As a coach I’ve been powering women for over half a decade to take a stand for their best selves, careers and lives. I’ve worked with thousands of women to shift from survive mode to strive and thrive and honestly, I’m just getting started ;) I love what I do and I’ve got big dreams, you could say I’m a woman on a mission! But I didn't always have it this figured out… The truth is I didn’t know what I wanted to do when I grew up. I spent my twenties trying to figure it all out, often feeling lost, frustrated and like I wasn’t realising my potential. In 2013 I’d reached a low point, I wasn’t happy in my job, living situation, relationship, I certainly wasn’t operating as the best version of me and I knew I had to make some big changes. That’s when I discovered coaching. Coaching and personal development became the catalyst for hugely positive change in my life. Of course, Rome wasn’t built in a day. I had plenty of figuring out to do, life decisions to make, and big action to take to create the career and life of my dreams. In fact, I switched jobs 3 times before I finally plucked up the courage to set up my business. But at the end of 2016, She Almighty was born - just before I turned 30. There’s nothing quite like a birthday milestone to create some urgency! I chose my freedom, and I haven’t looked back since. Hannah entered the field of wellbeing by default after having her own personal experience of hitting ‘rock bottom’. She had spent 9 years being owner/operator of a couple of NZ’s top hospitality businesses, during which time she worked extremely hard and at times played pretty hard too. Hannah burnt out as did her relationship with her partner, who was also her business partner. It didn’t end well, she lost everything – businesses, income, house, relationship and experienced anxiety and depression for a period of time as a single Mum with two very young children. For Hannah, she only had one choice and that was to change the way she thought. Learning how the body worked in relation to the mind and how to activate primal resources we all have inside ourselves was what lead Hannah to start the first holistic workplace wellbeing company in New Zealand so she could inspire, motivate and share tools to support others. Along the way Hannah trained with leaders in their fields when it came to studying mind/body exercise, the importance of the breath, our hormones (the feel good and stress ones) and that the simple and powerful choices we can make. She has trained with Wim Hof, founder of the Wim Hof Method, Dr Kataria, founder of Laughter Yoga and Nic Marks, founder of the Five Ways to Wellbeing. After reconnecting with Hannah in 2017, there was a real synergy in the direction Jo was going with a high focus on personal coaching which frequently turned into wellbeing type conversations. She introduced Hannah to HBDI and she was hooked! Together they developed a Whole Brain Wellbeing plan and workshops to match. It was very clear that taking a whole brain approach to developing workshops and wellbeing itself, would ensure that everyone is accounted for. One size doesn’t fit all for learning or wellbeing. By understanding thinking preferences and taking a whole brain approach: varying initiatives and content would appeal to everyone, no matter who they are strategies and programmes would engage more people people would learn how to communicate better, how to understand their colleagues and how to feel more empathy and respect for each other Their varying skills led them to go into business together and very quickly they developed The Wellbeing Challenge web app based on the Five Ways to Wellbeing which has had great results. A wellbeing platform, Your Wellbeing Matters is to be launched in 2020. Her business partner, Jo Fife, entered the business a number of years later when the two of them re-connected after many years and started having a conversation about a neurometric measuring tool Jo had been using for many years, which is based on how people prefer to think (not their skills and capabilities). The Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI) is a holistic tool based on neuroscience.

Hi, I’m Kathryn and I run antenatal courses and workshops along with baby and postnatal classes in Edinburgh. I teach weekly pregnancy classes and birth and baby workshops, which focus on combining antenatal education with birth hypnosis and breathing techniques, movement for pregnancy wellbeing and active birth and are a great time of the week to focus on you, your pregnancy and your baby. Weekly classes are a great way to help you enjoy a positive pregnancy and meet up with others local to you and at a similar stage in pregnancy as you prepare for your confident birth. I also teach Tinies and Wrigglers daisy baby classes which as well as offering baby massage, yoga and sensory play are all about coming together with other new parents to meet, chat and learn – navigating the journey into parenthood together. What I particularly love is seeing expectant parents meet at antenatal classes and continue with daisy baby classes until 10 to 12 months postpartum offering a real connection and community and seeing friendships grow. My classes are with you every step of the way, as are the community of daisy parents around you connected in class and online to always be there to support you. For everyone that is looking for evidence based information, delivered live and interactive (both online and in person) in a non judgemental space with other like minded new and expectant parents you are in the right place! As a local Mum of two I know just how much of a huge transition it can be becoming a new parent and I am passionate about supporting parental wellbeing and passionately believe in the value of peer support. We’ve all heard the saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child’ and daisy is all about building your village! I trained with The Daisy Foundation in 2013 and have been teaching for daisy classes for over 7 years working with hundreds of parents and families from throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians. I