beautiful flowers in all shapes, sizes, colours and forms. With years of floral experience we love creating anything and everything we get our hands on so don’t be shy with your creative ideas.

I studied Art & Design at Falmouth Art School and then took a degree in Graphic Design & Illustration at Southampton Solent University. I now work as a product developer for a large, international jewellery manufacturer. Most of the work is commercial and not particularly creative. So as a creative outlet I enjoy many craft hobbies such as crochet, knitting and sewing and occasional a bit of illustration. It all started a long time ago… I moved to Germany when I was two and was put into the local kindergarten. I couldn’t speak a word of German, however the teacher, Frau Pfenning began my integration by teaching me to knit – purely by demonstration. When I came back to the UK aged nine, my mother taught me basic crochet and I became adept at making dolls’ clothes using only single crochet – discovering I could shape garments using increases and decreases. She also influenced my knitting style – I am a “pit knitter”, as was her grandmother. As an adult, I didn’t rediscover crochet and knitting until my early thirties – 10 years on and my hobbies have become my passion. Hello. Welcome to my website. I am a basket maker and willow weaver based in Farnham, Surrey - England's Craft Town. I specialise in woven willow playhouses but I also make baskets which I sell at craft fairs and in the New Ashgate Gallery in Farnham. I am happy to consider commissions for baskets or garden structures including living willow. I love passing on my skills through teaching workshops to adults and children at various venues across Surrey and Hampshire. I can also deliver workshops in schools and to community groups. I live with my teenage daughter who is a keen potter and my husband who is possibly the only electrician in Surrey with a Masters degree in Electronic Engineering! His business is Circitas.
