BLACK PANTHA JEET KUNE DO/CHINESE BOXING is a non-classical urban combat Kung Fu, Offensive self-defense fighting system. A progressive direct system of Kung Fu developed for real life situations placing emphasis on extreme explosive speed, power, awareness core balance and fitness conditioning. BLACK PANTHA believes in working from the feet up, so we pay special attention to dynamic attack footwork and quick evasive footwork, flexibility mobility, balance and awareness. BLACK PANTHA Jeet Kune do Chinese Boxing Offensive self-defense is not a combat Sport, it is Offensive self-defense based on the principles, ideology, philosophy and combat fighting system of Jeet Kune do founder and Kung Fu Legend Bruce (Jun fan) Lee, incorporating techniques from Wing Chun, Kali, Escrima, Judo, Boxing, Savate, Thai Boxing, Fencing and Karate. Following he concept of Bruce Lee's way of intercepting fist , fist before foot and non telegraphed movements. Our training includes weapons defense and use, multiple attackers defense, street fight awareness, explosive fitness/ strength conditioning and bone conditioning. We do NOT do sparring that's really good if you're preparing to go into Combat Sports eg: MMA. We instead focus on full contact drills of explosive random attack with Offensive self-defense counter attacks, multiple attack situations, weapon attack, emotion control, breathing control, for being intense without being tense to enhance your physical and mental ability to anticipate your opponent and to react instantly to his or her movements. BLACK PANTHA Jeet Kune Do-Chinese Boxing Offensive self-defense is based on the concept philosophy, ideology, principles and fighting system of Bruce (Jun fan) Lee. Yoga and meditation makes me feel strong and in tune with my spirit. For thousands of years mankind has praised and celebrated our spirit. But modern society seems to have cut our spirit connection and the material realm has taken over. “Yoga is a very practical and effective way to rediscover and understand ourselves, and strengthen our bodies. I want to share this with my students. It’s important to have a place where we actually have the time to learn about ourselves, have a good stretch and everyone leaves the mat ready to tackle anything with a clear, calm mind!” Chet is a dedicated hatha, and vinyassa flow yoga teacher. She did her teacher training in Goa, India, with Mohinder Prassad of Mahi Power Yoga. She has a worldwide-accredited yoga teacher training qualification and is a member of the Yoga Alliance (the largest international community of yoga teachers, schools and advocates). Her journey started studying meditation and yoga at the age of 18. As many people know, yoga originated in India. A spiritual experience led her to Osho’s ashram in Pune, India, at the age of 21 where she studied more yoga and dynamic meditation. She has since spent many years training in Shaolin Tiger Crane Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Chi Gung with the Nam Yang Pugilistic Association. She has taught both adults and school children, performed in South East Asia and at the Chinese New Celebration in Trafalgar Square, London. Some of the meditation teachings in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali were later used in martial arts. Kung Fu was derived from yoga and Chet was lucky enough to find a genuine, traditional kung fu art. Her amazing teachers, Master Iain Armstrong, and Grand Master Tan Son Tin, took her to British national championship in four years where she won a Gold medal for her kung fu routines. In recent years, she has concentrated on yoga, studying hatha, vinyasa, yin, kundalini and aerial yoga. She has always been interested in Asian arts and doing things that seem impossible. As well as this, she has enjoyed a varied career, including a media career for over 15 years in PR, TV, and radio. Chet understands working under pressure both in, and out of, the office, and the importance of having an exercise routine that actually fits around your life and career. Yoga is perfect for this. You don't need a partner and you can train whenever you can. Chet’s mission is to help you reach your most supple and healthy as this ultimately leads to happiness. As well as improving fitness, you will learn about the history and philosophy of the ancient art of yoga, and develop practical ways to deal with the stresses of daily life

Shane has been involved with the martial arts since the early eighties. He started studying martial arts by learning Pentjak Silat Perisai Diri in 1983. He then moved to Chow Gar Tong Long Kung Fu with the Australian School of Kung Fu and Tai Chi with Si-Fu Tony Conley in 1986. After training full time, and becoming a senior instructor, he started teaching Tai Chi classes full time in 1990, mostly around the southern suburbs of Brisbane, Redlands and Ipswich. The club was originally called Powerline Health and Lifestyle, then after several years it changed to the Imperial Tai Chi Academy. The club Si-Sook Kung is Denis Sue -Tin and Si-Fu is Guy Sue-Tin. Studying Chinese medicine for four years, lead Shane to a greater understanding of the need to promote the natural benefits of the practice of Tai Chi. Body, mind and spirit are brought together by Tai Chi which generates a feeling of good health and vitality. The martial arts component of Tai Chi reinforces good health, both mental and physical, by promoting exercises which strengthen the body and promote overall fitness. So for Shane, Tai Chi became a relevant and meaningful activity for all ages. Shane has been teaching in the community for over 30 years and is proud to be able to make a difference to people's mobility and health. He believes it is particularly important for our seniors to continue doing some form of exercise, and Tai Chi is ideal, as it provides a gentle, slow deliberate movement that is adaptable for varying levels of mobility and fitness.

Howard was born in Hull in 1946 and began training under Chee Soo in 1973. He has been an instructor of Tai Chi Chuan and Feng Shou Kung Fu since 1976 and is the holder of 7th Tengchi Master Graded in both Tai Chi and Feng Shou (Kung Fu) and 3rd Tengchi in Chi Shu. He lives with his wife, artist Gisela, in Holme On Spalding Moor, East Yorkshire. Howard’s early fascination for these arts soon grew into a life-time vocation, realizing that they went beyond a purely physical discipline, but was also a tool for self-development, spiritual growth, and a way of helping himself and others to achieve holistic health and well-being. Extremely proficient in the Feng Shou self defence arts, Howard nevertheless felt a special love for the various forms, K’ai Men and Dao Yin. In fact he is famous for being Chee Soo’s only instructor who practised the Tai Chi form every morning, with the exception of Christmas Day, for 15 years! (And he is still practising with an odd exception, on a daily basis! Chee Soo had hundreds, perhaps thousands of students who entered his training halls through the years, but in the end there were only four in the country who stayed long enough to gain the highest Master Grade Chee Soo issued in his life time. One of those students was Howard, respected by his peers as the foremost authority on the Lee Family Tai Chi form. Howard’s and Chee Soo’s friendship was legendary and it is a privilege for those who today train under Howard to be shown an art so ancient, taught as he was taught, undiluted by fads and fashions, imbued with love, enthusiasm, precision and quality. Chee Soo passed away in 1994. In order to safeguard the continuation of the Arts and their philosophy, Howard founded the East-West Taoist Association in 1999.
