WONDERHAUS was born out of a love of self expression, a way to decorate yourself. The designs are made to be worn boldly and courageously, as a statement of the wearer’s personality, independent, curious and adventurous. Julia uses laser cutting, heat forming, etching and engraving alongside traditional jewellery techniques to create all of her jewellery pieces. Each item is designed and made to order from her workshop/studio in Islington Mill, Salford. Julia also runs jewellery making workshops.

Maisie Smith is a designer living and working in Manchester, who specialises in metalwork. Maisie graduated from Manchester School of Art with a degree in Three Dimensional Design. During her time studying, she took an interest in silversmithing, focussing on traditional techniques like raising and forging. In her work, she explores the connection between human and object, playing with the notion of function and encouraging her audience to question objects they interact with on a daily basis. Since graduating, Maisie has found fulfillment in teaching and sharing techniques as much as practicing them. In the future, she hopes to focus her attention on projects that explore the different ways art and design can bring communities together.

Our creative space in our purposefully designed studios in Golborne nr Warrington offers Pottery classes, Art/ Crafts Workshops and Mindfulness sessions ( Pottery and creativity for Health and well-being ) plus Alternative Ceramic Firing such as Raku and saggar firing. We also provide fully equipped studio space for supported sessions. This enables those with previous handbuilding experiece to work independently on their own projects with a technician/ teacher on hand for technical / glazing advice / support. Our studio can be hired for running your own ceramics / Art/ Craft Workshops. We can also arrange private individual/ group bookings. The purposefully designed space is comfortable and welcoming and warm, with a nurturing and creative atmosphere. With easy access from the M6, M62, M58 and M56 motorway networks. approx 20 miles from Manchester and Liverpool.
