Cobra Foundation is an independent charity, founded in 2005 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the establishment of Cobra Beer Ltd. Registered in the United Kingdom, our mission is to provide health, education and community support for young people in South Asia, especially through the provision of safe water. Our charitable objectives include giving help with Disaster Relief in the Region. The Foundation has supported more than 200 charities and good causes, either with financial grants or the provision of complimentary Cobra beer for fundraising events. There were generous responses to our appeals for funds for relief from Cyclone Sidr in Bangladesh in 2007; the Bihar floods in India in 2008, the widespread floods in Pakistan in 2010, the earthquakes in Nepal in 2017 and the cyclone in Tamil Nadu, India in 2018. It is certain that natural or man-made disasters will strike in the future and we will again play our part. The logo of Cobra Foundation is a mother elephant with her offspring and it reminds us never to forget those in need.

Together with young people, we create and deliver innovative, high-impact and high-energy financial education programmes. Our experts help to build young people’s money knowledge, skills, mindsets and habits at key transitional moments. Two thirds of our work is with young adults in vulnerable circumstances focusing on ‘survival’ money skills for independent living. We are a Hackney-based community-interest company focusing on connecting people with the natural world in creative and collaborative ways. Through innovative teaching and experiential learning, Cordwainers Grow hopes to connect and inspire a network of social and environmental innovators. We evolved out of Cordwainers Garden, a community growing space on land belonging to the London College of Fashion in Mare Street. We wanted to make the link with what the staff and students were doing inside the college to the outside so, in 2011 started growing plants for dyeing and to make fibre. The garden closed in April 2019, but Cordwainers Grow continues and we champion sustainable community growing in the face of increased competition for space and inequality of access. SAY Adventure consists of empowering workshops delivered by qualified facilitators from diverse communities and professions, including teaching, medicine, leadership coaching, business ownership, media broadcasting and youth work. There will be a focus on developing young people’s identity, belonging and sense of cultural competency as a way of increasing their confidence in carving out a future in modern multicultural Brent and Britain.