am also a voluntary peer facilitator and lead Positive Birth Edinburgh, as well as being a trained Slingababy Baby Wearing Peer Supporter and a proud member of Edinburgh Birth and Baby. I grew up in a little market town in the East Midlands, happily in awe of the magic buzzing beneath the tapestry of existence in the countryside surrounding me, making childhood potions from crushed herbs and flowers and sneaking home Esoteric books to read from the library. At 18, I grew restless with a curiosity about the world and quit college to save up, travel, and spend time learning from the hidden tribes and global communities I had read so much about. My travels expanded my understanding around magic and how ritual had manifested in different indigenous cultures beyond our Celtic origins. Here, I began my journey training to become a Reiki healer (and eventually teacher), with a personal earth mission to also contribute as much healing, light and joy to our planet as possible. By my twenties I had returned home, moved to the city and anchored myself back into a decade of education. I gained a PGCE qualification as a secondary school art teacher and finished a University Degree; a BA Honours in Creative Therapies where I focused my dissertation on the healing power of Creative Ritual and Art in Psychotherapy. Following this, I worked for 5 years as a Creative Therapist as part of an Intensive intervention Team for Children in Social Care, whilst also founding and managing London's Activist Art group 'The People's Tribe' to try and promote positive change in society with creativity (and of course, rebellion!) As I approached my thirties, I began to delve deep into my own shadow work and healing, which lead me to explore the healing potential of plant medicines, shamanic rituals and tincture making. One summer, I softened, decided it was time to return back to the countryside and challenged myself to set off at sunset for an overnight pilgrimage. I mapped out the leylines and followed them on foot, walking 12 hours by myself through the night, singing songs to the stars and arrived at sunrise on the mystical lands of Glastonbury for the first time, where I began my training in Celtic Shamanism.... and never left! I'm humbled to live a harmonious and gentle life here upon the mystical lands of Avalon. From this sacred motherland, I forage and make flower tincture medicines from the earth and sculpt personalised wands from the fallen branches of the ancient orchards. More than anything, I love to compassionately hold space for others walking the sacred path of initiation or undertaking healing/ shadow work. (We're at a very interesting moment in history where nothing is more important than this!) I do this using therapy, ritual, ceremony, playfulness and creativity to help alchemise and empower individuals to step into the highest version of themselves and it brings me so much joy to see the light returning, one by one, to the beautiful tribe we know as the human race. Let's rise together and remember who we really are as we make the journey back home to ourselves!

I hope you and your family managed to have a relaxing summer and enjoyed the sunshine. Now that all of our students are back in school, I just wanted to introduce myself as the new Principal and to introduce you to my two new Deputies. I also wanted to take this opportunity to provide you with some updates on what lies ahead for Silverstone UTC. After 19 years in teaching, mostly at senior levels in a pastoral capacity, I take over the helm of the UTC at a very exciting time. This year’s KS4 admissions were the best ever and we currently have a waiting list of over fifty students wishing to join Year 10. Year 12 recruitment was very pleasing, with numbers up and the academic calibre of the intake being a testament to their hard work in their GCSE examinations. It is always so inspiring when young people rise to a challenge. With this year being the first year of formal KS4 examination since Covid, it is heartening to see how many have secured the GCSEs needed to take them onto their next steps. Both new year groups have made an excellent start and they and their Parents/Carers should be rightly proud. It is now vital that our students maintain that positivity and that they work alongside teaching staff to maximise their potential. With regard to the students who will be starting their final years in KS4 and KS5, I am confident that they are now entering those years better prepared for what lies ahead as the shadow of Covid appears to have lifted. Our job, alongside these students, is to ensure that we work hard to secure for them the academic success that will allow them to fulfil their future dreams and aspirations. The importance of maintaining strong academic outcomes and supporting these students is borne out by the destinations for this year’s leavers. Many secured jobs in organisations like BAE, Mercedes AMG, Boeing, Roll Royce, Scania, Torque Motorsport, DB Automotive and the Armed Forces whilst others went on to colleges and university to study a range of subjects such as Architecture, Finance, Automotive and Civil Engineering, Marketing and Renewable Technologies. In 2021 none of our students (by choice) were without opportunities in education, employment and training and it would appear, given early indications, that this is going to be the same for this year’s leavers. What an excellent outcome for our young people. It reflects the fact that students who attend the UTC are seen by many employers, outside agencies and educational institutions as much more work-ready than those from other educational establishments. The ethos of work-readiness and of developing the personal qualities of our students so they can flourish in their next stage is a core theme that is going to underpin the excellent educational opportunities that all the staff in the UTC will strive to provide for your sons and daughters. We are current fully staffed and my new deputies bring a wealth of knowledge and experience that will strengthen the Senior Leadership