I had a deep interest in Marketing whilst studying Business and Finance at college. Marketing, and its crucial role in the success of every business, fascinated me: I knew I wanted to run my own business one day. I spent the majority of my early career in IT Marketing and Sales functions for medium size enterprises, where I gained a broad range of skills in both areas. I enjoyed being involved in the creation of various marketing campaigns, from concept through to implementation. In recent years, I finally got the opportunity to start my own venture and I launched a successful Terrarium workshop business. However, it was impacted by the pandemic, which had lead me to create Blue Fern Consult. I am passionate about entrepreneurs, start ups and SME’s; passionate about helping facilitate their business objectives through simple, digital marketing strategies. I enjoy the consultative aspect of my work - delving into the core of businesses, finding out what their story is, deciding how I can help them find their digital voice - and making them standout from the crowd. The most fulfilling part of my work is the tangible benefits I deliver to my customers and their businesses, in a reasonably short space of time. About CVU The Council of Validating Universities is the only body in the UK specialising exclusively in good practice and standards for that aspect of higher education which concerns the validation of programmes of study by universities and colleges (‘awarding institutions’) for delivery by other colleges or organisations (‘partner institutions’). The term ‘collaborative provision’ is often used to describe this form of partnership. Foundation and Remit The CVU was formed in 1982 and registered as a charity in 1996. It became incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee on 28th October 2004 (Company Number: 05272761). It is a non-statutory body comprising representatives from higher education institutions and other related organisations in the United Kingdom. Objectives: To advance education, including training and research, in particular by: keeping under review the concerns of degree-awarding institutions within the United Kingdom in relation to collaborative activity identifying and promoting good practice in collaborative validation. The CVU defines ‘collaborative provision’ as the process whereby a degree-awarding body judges one or more programmes of study, courses, or modules offered by another body to be appropriate to lead to a qualification and/or credit of that degree awarding body. The programmes of study may be designed and developed by either the degree-awarding body or the the other body or a partnership of the two. Collaborative validation therefore embraces the accreditation of institutions, the franchising of courses and other forms of academic association.

The Diocese of Bristol is the Church of England across Bristol, South Gloucester, North Wiltshire and Swindon. There are 30,000 people worshipping regularly in more than 200 churches, led by hundreds of clergy serving within seven deaneries. Around 15,000 children and young people attend our 72 church schools, while chaplains serve in institutions across our region. Our bishops lead and oversee the Church in the Diocese of Bristol. Rt Revd Vivienne Faull is the 56th Bishop of Bristol and was consecrated Bishop at a service at St Pauls Cathedral in July 2018. She was installed as the 56th Bishop of Bristol at Bristol Cathedral on 20 October 2018 and introduced as a Lord Spiritual at the House of Lords on 23 October. Rt Revd Dr Lee Rayfield, the Bishop of Swindon, supports the role of the Diocesan Bishop. He works across the diocese alongside his community leadership role in Swindon. We are shaping a new vision and set of priorities for the coming years in a 12-month process called Transforming Church. Together. We want to understand what we do well, what we can change for the better and how to create a positive way forward together. Between February and April 2021 we will be talking and listening to lots of different people, from both inside and outside the church. As part of the Church of England, we are participating in the Renewal and Reform Programme in a variety of ways.

About Be The Change Be The Change is an award winning youth organisation based in Bolton. Our name reflects our commitment to developing young people who are a positive force in their community, and bringing people together who represent Bolton in all its diversity. We started out delivering weekly football sessions, and our work has expanded to include a range of sports and arts programmes, knife crime prevention workshops and mentoring activity. I’m a writer and teacher and I’ve been sharing my heart online since 2006. I’m the author of This I Know: Notes on Unraveling the Heart and my mission is to help people access their creative joy and nurture a deeper relationship with themselves. Words have been at the centre of my world for as long as I can remember. I started writing a diary aged 11 and grew not only a life-long journaling practice but also an unending curiosity about my place in the world. Studying photography at art school followed by a degree in journalism lead to me working as a journalist for many years, but the truth is my life, as I now know it, began in the spring of 2005 when the man I loved died very suddenly from a heart attack — everything I thought I knew about life changed in that instant. Walking through the fire of bereavement is how I truly came to inhabit every part of who I am, the shadows as well as the light. In 2006 I started writing a blog and being able to share my thoughts and feelings online was incredibly empowering, my way of getting back out there from the safety of my living room. Blogging helped reopen the door to my creativity, connecting me to other souls around the world as I found my way back to what was meaningful for me.

