At Hoofprints we rehome and rehabiliate welfare horses. When they come to us they are withdrawn, often very underweight and weak, they require alot of understanding and ptience to bring the best out of them. This takes months. We have since rehomes over 21 horses in the last 9 years. “It was a delight to visit Hoofprints today and witness its fantastic works. Lucy and her volunteers do a wonderful job, not only in teaching local children and adults to ride, but also in rehabilitating and caring for horses in dire need of care. “Lucy has a wealth of expertise and it was clear that the invaluable instruction she imparts is filling youngsters with an enthusiasm for riding which hopefully will last a lifetime. However, the team there know as well as anyone that riding lessons, even though Lucy’s charges are competitive, are beyond the pockets of many people. When I was a teenager, I used to be called utopian, idealist, naïve. The reason? I thought that love could change people's hearts and the world. It was a naïve idea and, if you are reading this, you know things are not quite that simple. But intuitively I already knew the power of human presence for healing and transformation. It took me years to find a career path that really fitted me. Becoming a therapist was the biggest gift of my life. I started to do what I've always dreamt to do: helping people transform their lives so that they can help others and all together we can change the world. You might think I sound even more naïve than when I was a teenager. Well, I embrace my naiveté so. I believe it is possible, and I see it happening all the time in my therapy room. People tend to feel happier and discover ways in which they would like to help others, starting by helping themselves.

Camp Crusoe is the quintessentially British summer camp experience where campers feel connected, valued, challenged, and supported. We take having fun incredibly seriously and believe that as modern childhood is all too short we must help our kids make the most of every moment of it. While school work is a vital part of our children’s development, so too is holiday time: Camp Crusoe is very much a fun and adventurous camp and not a summer school! We are the perfect size. There are plenty of opportunities to make new friends with no more than 80 campers per session. We know every camper by name, what interests them, if they need extra support or just an open stage to shine. Over the course of camp, community bonds are forged that last well after campers return home, sometimes a lifetime. Having seen first hand how our American cousins get it so right when it comes to summer camps, we feel it is essential that every child has the opportunity to get away from home each year and enjoy a new environment, testing themselves, trying new things and making new friends, all while having fun in the great outdoors. Too much time seems to be spent cooped up with electronic gadgetry of one sort or another when there is so much fun to be had outdoors, playing with other kids in a safe and controlled setting. Our extensive program of activities from water-sports to drama, archery to photography, appeal to every type of child, offering the opportunity for each camper to grow in confidence, improve their decision making skills and maybe discover a new lifelong hobby. We don’t try to cram too much in and allow just the right amount of time for campers to hangout, make new friends and play together. We are a small, independent camp run by a close-knit team of friends and family who are committed to enriching children’s lives. The core group have many years experience working with children both on summer camps and in the classroom, and are supported by a highly trained and motivated team of camp counsellors, many of whom have worked at camp before and are planning a career working with children. Camp Crusoe is about allowing children the time and space to be exactly that - children. Fun and personal development is our ultimate aim, but we also know from experience how much children learn at camp, both about themselves and about being part of something larger than them. Hi, my name is Katy Renny. You can find me on Facebook. As a signatory of the Registration Council for Dog Trainers and Behaviour Practitioners; and a supporting member of Qualified International Dog Training Instructors, I abide by the Companion Animal Welfare Council code of practice. I started working with dogs at the grass roots, as a dog walker. It began when I got my own dog, Bonnie, and a friend asked me if I would walk her dog too, on a professional basis. That seems like a lifetime ago now. And it goes deeper than that, as my childhood was enriched with a numerous, assortment of family dogs. It planted the seed. The dog walking business flourished and opened my eyes to the wonderful world of working with dogs. I wanted to explore more and so embarked on a practical course with a highly knowledgeable and experienced dog trainer. He has shared the art of pet dog training with me and taught me to instruct. I have been instructing owners in puppy training and dog training since 2014. My practical, reward based dog training experience is backed up with continued professional development and study. I have attended residential courses, workshops and seminars, including True2Life Dog Training and Behaviour, and the Canine Instructors' Academy, gaining diplomas, and I continue to study the science of behaviour with an Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management.

Thomas has been an upholsterer for over thirty years, having studied furniture production at High Wycombe College, leading to a lifetime of practising traditional upholstery. Thomas and his team are based at the Old Maltstore, a fine 17th Century malt store on quiet lane in the heart of Knighton. Thomas is a certificated member of the guild of Traditional Upholsterers as well as having a City and Guild qualification for teaching adults. Thomas initially practised in the Lake district and then for the last twenty-five years has practised in Knighton, a beautiful border town in Mid Wales. Having restored furniture, and run courses in this beautiful area, operating first from the barns at The Upper House, Discoed, home to John Nethercott & Co the fine furniture makers, and then in several local village halls, he established a centre for practicing and teaching upholstery at The Old Maltstore. Most weeks will find a bustling enthusiastic bunch of upholsterers, young and old, skilled and learners, battling over their projects. Thomas’s upholstery work for clients includes furniture from the 17th century onwards, including fragile historic pieces and contemporary traditional furniture. His courses are suitable for all and he is happy to give advice about the type of project that will be right for individuals. He gives lots of tailored support to ensure projects are completed to a high standard. He can also recommend local accommodation in the town for those wishing to stay.

Dulwich Riding School is approved by the Association of British Riding Schools and has recently been awarded a five star Health and Safety approval from our local Council, Dulwich Riding School was founded in 1961 by Mr James Thomas Bellman, himself an expert horseman and instructor who spent a lifetime with horses and riders. The late Mr Bellman passed on his knowledge and riding school to his daughter Linda Gray who has sadly now passed away too, she has passed the Riding School onto Jaye Montebello, her daughter, the current Manager and Proprietor. Jaye was the Manageress (now proprietor) and is still hands on along with other family members who are still running the stables, also part of the Bellman family. Ellie is part of the family who currently rides and instructs at our London riding school. Lynne is our Health and Safety Manager (she shouts the loudest) and Amelyne and Ishka have been with us on and off for years, `University and Equine College being their breaks, we specialise in nervous and novice riders and are brilliant with building confidence. OJ also part of the Bellman family is currently a Junior Instructor, Ellie and Jaye our instructors specialising in working with Advanced riders and Jumping Lessons. Bonnie, Alice, Lydia, Melissa, Neveah and Natasha are Junior Instuctors and are especially good with children and parties, they are voluntary although been with us for years, however, a couple of them will be full staff from September, watch this space. NO one instructor can be booked for a lesson due to rotas and schedules although we will do out best to accommodate where possible. Our staff, volunteers, working pupils and family give their time helping Dulwich Riding School flourish and maintain the standards Mr J. T. Bellman set. Lots of our team are volunteers, they are a strong a valuable part of our team and without them we could not maintain the standards and level of professional care to all our Riders and Horses at Dulwich Riding School. WHAT DRIVES US Passion and determination to uphold Dulwich Riding School's reputation and high standards that Mr Bellman attained. Each instructor feels very proud when a client passes an exam, or completes a successful course or just generally leaves the stables feeling a sense of achievement or just having lots of fun.