Team immensely. Mrs Angela Murphy is the Deputy for Curriculum and Achievement. She comes from Lord Grey and has been pivotal in securing them a good outcome in their recent inspection. Her reputation for expecting high standards in curriculum delivery and maximising achievement will, I am sure, lead to greater effectiveness of teachers and greater academic understanding for your sons and daughters. She will work alongside our Assistant Principal, Mr Simon Hollies, who brings a broad and in-depth understating of academic theories related to improving the quality of teaching and Learning. Between them and the staff at the UTC, I am wholly confident that best practise in the class will be the norm for all. My other new deputy, Mr William Jakeman, joins us as Head of Pastoral Care, which includes behaviour and safeguarding. Mr Jakeman has had many years’ experience in this role at the most senior levels and has a reputation of upholding the highest standards, whilst underpinning his expectations with a fairness, kindness and compassionate rigour that is respected by students who know he has their best interest at heart. It is also important to me and my team that wellbeing needs of SEN(D) and disadvantages are met as best as we can and to that end, this year, I have appointed a SEN(D) Teaching and Learning Lead (Ms Jessica Dixon) who will work alongside our SENCO (Ms Christie Norris) and our very talented Teaching Assistants (Mrs Lauren Leeson and Mrs Jessica Ryzman). Ms Dixon’s focus will be to ensure that the specific needs of SEN(D) students in the class are being met and that these students and their parents/carers have an advocate who will work alongside them to ensure the best educational experience for their sons and daughters. As a teacher of many years, she brings to the role a clear understanding of what has to be achieved and I have every confidence in her ability to make good things happen for students in her care. Finally, I have the privileged task of guiding the long term future of the UTC towards a Multi-Academic Trust (MAT). In aiming to join a Trust in September 2023, we will seek to ensure that Silverstone UTC has the best opportunities to share with other schools the best academic and well-being expertise, fiscal security, strength and depths in a wider curriculum that will benefit our students and staff and in so doing, further strengthen the already great position in which we find ourselves today. As that process continues, I will be updating all those involved but I start the journey excited by the great benefits that being part of a MAT will bring to the UTC, our staff and most importantly your sons and daughters. I end by thanking everyone involved in the UTC for the start made this term. I offer my assurances that I will work hard to guide the UTC in the best way possible and with such great students, supportive Parents/Carers and talented staff, I am confident that the future for Silverstone is a positive one for all involved. WiseUp Team Building prides itself on delivering team building activities that engage participants. We encourage young people to develop new skills in a fun environment. It is our belief that outdoor education should be accessible to everybody. As a consequence, we are continually developing new methods of delivery to guarantee that all participants’ needs are met. Who We Are Founded in 2011 by Richard and Alexandra Wise, WiseUp Team Building is a mobile company. We provide fun and educational activities all over the country by bringing the equipment to participants. The company started with just one van going out and delivering activity days. Now on our busiest days, we have up to nine teams out all over the country. Richard and Alexandra have over 35 years combined experience working in the outdoor education sector. Working both abroad and in the UK gave this dynamic duo a vast amount of experience working with young people. Additional years at both privately owned and government run establishments meant running activity days for students of all different backgrounds. Whilst working at a large multi activity centre, Richard and Alexandra realised the demand for an outreach service. Chatting to teachers highlighted that bringing young people off site was becoming difficult and certainly more expensive. As a result, Richard and Alexandra founded WiseUp Team Building. A fully mobile service offering the same activities run at outdoor centres to schools across the UK. Running fun and challenging activity days on school grounds significantly reduces the cost. Consequently, this means students from lower income families who can’t usually afford traditional outdoor centre visits can participate. By coming to you, WiseUp removes the complicated planning involved taking pupils off site, which is always a good thing for everyone. Most importantly, students in both Primary and Secondary schools are able to access quality outdoor education. The Team A core operational team support Richard and Alexandra with the logistics of managing WiseUp. Our fantastic activities team uses their years of experience in the outdoor industry to develop new and exciting products. WiseUp is all about innovation, not imitation. Each year, we hire and train additional instructors to deliver our activity days to the highest standard. Many of our Lead Instructors return each season. As a result, it’s not surprising to see some familiar faces returning to your school year after year. WiseUp just would not be complete without our hardworking maintenance team. They spend hours during every season making sure every piece of equipment is completely safe and beautifully painted. This results in our kit coming to schools looking great. National Awards WiseUp Team Building is often recognised for its achievements. Over the years, we have won a number of awards. For example, in 2015 Richard and Alexandra won The Kent Business Award. Previously Alexandra was listed as one of the top 30 under 30 entrepreneurs in Kent. The History A significant feature of a WiseUp Team Building activity day is our distinctive vans.
