We serve as a home for people who have experienced the power of group relations work, particularly in combination with spirituality and social justice. We want to nurture the GR network by offering a place to co-create as individuals and/or organizations. We are open to collaboration around group relations conferences and application events, writing, reflecting and meeting. We offer to stay connected with “the work” in various ways. We pay attention to where the energy takes us.

the social practice academy

The Social Practice Academy is the training arm of Social Practice ENT, a not-for-profit accounting and consultancy social enterprise built on social justice principles. Through the Academy, we aim to facilitate the creation of leadership development and social entrepreneurship opportunities for young women aged between 18 and 30 from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds. We are working towards the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and have committed to making 2020-2030 the decade of action.

We work together to plan actions, talks, events and training. We also join larger protests and demonstrations. You can find pictures of our most recent demonstrations here. Extinction Rebellion York (XR York) is part of the international environmental pressure group Extinction Rebellion. . We use non-violent direct action and civil disobedience to urge decision makers and leaders to act now to reduce the impact of climate change. Our campaigns led to the City of York Council declaring a climate emergency in 2019 and pledging to reach Net Zero by 2030. We have 3 key demands: Tell the Truth: The government must declare a climate emergency. Act Now: The government needs to act now to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to Net Zero by 2025. Beyond Politics: The government should create and be led by the decisions of a Citizens’ Assembly on climate and ecological justice. Our core principles include non-violence, building a regenerative culture, challenging the toxic system we live in, breaking down power hierarchies, and achieving climate justice.