Octavia Raheem is a wife, mother, author of two books Pause, Rest, Be and Gather, rest coach, chief executive daydreaming officer, and yoga educator. She founded Devoted to Rest + Starshine & Clay Online Yoga and Meditation Studio for Black Women and Women of Color. Within her rest and work she threads poetry, prayer, and time tested practices into a blanket of experience under which individuals can gather and rebuke stress, fatigue, and burnout. The foundation of Octavia’s rest work is Black Church (rooted in the South USA), restorative yoga, Yoga Nidra, and meditation. Her deepest offerings lead driven, ambitious, visionary, and highly impactful women to awaken the fullness of their wisdom, power, and clarity through rest. Octavia has over 20 years of experience and well over 10,000 hours of designing and delivering classes, restshops, workshops, immersions, and trainings that transform, heal, and restore individuals and organizations. In 2021 Yoga Journal magazine recognized Octavia as one of fifteen experienced yoga professionals who have elevated and changed the field on a global scale. Sarah Frances Smith School Of Irish Dance Sarah Frances Smith, TCRG, former lead dancer and Dance Captain from Michael Flatleys Lord of the Dance opened her dancing school in 2013 and has watched her students go from strength to strength. The Sarah Frances Smith School of Irish dancing promotes a nurturing learning environment for children of all ages and also offer adult classes. Children enhance their fitness levels while learning the wonderful art form of Irish dance and make life long friends while doing so. The school teaches all elements of Irish dancing ; solo and ceili (team) dancing under the governing body of An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha (CLRG). Although representing a very new school, students have shown great aptitude competitively, moving extremely quickly through the grades, with many already having reached open championship level. The school has had solo recallers and medal winners at various major championships. Most recently, the school had two ceili teams and two soloists qualify for the upcoming World Irish Dancing Championships, which in 2016 will be held in Glasgow. The Sarah Frances Smith School of Irish dancing is truly delighted to have 15 students represent the school at this prestigious event. Sarah Frances herself placed in the top 3 in all major solo championships, and won the world championships with her ceili and figure team mates on numerous occasions throughout her own competitive career. She looks forward to her students following in her footsteps in the future with their continued success!

Both Dorset and Bournemouth, Poole & Christchurch (BCP) Councils declared a climate and ecological emergency in 2019. These declarations are based on the scientific evidence that we have around a decade to take the required action to prevent greenhouse gas emissions exceeding levels which scientists agree will lead to irreversible and catastrophic climate change. Recent reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change [1] have identified that the consequences of allowing temperatures to rise by 2 degrees, rather than the 1.5 degree ambition set out in the Paris Climate Agreement, are stark; extreme weather events, rising sea levels, disruption to food supplies and potential societal instability, directly affecting 100’s of millions more people than at 1.5 degrees and indirectly threatening the whole of humanity. Continuing emissions at business-as-usual levels threatens our very existence. With emissions due to exceed the levels required to keep below a rise of 1.5 in the time detailed on the clock above, and with the limits to secure a better than 50% chance of staying within 2 degrees due to be exceeded in the time set out in the clock above, we must act now. Actions agreed at COP26 in Glasgow remain insufficient to address this issue. Aligned with this we are witnessing an ecological catastrophe where extinction rates are up to 1000 times the underlying natural rate [2] and the very ecosystem that supports human life is under threat.
